I love brie Larson, but this performance and character is not only derivative but is borrowed. She portrays a female version of Sheldon Cooper. Right down to one of her parents being a church pastor.. Right down to the robotic, mono-tonous speech delivery. Right down to her being a brilliant chemist and a financial grant recipient at a clinical experiment and thesis teaching school... in California. Right down to her being inept in the ways of social and psychological human behaviors and/or interactions. Right down to the title of the series. Why didn't they just call it the "big bang chemistry theory?" I still do like the show because of its entertaining 50s backdrop and social messages. The cast is very good, except Rain Wilson was too stiff.
I know that some will disagree about the derivative from Sheldon, but I'm also here to say that I did notice the nuances that Brie added to make it her own. I also feel that the story could have been told in four episodes, maybe five, instead of eight.
Cheers!

How did all these major stars get dragged into appearing in this ridiculously stupid film. I don't get it, I didn't get it, I won't get it.
The only point of this movie was to be bizarre. I didn't find it funny, amusing, or interesting.
What a waste of a great cast. I don't know how I actually finished watching the whole thing, I guess I just kept hoping there'd be something that would happen. But nothing ever did.
Not to spoil anything, but Brian Cranston has the only somewhat funny line in the whole movie when Hope Davis and Scarlett Johansson stop their dialogue to see Brian standing next to them, and he says "Am I not in this?", then excuses himself from the scene awkwardly.
This whole thing would've played better as a live stage act or Broadway play.
Cheers!
