Wow! What a brilliant series. Gary Oldman is just superb as the cynical Jackson Lamb, the head of Slough House misfits and throw away MI5 agents. That said, the Slow Horses are just brilliant and run rings around the 'Dogs', those agents located at the prestigious offices in Regents Park. Jack Howden playing River Cartwright is just the top agent whose uncle is ex MI5 so there might well be something going on not revealed yet. Kristin Scott Thomas is superb as the devious head of MI5, Diana Taverner. Ruthless but with a very grudging respect for Jackson Lamb.
The whole cast of Slough House just play this so well, from Gary Oldman getting a laugh by not holding his farts in, to the incredible Saskia Reeves underplaying the formidable Catherine Standish.
If I could give than 10 stars I would. It's a brilliant, funny, quirky, exciting, fast paced and very very watchable series.

Today's film makers and actors should look on this masterpiece with real reverence. This is acting and storytelling at its finest. No CGI, no prima-donna's, just 12 actors who have honed their skills to perfection. If I were to single one out, it would have to be Lee J Cobb, but all of these great actors contribute to the overall picture.
It is not only powerful in its story but in all honesty, it makes you wonder if you would be as prejudiced as some of the characters and how that prejudice makes them jump to automatic conclusions. Sure the kid came from the slums, but was that alone enough to put him in the chair?
I know they can't but I feel that anyone called to undertake their civic duty as a juror should watch this movie.
Great stuff and an artform lost long ago.
