Sweetpea (2024)
Keeps you wanting more
Besides the murder part, she is very relatable. Almost like the movie Falling Down 1993 with Michael Douglas. Putting people over the edge. Everyone has their limits with the way they are treated. I kept seeing this advertised on Facebook and decided to give it a go. I did not get bored once or even look at my phone. It kept you engaged. You kept wondering if and when she would do "something". They did a great job of making everyone in her life look like horrible people and you really start feeling for her. Ellen Purnell is the perfect casting choice for this character. She literally can do everything.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)
No...just no
What were they thinking having a blockbuster movie played by no-name actors for the main characters? Where are the big names? The casting director should be fired. I thought watching it in 3D would make it less dull but it didn't help. The storyline, the mediocre acting from unknown actors, the ending that left lots of questions, and just plain boring-ness just made it a NO for me. I would say this is the Worst installment of the Transformers franchise. Also, Pete Davidson. Need I say more? I should have avoided this film like the plague just by that alone. I-yi-yi (face palm).
Hollywood has really lost it in the last 10-15 years, more-so the last couple of years. More people are watching tv series more than movies because movies these days just miss the mark and lack substance and originality.
Halloween Ends (2022)
Actually worse than Halloween Kills
Didn't think it was possible but Halloween Ends was actually a million times worse than Halloween Kills. Yikes. This one was just plain out DUMB. It was pointless and a waste of time and money. Bad acting, pointless weird love story during most of it. Michael only made a couple cameos and we didn't see him for at least 45 minutes. The main male character was just weird. Most important of all, for a Halloween movie, this one absolutely lacked the Halloween "feel" of the other franchises. No trick or treat or scary halloween vibes here. I feel so bad for JLC for getting wrapped up in this garbage. Despite the bad reviews, I still watched it just for nostalgia's sake and to be my own judge of the film but they are all absolutely correct in saying this was the worst Halloween movie ever made. The ending was just as bad as the middle and the beginning. The writers and directors, even the casting directors should all retire.
Monsters (2022)
Not another one
Oh boy. How many shows and movies, documentaries, etc are they going to make of this guy? The only difference between this and the others is that this series included false things and propganda in it with the sole purpose of putting false narratives out there.
For example, the neighbor in the show didnt live next door. She lived a building away. Her daughter never went to jail for breaking the white kids camera, the cops were never accused of being racist, the cops never called and did prank calls to the chinese guy, and so many other things they added for propganda value that never happened.
The police were obviously negligent and deserved to be stripped of their duties but to assume they were racist is just speculation at that. Whatever it is the writers tried to do here to try and make a point, did not work. Sorry.
The Gary I Knew (2020)
What a horrible girl
Obviously she used him like everyone else did.
She is an oddball and is using this documentary to profit from him some more. The true 911 call said it all. I love gary and feel so bad that he was treated so horribly all of his life and that his life got so bad that he had to succumb to living with and marrying this chick. This documentary is a complete joke.
Dirty Little Secret (2022)
Darn, well....it was good at first
I was so excited to see a lifetime movie about something different than cheerleaders, cheating spouses and crazy nannies, and to see one of my fave actresses in it, but dang, the ending was gosh awful and i feel duped. It was the most anticlimactic ending to a movie I've ever seen..melissa joan hart deserved better than this. She was so good in it. The ending made me rate it a 2. The 2 was for the acting alone.
Shameful Secrets (1993)
Joanna Kerns is a godsend
Not sure why the hate. Yikes. Stumbled upon this on Tubi since they have the old classic lifetime movies. Lifetime movies in the 80s and 90s were the best ones, and this one was no exception. Exceptional acting from Joanna kerns and the child who played her son Jason. People can say that this is another "typical lifetime movie" but to me, thats ok. This story should be told over and over until people realize what women go through. Tim Matheson always plays the bad guy, being type-cast in almost everything, so he did well here. It was a great story of abuse running in families from generation to generation and the struggle women face trying to leave, since most people think its so easy. A lot of new laws have been enacted in the last couple decades but battered women and children were through the roof during the time of this movie. If you like typical lifetime movies, you'll like this one as well.
Morbius (2022)
Wow
I think the negative reviews are from spammers or just people who flat out hate jared Leto. I just got back from seeing this and its the first marvel movie that I've seen in awhile that didn't put me to sleep. The visual and special effects were spot on. Intriguing storyline and entertaining throughout. They couldn't have picked a better person to play Morbius than Leto.
Reacher (2022)
Alan Ritchson
I'll take Alan R. Over Tom Cruise any day. Tom who?
This is the first time seeing Alan Ritchson in anything but he made me a fan. The series would be just like any other show but they made it interesting. Reacher is funny, sarcastic, intellegent and good looking (gigantic). Something you don't find in too many movies or tv shows these days. Excellent fight scenes, storyline, and great casting chemistry. Lots of a-ha moments. Each episode ends with you wanting more - the way it should be. If you get amazon prime for anything, please get it for Reacher AT LEAST. You won't be disappointed.
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Finale ruined whole series AGAIN
If the finale of the regular Dexter wasn't bad enough, we had to go through it again with New Blood. Yikes. I was so excited to learn that the show was coming back after the disappointment and weird finale of season 6. I thought we would get closure. Nope.
If i were the rate the first 9 episodes, I'd give it a 9/10. But because of the horrible finale I am deducting 9 points. The finale is the best part of a series and what makes or breaks a show.
S
NEW BLOOD started off great. Had you guessing and at the edge of your seat. I'm not a fan of the casting here, especially the lead cop, but whatever. The way she discovered that he may be a serial killer or murderer was so far feched. Why would they make dexter start a new life with a cop? And don't get me started on Harrison killing him in the end. What?? He killed his dad over Logan? When harrison just hugged his dad in the truck previously?
Oh boy. I'm no writer but even I could have ritten a better ending or storyline in general. For instance, having Dexter escape to a new state or country. Or if they are going to kill off Dexter, at least make it to where Harrison goes on to kill and make a new storyline out of Harrisons killings. To be honest, anything would have been better for the ending than the trash we recieved. What a let down. It went from a 9/10 to a 1/10 in the blink of an eye.
What a waste and disappointment.
Ghosts (2021)
Original Shmiginal
I can't help notice that all of the "negative" reviews are from people who are anti American versions of BBC shows. Get over yourselves. As someone who is watching this series as an unbiased viewer and never watching the "original" version, I truly enjoy it. This isn't about reviewing the comparison to the other show. Its about this show only.
Its different than anything else on tv and actually makes you laugh, something not too many sitcoms or comedy shows can pull off lately.
My only comaint is the main couple. They don't seem to have chemistry. More like brother and sister or best friends..maybe they may grow on me.
Don't listen to the stiffs who are complaining that the original is better. Watch this american version for yourselves.
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
My ribs still hurt
Its been weeks since i watched but my ribs are still hurting. So glad netflix wised up against cancel culture and kept this on their platform. I've been a Fan of Dave since his Dave Chapelle show days.
Comedy is always subjective. I love raunchy comedy and comediens who have the guts to speak their minds. Comedy isnt made to please everyone. Its not meant to be taken seriously. If people can't take a joke, they need to talk to someone about reality and unreality. He speaks his mind and didn't hold Back at all here. Love it.
Lets go Dave!
Chucky (2021)
Yes
I based my 9/10 rating on the pilot episode only. There are a lot of jump scares but I actually love those. The show does a great job of keeping you in suspense. It was casted well. The series is better than the last 4 remakes of the chucky movies. Don't get me started on the last chucky movie that didn't even look or sound like him. The series started just in time for halloween so I'm digging those fall halloween vibes. I'm liking where they are taking this series. I was worried when i first heard about a chucky tv series, But now that I have seen the first one, I'm confident that this series will last. The writers, producers, special effects team, and actors are all great. Hopefully the rest of the season Don't let us down.
Pretty Smart (2021)
Its OK
There aren't too many good netflix sitcoms so i wasn't expecting much. I'm a fan of emily osment, but she is the only reason I watch. Chelsea's sister is likeable but her friends are annoying and over the top, especially jayden. Right now its a good time pacfier but nothing special.
Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021)
Clever and different
Its definitely better than the previews and not what I thought. Its dark, its insane, its funny, and i love every bit of it. Its nothing like I've ever seen. It took about 3 episodes to really get the feel of it. The back and forth between sitcom mode and reality mode was done wonderfully. Here's to hoping for a season 2.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
Lebron James, umm N0
I'll summarize my bad review in 2 words.
LEBRON JAMES. He ruined the whole movie and thats a shame. Not to mention there is something about mixing real people with cartoon characters that isn't appealing anymore. But then again, it may have just been horrible because of Lebron...
Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021)

Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Confusing and anticlimactic
For the first hour, you were trying to figure out what the storyline was. I thought it was going to be action packed but it was very boring and completely confusing. The survivalist pregnant lady was the star of the movie. Don't get me started on the horrible ending either. Yikes. Glad i didn't pay for the movie and watched on hbomax.
Kid 90 (2021)
Better than i expected
It was a dark documentary. I loved seeing the old videos and flashbacks of all of my favorite celebrities from the 90s but it left me feeling emotional the whole time. She has lost a lot of people in her life like i have, especially to drugs and suicide so I feel for her. Soleil did not hold back anything in this film and you got to see her and her celebrity friends raw, uncensored and up close and personal. A great trip down memory lane. RiP jonathon Brandis. His death still saddens me til this day. I wish she would have done an update at the end and bring things up from the darkness but its all good. I still enjoyed it. Even teared up a few times
Punky Brewster (2021)
They did it right
Reboots get a bad rap but I personally love them if done correctly. Being an 80s baby, I grew up with Punky Brewster. I was excited for this reboot but once I saw what they did to the saved by the bell reboot, i was afraid it would be the same horrible, cheesy, bad acting, political mess. HOWEVER, unlike SBTBR, the writers were better for Punky. It was still a little cheesy but the nostalgia of it all, as well as the great cast, acting, and chemistry is what made it great. I would have given it a 10, but Freddie isn't really doing it for me in this character, although he is growing on me
The Drew Barrymore Show (2020)
Talk shows are not for her
She is so awkward as a talk show host that I actually feel awkward and uncomfortable watching her. Its not funny or entertaining.
As much as I love Drew and her movies / TV shows, being a talk show host is not for her. Sadly this show won't last. Its almost as awkward as Busy Phillips talk show.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Thank you netflix
Had I known this show existed, I would have gotten Youtube Red a long time ago. Thankful netflix picked up this gem.
As an 80s baby, I watched this purely for the nostalgia. I wasn't it expecting it to be this good.
It has just the right mix of comedy drama and suspense.
Another user review is correct. Zabka stole the show. The writers sure did make us feel bad for him throughout....never thought I would feel bad for Johnny Lawrence! I hated him in the karate kid movies but this series made me quite fond of him, now that we know his backstory.
But thats great writing there! The fact that they could turn the film into a series, and a great one at that, is amazing.
Don't get me started on the 80s soundtrack either.
I cant wait to see where netflix takes this show for season 3.
Indebted (2020)
Only watched for Fran D
The laughing tracks are overdone and so is the acting with some of the cast. I laughed once. I was rooting for Fran but sadly, this show will not last :(
Outmatched (2020)
Not what i thought
I love both actors but i didn't laugh once. I know sitcoms use laugh tracks but this one seems to be overly obvious and they use the laugh track way too much. I was hoping with a good cast i would like it but sadly I don't think this show will last.
Countdown (2019)
Not bad for a lower budget film
To be honest, most of the best movies (IMO) are movies like this that are lower budget. I feel like some blockbuster films and other buzz worthy movies are all forced, as with mainstream music.
This movie was no exception to being one of my faves of this genre. I noticed that it only had a 5.6 rating before I watched the film, but as I always do, I disregarded that and went for it anyways.
So glad I did. No, it wasn't perfect, and some of the acting was crappy, but all in all, it was entertaining and enjoyable. I actually jumped several times. I'm a fan of Elizabeth Lail from the series "YOU", which originally brought me to this movie, and as always, she was great as the lead. I love movies like this. Movies such as Final Destination and other movies in this category. Definitely worth the money to rent it, and do not listen to the negative reviews or people giving it a 1 star. You can't take those reviews seriously.
