Eddie Griffin: Voodoo Child (1997)
Eddie Griffin Voodoo Child on DVD
Just for the curious, this title is on DVD...i found it at sam goody. for $12.99. I also found this stand up of him extremely hilarious and could watch it over and over. It does have a lot of his jokes from Dysfunktional Family but I'm sure a few that have not been heard. I don't think it matters what I see him in, Eddie Griffin just cracks me up. I see from his bio that he has a few movies coming up and I look forward to seeing him on the big screen again. No matter who he teams up with, his movies come out with him on top. He steals the scene every time. Just love this man. I have no idea what else to say because every time I try to post this it tells me that I don't have enough lines for submission so hopefully by the time I get done with this sentence, it'll be ready for posting. Anyhow, Eddie Griffin's Voodoo Child is on DVD. Enjoy!
Friends with Money (2006)
Disappointed
Okay, I love Jenn just as much as the next person and actually I love all the actresses that appeared in this movie. Joan Cusack is awesome, Frances McDormand is a wonderfully gifted actress. But all of them together in this movie just made for one horrendously horrible film. I've wanted to see this movie for a long time and I can not begin to describe how horrifically I was disappointed. There virtually was no story line, just a group of "Friends" getting together every now and then and bitching and complaining about the world. If I wanted to see and hear that, I'd visit with my mother and my aunt. I want to be entertained by a movie, and I was not entertained. Jenn should've stuck with her other "Friends". I love her but not this movie. Why was she stalking a married man? We were never told anything about their relationship at all. There were vieled references but nothing to say if it was really meaningful. There was no ending to this movie. Okay, Jen and the fat guy are in bed talking about drapes and then poof! It's over. Whatever "it" was. Hopefully, she'll have something better for us in the new year. And by the way, I loved "The Good Girl". Very dark and out of the ordinary for Jen.
Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story (2005)
loved, Loved, LOVED this movie!
I thought this was a great movie, for fans of all ages. And I think Dakota Fanning is a sweet girl with an awesome acting future ahead of her. I think it was wonderful that they changed the role of the child from a boy to a girl just for her. She made this film, made it work and made you believe. It's a feel good film. It teaches patience and perseverance. It shows kids and adults alike what can come from hard work. I thought it was a very inspiring film. Made me remember what it was like to be a kid, when everything was possible. See this movie, you won't regret it...unless you have a heart of stone. It made me treasure the moments between a father and a daughter, having lost my dad this year. I miss him and I wish we'd had a bonding moment like the ones in the film. And it was good to see Kurt Russell again. He's always been a favorite of mine. And now I can add another movie to my list of all time faves.
