Paging Mr. Darcy (2024)
Paging my heart!
Now THIS is the true Hallmark that I have always loved and am so desperately trying to find again. The acting felt natural and not forced. The comedy was so real and cute, I lol'd. The build of the relationship and banter was so endearing- it felt like I was watching a true love happening before my eyes! Love, love, love this. It warmed my heart to watch. I have moved away from Hallmark because they have seemed so forced and worried about being "woke". The couples tend to not feel real but this one has brought me back! So happy I found this on frindly tv. The romantic gestures were heart warming and believable! Enjoyed the sisters growth and the couples! Great job Hallmark. For all hopeful romantics and Jane Austen fans. Glorious to behold!
Love at First Sight (2023)
Love at first watch!!!!
This is one of the best movies I have seen for sooo long! It is so pure and heartfelt. The acting was so endearing and captured me from the very first scenes. There was no useless drama filled with stupid needless jokes, no female bodies and cleavage being sleazy, just pure and simple emotions between people! It made me
Smile almost the whole time other than the moments that filled my eyes with tears but the kind that really feel good and make you think about how special and tender your relationships in life are and can be. My only regret watching this movie is that now I'm stuck with the question what the heck do I watch now because it will be disappointing compared to this story! This is the kind of story that sinks deep in your feast and lingers for days. Love, love love!!! A must see!!!!!!
Bad Sisters (2022)
A Plus for Apple TV +
Love this series! Storyline, characters, drama, comedy 🎭 it's all there! Apple shows are a class act! You know when watching an apple series it is going to be a fun ride. Their shows are done with high quality without needless smut and sex scenes. Even if there is a sex scene, it is done classy and not in a sleezy "let's see it all" kind of way. So refreshing. The acting was so natural and believable, the characters were so real and endearing. I couldn't figure out which sister was my favorite, well maybe not the one cheating on her husband for no reason but otherwise it was hard - they were all so likeable. I wanted to be friends with them! Great series!
Catherine Called Birdy (2022)
I ADORED this movie!
This was so endearing, touching, funny and heart-warming! I went in to this movie knowing I love "period" movies, I just love this era, but also thinking it may be just an okay movie because it was about a "kid". I was so pleasingly surprised. Yes, it is about a young girl but she is adorable, quirky and funny and wants so much more for her life. I found my self just loving her and her wit, also rooting for her along her journey. Also, the family dynamic is so good! The parents love for each other - aaaahhhh, so nice to watch and her relationship with them was so fun and adoring to watch. Also, the movie is very clean as far as un-necessary sexual scenes / crude lines / violence - so refreshing. Just a fun ride, this movie. In my opinion, a don't MISS!
The Santa Clauses (2022)
Santa Stinkers.....
I will admit my expectations were VERY high because I love the Santa Clause movies but yuck! I gave it a 2 only because Tim Allen is in it. The acting was HORRIBLE. Disney couldn't get better than this?!?!?!?! It was like most were just reading lines and the jokes were terrible. I guess I was expecting it to appeal to the generation that the movies came out, instead it must've been written for 5 year olds. Their were 4 of us watching it together and 3 of us after watching the first 2 episodes thought it was painful and will not be continuing. So disappointing... Actors are just stupid and annoying.
The Resurrection of Gavin Stone (2017)
The Resurrection of Christian Movies! :D
I loved this story! I went into it expecting it to be the typical badly acted and cornie jokes, women with lots of perfect makeup and cleavage BUT boy was I surprised. This was sooooo much better than the usual TV style Christian movies. I decided to try because it was on Netflix and they do such a better job at "Hallmark" style movies, maybe they are better at Christian ones too and they are!!! This movie was well acted, funny dialogue, no "trying too hard" scenes or "same ole same ole" scenes. It was a very heart warming, clean good story. Loved it! Would recommend to anyone especially for those so "over" Hallmarks troupes!! This was different and so adorable!
Nothing Is Impossible (2022)
Christian? Where's the modesty?!?
I was looking forward to watching this movie 🎥 but stopped because it has more cleavage than a regular Non-Christian Netflix movie. Netflix is showing normal everyday women that seems more real - women you see on a daily basis in life. These bad Christian movies paint the girls up to "Tammy day bakers" with the boobs spilling out! They wanna teach biblical truths but not modesty. Even Hallmark is "getting it" these days. Quit exposing women as "sexual" objects and let them be real women!!!!! Not a fan. Yuck 🤢 the channel
It's on is called Pure Flix - hello, it all get forced like we have to show some "made up woman" to get people to watch God's word. Uh, no, no you don't. Ugh.
Redeeming Love (2022)
Hard to watch...
While the story was good, it was hard to watch. It was disappointing for a Christian based movie that it was so sexually charged. I get the brothel but the close to R - rated body scenes were not needed. I have watched R-rated movies that didn't show as much as this. It just wasn't needed to drive the story. Also, for me a little long and drawn out! Just kept going back and forth from her staying, her leaving, her staying her leaving. Got a little tedious. It really paints men in a horrible light! Only like 2-3 good men in the whole men , everyone else is brutal so the story didn't really give much hope throughout. Just harped on the bad side. I've never read a Francine rivers book and was wanting to read one but this film did not make me wanna rush out and read one. Ugh...
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Top of the movie chain!
This was an Epic awesome movie! We saw it while on a cruise ship so watching this movie and swaying some from the ocean made it even better! It has a lot of nostalgic moments which were awesome but even without that it had such a wonderful storyline. We came out of the theater feeling like we could take on the world. It is one of those movies that just gets u pumped! Haha. A must see for thrill seekers and anyone looking for pure epic news and a bit of throwback to the "good ole days" Don't miss this one even if u haven't seen the first. Our son had not seen the first one and he still loved it and it made him want to see the first one.
The Purge: Anarchy (2014)
Yes, please!
Almost thrill, suspense crazy ride! Love these movies. Intense but thought provoking and on edge of seat movie. Favorite is the forever purge but enjoyed them all.
The Purge: Election Year (2016)
Purge forever fan!
A Purge movie never disappoints ! I find these films so thought provoking. What would I do, how would I handle this? If u like films that make u think of these type questions and wrestle with what is truly moral and right these are films I would recommend!
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
The devil made me watch this. Lol
Not sure why but I am addicted to these movies. They are creepy but fun. Of course I go into them knowing that the real couple faked things and made money so these are not true stories. Entertainment only. Nice to watch for a scary movie in October.
County Line (2017)
County drama! Lol
I rated this a 10 for a tv style movie. It's not an epic movie by any means but very good for a Friday evening watch! It has some great acting, a "Duke" boy, mystery, drama, love and friendship! Very nice date night watch and wings and popcorn at home!
Psycho Granny (2019)
Granny gone cray cray ...
This was an okay bored on a rainy day watch. Not a top one for me but okay. She does go psycho as the title tells us so that was fun to watch but it seemed more like a spoof than a movie. Haha.
Nearlyweds (2013)
A wedding movie for people who don't like wedding movies!
This is so fun! I typically don't tend to enjoy wedding movies but this one was super cute. All three girls stories were fun. They were so likable and the story was mainly about their experience being married not so much a wedding planner video. Their is a shop all for dog treats which was very interesting. Must for all HM fans.
The Ledge (2022)
Over the Ledge....
We enjoyed this movie but be sure to go into it knowing it is over the top as far as what characters do. The main character is like a superhero as far as rock climbing goes but still a decent movie for entertainment. The scenery is beautiful and it keeps u on the edge of ur seat or ledge. Haha.
Death She Wrote (2021)
Disturbing she wrote...
This is a great movie! It starts off right away. It has a lot of uncomfortable to watch scenes, just kinda awkward but in a fun way! Seemed like a classic Lifetime movie but with an updated twist. A must see if ur a Lifetime fan! The acting was amazing! The main crazy girl is awesome at taking on crazy! She was frightening yikes!
Ride (2018)
What an awesome RIDE!
Loved it! Very inspiring beautiful movie. It really pulls at the heart strings and shows how others can really make or break us in our lives. John's journey was fun and touching to watch. ALMOST made me wanna jump on a BMX bike myself! Lol.
V.C. Andrews' Heaven (2019)
Twisted but not in a good way...
I enjoyed "Flowers in the attic" series, even though it was twisted, it made sense. This one I just had a hard time keeping up with and the characters were just over the top dramatic - it seems a little spoofy! Lol.
Dying to Marry Him (2021)
Let Amy HAVE Him! lol
This would've been a better movie if the main guy getting married was portrayed to have a back bone! He lets the girl hang all over him, doesn't tell his finance' then basically goes upstairs with a stripper and only turns back when he knows it is the insane girl! Not cool dude............. spineless, cheating jerk. Being with a stripper is THE same as cheating with a non-stripper dude! Let Amy have him!!!! You can find better! Not a fan......
Flowers in the Attic: The Origin (2022)
No yellow flowers....
Love that Lifetime did "The Origin" - I read this series years ago and it makes me want to reread them AND it brought me to start watching Lifetime movies which I am NOW hooked on, lol This movie series is done so well, it is dark and twisted with lots of drama. I find myself oddly understanding and feeling sorry for Grandmother - how is this happening. Haha A must watch for people who love drama, suspenseful dark films.
Suitcase Killer: The Melanie McGuire Story (2022)
Hold my suitcase please....
Loved it! I am new to Lifetime movies and really enjoying. I am a fan of Candice King after years of watching Vampire Diaries! I had never heard of this case because "true crime" is not my jam but this movie pulled me in. I was shocked how it ended. I found myself rooting for Melanie!
Cyrano (2021)
Classic!
I ADORE Peter Dinklage and Joe Wright films! Seeing the two together creating a film was a dream! I was so excited to watch. I Love Peter's acting, such emotions, he always makes you really feel the actor whether it be pleasure or pain and this was no disappointment. I even enjoyed the singing! I also have never been disappointed by a Joe Wright film! I discovered Joe Wright when watching "Pride and Prejudice" and then "Atonement" - they way his films capture certain little looks or hand gestures - he just really knows how the capture a feeling. His way of filming just makes me fall in love with his films! The only thing that brought this story down in any way for me was the fact that it is written in verse like Shakespearian times which was somewhat not appealing to me but again due to Peter and Joe it is a hit for me! I also, love the story - heart breaking but powerful. The music is beautiful and the songs were great especially "Where-ever I fall part 1 and 2" and "Somebody desperate". I find myself listening to relax and think about the story and just life in general. A Joe Wright always has beautiful music! Well done, Joe Wright and Peter Dinklage! #TeamTyrion! My favorite character of ALL time!
A Perfect Pairing (2022)
A perfect disaster
I must say that I am a Hallmark fan but with that said; I know going in to Hallmark movie that every third one you find the diamond. This film was like the worst of hallmark! The acting was Ackward and over the top. No chemistry between the couple, bad acting, poorly written. For me, this film was a no! Usually I enjoy when Netflix does this type movie but this one did not quite make it! I don't even think they took full advantage of the landscape but that was the only enjoyable thing in the movie for me.
The Adam Project (2022)
The BORING project!
I could not even finish this movie, just was not a story that really drew me in. I know I am not a good judge probably of this film because I should have known I wouldn't like it, because I can't stand Ryan Reynolds. I have never really knew why, but every filmed I have tried to watch with him in it, I just think he is a terrible bland actor. He just always seems like a jerk to me! So if you are a Ryan fan, maybe you will like this but for those of us that don't care for him, don't even try it, yuck....
