Bel-Air (2022)
Diversity is missing
Every modern show has to be diverse in unrealistic ways yet this got a free pass. Even historical shows about a queen was raceswapped.
Yet every single character was black, now take us back to 1992 and nobody would give a flying ####, we loved the whole black cast.
Diversity was great when shows and movies weren't being forced to be diverse. Look at the predator cast. Excellent diversity and nobody batted an eyelid.
But bel air was made solely to recapture the beloved show but just whinge how tough it was for black people at a time where the media outlets pushed it. 2 years later nobody cares, they've moved on to Muslim folks.
This show was too dark for what people want, they wanted the comedy and charm that will brought with the seriousness Alfonso and James brought.
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
The original is so much better
Watched the first few episodes and wow!!!
I'm not Anti LGBT by any means but I hate the fact that the SJW writer staff have to force it in the story several times.
We understand one character is gay but why tell us several times in an episode and the trans guy, why tell everyone several times again. Then the Muslim girl they have her pray in the middle of the firehouse. (Yes we've seen Bobby at church) but bang in the middle of a fire truck spot.
Then rob Lowe's character has cancer, but why build a whole montage of skin care just to tell the trans guy he's still a man.
I really expected this to be good.
The viewers don't mind these characters, but we don't need to be told several times that that's what they are, we can kinda see.
It's like Supergirl where they had to constantly tell the audience that characters were black or gay etc.
Knock it off and focus on the story of fighting fires/rescues.
The Nun II (2023)
Fell asleep
Jesus this film is boring, I fell asleep and just found it confusing and dull, the weird relationship with Maurice and the school girl was borderline pedophilia, the snobby girls were just taken out of mean girls.
Super confused as I thought they're in France but English teachers, some have accents and the girls have different accents.
May have zoned out to explain.
The jumpscares were good but predictable. Problem with the nun movies, you just see her, then they cut away from the kill.
Paranormal movies are about the unseen yet this is a slasher, monster and paranormal movie, it can't figure out what it is.
The nun was dull the only decent thing was the post credit with him being exorcised, this I didn't even get to the credits as it's a slow slow burner.
Secret Invasion (2023)
Had potential but failed
This show could've saved the MCU but so poorly executed.
The producers have just tried to redo another Winter soldier version of espionage thriller mixed with the body snatchers.
It's been done before and to a much better standard.
Fans of the MCU want Superheroes to entertain us, we want a proper entertaining series, yet we still aren't getting it.
Secret invasion comics were big big arcs where people loved to read but this is just fury being fury again and a few more secrets.
Dropped the ball badly on this.
Is it superhero fatigue that's in full swing or is it just terrible writing and execution. I'm thinking the latter.
Plus why is it in every American cinema piece every Brit is portrayed as cold and have a London accent, granted nobody wants to hear a Brummie, manc or Scouser, Essex accent and nobody will understand Geordie or Cornish, but we have a small piece where it's normal.
Justice League: Warworld (2023)
What is this?
I've always said DC animated moves beat any live action even MCU, but since this "tomorrowverse" started it's just poor.
We want adaptations of our favourite stories, I thought seeing Bruce dressed like that we'd get the return of Bruce Wayne story. But nope!
The stories just suck.
I've been waiting for a Batman contagion/cataclysm No man's land story for years. Superman worlds at war, even a proper warworld story.
Seeing the name I expected a good movie with mongul and warworld but no this is what we're given.
The writers cannot write wonder woman
We need stories that matter.
I know we're getting crisis movie but follow that with flash rebirth, GL rebirth, blackest night, give us a nightwing story that we all want.
A proper character story just not batman (ironic as I want no man's land)
DC have a sold 40 years of great stories ( pre 80s was bad in general)
I can't see what this story is from, seems original, but we don't want original, we want animated versions of what we love to read.
Titans (2018)
Good show but why so dark?
DC have this thing where their universes have to be so dark and depressing it borders on becoming unwatchable.
Titans comics have usually been upbeat, light and fun to read, this was just basically another Zack Snyder style show.
Dick is moody, Kory aggressive, Raven is dark, Gar is the funniest, and hawk and dove were fun but other characters not so much. Superboy was a welcome addition then they use the evil Superboy story.
But why not make it fun and exciting.
Then the stories, it's all magic and mystical. The first season got dull due to being about raven and her dad, but season 4 essentially repeated it but with brother Blood.
I'm surprised it lasted 4 seasons.
Make DC light and fun like Marvel, that's why marvel have a huge franchise and DC is tripping up on every project.
The arrowverse got exciting but dropped due to the writers beliefs, then this show got depressing.
Wednesday (2022)
Good but flawed
The show is pretty great, I enjoy the dark burtonesque tones.
The majority of characters are great, some are annoying , the love triangle is irritating as Wednesday doesnt need this, her character is all about torture and death, not love.
Bianca is frustrating and hope she doesn't return just to fill a box.
Homes, Morticia and festa are great, the actors are a great fit
It just needs to lose the touch of teen drama that Miller and Gough are bringing. It's great on smallville but we need a dark gritty show that matches Tim Burton style.
Season Two I'd like to see her be a bit more like the character were used to.
The Whale (2022)
Every overweight person should watch
As a "morbidly obese" person, this movie is an eye opener, I watched him and realised I do the same things as him, luckily I'm not that big,
This just made me realise I'm heading on this path, this movie should be on prescription for anyone who is overweight, a doctor should recommend patients watch it.
You truly realise that this is the only way life will be if we carry on the path of gaining weight.
Brendan played this guy perfectly, he has a true comeback story and couldn't choose a better story to give us.
Whilst it's not a summer blockbuster, this movie is a true dramatic peice where everyone should view.
Luke Cage (2016)
Great but again all blame white or police
This show is pretty cool, it's thoroughly enjoyable, good acting and cast, the first season drags a bit.
My only issue is this show has to bring everything back to blame a white man or blame the police.
The story is black on black violence but they blame the police for stopping it, exclaiming Luke is on the run not because he's bulletproof but because he's black.
This just highlights how a lot of black folk blame everyone else instead of themselves, the writers should've done a better job.

Black Adam (2022)
Another Dwayne ego trip
This could've been a great, truly great movie, yet Dwayne has to bring his ego and make another movie where it's all about him. The story doesn't matter just as long as he can flex his ego again.
He ruined the story, he ruined the franchise and he ruined the character
We could've had Shazam Vs black Adam but nope, DJ is too big to do a cameo, that cameo could've set up a great Shazam/black Adam movie, but he has to ruin the movie, like everything he does he always has to have that stupid "not loose fights" contact clause, forget the story just his ego, the 4 stars were solely for the other characters, I hope this served him to bring his ego back, but it didn't he carries on.
Loki (2021)
Season one
So Loki has the ability to be the greatest show, it should be the best MCU production as Loki is a lovable character and most fans love Tom as Loki. Yet they messed it up a lot.
Out of everything the writers chose, why choose this path? He could've been the next big bad (again) had team ups with other new big bands, he could've brought Kang into the picture properly not like Kang has so far.
But TVA bull and timelines, it's confusing and not fun to see, we could've had him doing what Loki does best, but no they shove him as a love sick errand boy who has yet again another redemption story arc.
Hopefully Season 2 will be better, as one just was Meh, it wasn't poor, I just expected better.
Marvel need to slow down and focus on better stories, Tom is fantastic as usual, he needs better.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
The show hurts the insecure men in their little.........
She hulk is a decent show, yeah some cheesy moments but it's not bad, the episodes are fun in general, it is comic accurate and people who say otherwise are just morons.
She's a decent character, the right amount of cameo's (those who claim it's reliant on cameos enjoyed Spiderman with 9 cameos)
This show gets a lot of flack for poor writing, bad CGI bad acting etc etc etc.
However, this is just the same old people mainly men in their late 20's -50's who cannot accept change and they think men must rule the media like vikings.
We aren't in the middle ages anymore, if you look at the profiles of the ones who moan they have the same bearded, sunglasses in a car picture, and call themselves vikings to their friends.
Pathetic. See in media we don't just need men to rule, sometimes women can do it, everyone liked black widow until she got her own movie,
There has been some bad Women scenes in the MCU especially endgame fight, but she hulk is review bombed as you hate it, but you also complained about the whole of phase one except iron man, then the whole of phase two except winter soldier.
Maybe if you hate the show because it's the M-she-u then it's you that is the problem.
She hulk is good.
Oh, and Skaar looked poor!!!!
A Man Called Otto (2022)
One of Tom's best since Forrest Gump
Brilliant and emotional movie, the last 15 minutes will get you, some of Tom's last few have been hit and miss for a lot of us.
This is a great performance by him and the fellow cast, relatively small budget but the drama equals any big budget.
The problem is Tom Hanks is america's golden goose, yet idiots caused the epstien controversy and his movies don't get the numbers, all because some deluded idiots trying to ruin him.
If you believe it you're a total idiot.
But well done to the supporting cast, they were fantastic and his son Truman as a young Otto was a good call.
Excellent movie!
The Batman (2022)
Declines on multiple viewings
First time watch last year, this was a solid 9/10.
I've watched 3 times since and each time it gets worse.
My big problem is there is too much filler for the slow pace of the plot.
The riddler was good being different but he was too different.
Zoe kravitz was meh, boring and wooden, just another don't need a man with a bad attitude woman.
Robert patz it's good as Batman, his Bruce is a bit emo, and yes I've read a ton of comics before anyone asks. When he's Bruce he kinda mumbles his dialogue.
Penguin was portrayed more realistic which is good but still didn't think he needed to be in the movie.
Jim Gordon also mumbled a lot, that's what I noticed the characters cannot talk they mumble. I liked him as Jim Gordon, I didn't think Andy serkis was a good choice for Alfred but maybe next movie he may get more screen time.
However I do like the movie, I think it's real good, the theme is great, but the run time couldve been 30 minutes less.
Blockbuster (2022)
Boring and wrong time era
This shouldve been set in the 90's at the height of Video rentals, not now.
The first episode I made it 13 minutes before turning off, for me Randall park is just terrible, not a good actor. He can't pull off funny or serious, he was terrible in the MCU, his humour does seem natural but too forced.
If they set in the 90's it would just be so much better as everyone who is the target audience would've been to a rental store and can relate, even if they set it for just before the streaming boom started so we can see the character struggle with impending unemployment, the way it's set doesn't make sense.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Great but why make it about race
Great show but I can't help wonder why the writers had to bring the whole race situation into it.
The final scene in endgame with cap passing the shield was the way it should be, but for some reason the writer had to bring on race, it was filmed during the whole racial tension (2020) in the US but could've just kept it simple.
Ms. Marvel (2022)
It's good, ignore the racists
This show is decent, funny and generally good.
I've noticed people hate it as its centred around a Muslim cast, they whinge but its good, boring in parts but kamala is well wrote and played as a teen with struggles.
Forrest Gump (1994)
Perfect
This is a simply perfect movie with a perfect soundtrack. Only thing I'd change is not to let Jenny die but to let him grow old with her.
Otherwise it's absolutely splendid.
Moon Knight (2022)
Just because it's Marvel, you can call it bad
So far it has 7.5 stars, but the majority of people on social media call it boring and confusing.
Same here, its a dull fest, actually that boring I'd rather watch Downton Abbey.
Just because Marvel release a show, doesn't mean its automatically brilliant, none of the Marvel shows have been good except What If!.
The rest have been tedious and feel like I need to watch otherwise I'll miss the bigger picture.
But moon knight I'll pass episode 4 onwards.
Supergirl (2015)
Shouldn't of moved to CW
After it moved to CW it nose dived. But again as other CW it's the writers own beliefs and politics forced into show. Such as the lgbtq stories and the blm/alien stories.
Writers need to write a show not an agenda.
But this show went off the cliff when we got superman. We got what we wanted and no longer needed supergirl to fill the superperson role.
The Flash (2014)
Used to be great
The show used to be brilliant but lost its was with CW forcing social and political issues into their shows.
After 3rd season this just became a pile of poop due to the complete forced diversity. We have oevery different race and alphabet people.
Iris spoils it as she's played too needy. Not actress fault but shoddy writing.
Too many supporting cast, go back to basics, kill off Joe, and Cecile, get rid of the twins and allegra. I like Chester, keep caitlin, Barry and iris and that's it.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
After thoughts
After 8 months, I've reviewed my thoughts, whilst it's still a solid 10 star the only quip I have is too much slow mo, the movie would be shorter and fit on 1 disc. Nearly 25 minutes is slow motion.
Some scenes need it but it's dragged out.
Still bloody good though,
I don feel the snyder verse needs zack to carry on but they should continue certain parts like darkseid and cyborg.
Punchline (1988)
Let down would be a better title
To say it has Tom hanks, Sally Field and John Goodman you'd expect better.
Sally field plays a woman with a husband and kids having a midlife crisis.
John Goodman plays her hubby who is underutilised
And Tom, thank god he switched gears into dramatic roles.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Perfect ending for all spidermen
The movie was the perfect wrap for all of the characters good or bad except the main star.
The best bit of the movie and the most powerful out of all 8 spider movies was the feeling of redemption when Andrew Garfields Spider man saved MJ.
It was his emotional response it was perfect!.
It is q shame they didn't show a flashback of Emma Stone falling as thatbwould give the scene more depth to newcomers.
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)
Jamie is annoying
This is widely considered one of the worst movies in the franchise, even busta rhymes fake kicks aren't this bad.
I can deal with the bad story, 90% of horror has bad stories
90% of horror has bad acting
The Michael myers mask is piss poor but the worst is TTTTTTTINA ,THE FAKE POOR STAMMER AND UNEXPLAINED MUTISM
Why is she mute? There is no reason then all of a sudden she talks normal.
The only saving grace in this is Tina in her Halloween outfit.
