The Client List (2011)
It is, what it is.
I have been reading reviews and opinions regarding The Client List. I am going to do a pro and con list in pairs. How fun is that?
1p) Pros, It is entertaining, and somehow I do not feel anyone meant it to be a after-school special on morals or values. It was not even presented as such.
1c) Con, the entertainment value is a bit to shallow. Get JLH off the creepy pedestal spotlight, making her appear above all the rest. Let her character shine, not her boobs.
XXX
2p) With each episode, she grows in strength and confidence.
2c) Self deprecating choices. Seriously? She made a choice. She was not forced into her occupation. She chose this. Stop making her moral dilemma such an issue. Embrace it. Why not? She keeps having these moral battles and woman viewers are going to take up the Joan of Arc crusade and call it demeaning to women.. You know I'm right. (I am a woman)
XXX
3p) The men are hot.
3c) All men are hot. Reality, not all men are hot.
XXX
4p) The job appears sexy.
4c) The job needs to show ups and downs. All careers have them.
XXX
5p) Everyone loves and drools over JLH, or jealous.
5c) Everyone loves and drools over JLH, or jealous. (Repeat was intentional)
So anyway. The show is mildly entertaining and had much potential to grow from a decent concept with an unrealistic start. Writers and producers? Work on that, thanks..
Pretty Little Liars (2010)
Nearly two seasons of the same plot?
I was horribly bored with all the rain and cold weather. I watch very few TV shows and my daughter told me to watch this one. Mind you, she is in her early 20's and I am not. :)
I'd first like to say, this should have been a mini series or made for TV movie. There is only so much you can do with a single plot and keep the tale spinning with interest. I was done after trekking through season one. I was unable to manage moving onto season two.
The Disney group of actors are not terrible, and a couple are moderately decent. Although, the effort to give them distinct personality was a huge fail. I felt like I was watching the dysfunctional community of Stepford wives and their bot families.
Through out the long...... 22 episodes of season one. I kept thinking, who is this stupid? Who would not seek out help? Talk to parents, police, anyone? What teenager has the capacity to handle something like this? I am sure there are some, but the average kid would be way out of their ability and element to face these kinds of head games. In what world of the currant times, could you not get a fix on even a blocked number? Even if the police scare you, there is always hiring a P.I.? I mean seriously. These teens have more cash in hand, than I do as an adult.
My second thought. If they did not indulge the sadistic torturer; then what? At what point is the cost to high? There seems to be very little in the way of boundaries here. We all have them..
I gave this show a five, simply because there are some elements of interest. A few of the actors are decent. Some of the manipulation is creative, but at the same time, all repetitive. This is definitively geared for young teens that have wish edgy fulfillment.
Lesson learned? Well, I've not truly learned one. I'll give anything a chance. Maybe I have learned not to hang on so long, when the plot is so singular. How long can they truly drag out the torment of -A ? We need more of the alphabet.. -A has lost his or her charm...
Friends with Benefits (2011)
Cliché, predictable, but so honest and funny!
This movie was all things cliché and predictable. Even though you know what is coming, the honesty with life's little quirks and human behavior was incredibly well done.
Timberlake is an okay actor. I found him to be a fresh breath in this movie. The dialogue and scenario fit his charm quite well.
I found Mila Kunis to be quite funny, and she pulled off that cute, charming, awkwardly damaged woman, perfectly. She was chic, yet easy to relate too. Down to earth, but an air of success and confidence, hidden in all the girly dreams and fairy-tales.
If you want something original and never done before, this is the wrong movie to watch. If you wish to appreciate a good spin on an old concept with stellar humor and humanity, it is worth the watch..
Sons of Anarchy (2008)
Has got to be the best couples show ever!
I was a huge skeptic over Sons of Anarchy. I actually wasted; Yes Wasted! two full seasons ignoring this gem of a show. I am caught up now.
The reason for my title? This is truly the best show that services the best of what men and women both want in a show. It truly has it all! Sexy, dangerous, brutal, edgy. romantic, dramatic, and very well written.
The actors are as diverse as the show itself. Each with a flare and personality rich with character. It is truly impossible not to find something great about each and every one. Be it hate, love, like or lust this cast. Each and every emotion has been brought on by superb acting, writing, wrapped up with the general environment created.
I only have one minor complaint over season 3. It should be called "Chasing Able" As it seems the entire season is about finding Jackson's child. I feel it has gone on a bit to long. Regardless of that though? I still get giddy on Tuesday nights to watch this edgy and creative show.

Daybreakers (2009)
So predictable, I saw it before it happened.
I am a huge fan of vampire stories/movies/games. Sadly, there is rarely much budget put into them "even if so many love them" This movie had an amazing concept, but poor execution. I had the plot figured out before the movie was 1/4 over. The ending was so obvious it annoyed me.
This movie had promise of originality but failed epically, as they attempted an epic feel, lacking creativity beyond the concept.
Sam Niel plays an excellent bad guy, he did not fail here. Some elements of this story kept me watching to the end. Sam Niel being one of them.
Willem Dafoe is the pinnacle werido. I mean that in a good way. He was actually quite enjoyable to watch.
As for the other actors. They left me feeling bored and uninspired. I never got an attachment, nor did I care what happened to them.
Twilight (2008)
From books to movies
I really wanted to like this movie. I have read all four books. The first and last being the best of the series "in my opinion of course" The good: Some of the actors were good fits. Robert Pattison makes an excellent Edward. The girl playing Bella could be perfect, if she actually had something to say, and stop with all the ditsy expressions.
The movie lost the essence of the book. I realize that it can not be exact, but it really needs to hold the flavor to be good. And it did not. I felt nothing of the building relationship between Edward and Bella. So forced and unbelievable.
There were parts of the book that were left to the way side for less impacting areas. The movie just felt too direction-less. I read somewhere that the overacting was due to lack of dialog. If that is the case. The screen writer and director did not even bother reading the book fully. There was a lot of dialog to be had.
Entertaining but lacking severely. The soundtrack was outstanding though!
