Closing Dynasty (2023)
I Must Have Missed Something
This Closing Dynasty is an extremely short story; only 16 minutes long. That's what caught my attention in the first place, figured I might as well watch it. The description said that the little girl, who was out roaming the streets instead of going to school, would make a discovery that could change everything. I never saw anything like that so I must have missed something in the 16 minutes of this film. Unless they were referring to the glass fake gem she found in the garbage that was worthless? Well i don't get it other than seeing a sad story of a young girl beyond her years on the streets.

Penthouse 2 Better Than Penthouse 1
Penthouse 2, more of the same continues from Penthouse I, shocking us at every scene. More outlandish drama even better and more complicated scripting than Penthouse I. Very fast moving. The drama is modeled after an Opera with the top Soprano being the heroine (Yun Hui). She comes up with a plan to prove herself as the real Champion Trophy Winner (from the past) in a way you will never suspect. Not sure if this is supposed to be a full out serious drama, but I find it so outlandish that it seems comedic too. The final once again leaves an opening for another season (which we know by now that it did materialize).
The Summit (2024)
Ridiculous Decisions
Who in there right mind would get rid of the most perfect leader, the person who got them through everything, to put himself in that #1 position? - So IMO just a theory but after checking, (have a habit of checking bios), it appears he is the only one that was in a previous movie or comedy put out by the same company that did 20 Year Old Virgin - so I am assuming he did it for self promotion (more face-time!!), unlike some of the others who had no bios other than "self" who had one reason or another or a real athletic ability and desire to reach the summit and actually help the team succeed as a team. This was a disgrace to backstab Dusty for the purpose of putting yourself in the position! And the puppet master military woman - OK she is capable however there are times when a male strength may be necessary and desirable with such a diverse team which actually did happen a few times as Dusty helped some survive. What is with that? No support from her either? Can't stand it anymore either. Not looking forward to the final. My missing 8 stars go to Dusty as he was the real star in this show. The scripting of this show does seem a little too obvious - Dennis' humor was funny but he played the part of the Korean Cockroach a little hard. The moms coalition formed a clique and the talented military hide their identities in fear of being kicked off? Makes 0 sense!

How Can You Not Love This Drama?
How can you not love a drama that uses California Dreaming by the Mama and the Papas as one of their theme songs? The theme of this drama to me was reminiscent of the Stockholm Syndrome from the 70s (Patty Hearst Case) -Rich heir gets kidnapped who falls in love with her kidnapper, all the while the family is desperately searching for her (but molded into a different script). The script here is that the heir is getting married and it is his bride to be that gets kidnapped. You have to love the ML, the kidnapper who does it just for fun because he is dying anyway. They drift and goes on a quest with her to find his real dad before he dies. He has a smile that is just contagious. It ends up in real love. The ending of this drama is the most loving and touching I have ever seen and the saddest too.

Could Have Been So Much Better
The theme was great, comical in parts, the acting that stands out is Detective Kim who has nothing to do with the actual girl's sexy business other than to fall in love with the FL and manager of the business. The other actors that stand out are the kids who did a great job and the geeky son who worked at the pharmacy except that was over-the-top unbelievable geeky. What I hated about this drama was the overused nothing of an ending where there is a time-lapse of 4 years (under the excuse that Detective Kim gets transferred). Hate these as what happened to I love you??????? Or will you marry me snd come with????? Or please don't go?????? Just bam! Done and then 4 years later here we are. No real ending...That is boring. My stars are for Detective Kim and he wasn't even the theme of the show.
It's What's Inside (2024)
Reminiscent Of A 70s Party On Mescaline
Yes, that's the best way to describe this movie - an early 70s party on Mescaline with the song "Love The One You Are With" playing over and over again. Then you wake up the next morning thinking what the heck happened last night. So in essence it's a trip back in time, not that unusual of a concept, but a bold writer expanded a concept of friends getting together, getting wrecked, with a twist that hasn't been done before. Actually I thought it went a little slow in parts with a-lot of dialog. Also at times it was hard to sort out who was who but maybe that was the writer's objective to give us the experience of what they were feeling. Overall OK but unrealistic scenario.
The Manhattan Alien Abduction (2024)
Both Sides Of The Story - One More Scientific
You can tell that some of these reviewers are young and don't even know who Budd Hopkins was. Also they don't realize that the woman doing the debunking was his other half. Budd Hopkins was a famous UFO Investigator of his time, talking this issue seriously and documenting cases because no one else was doing it back then. Problem is that most people in those times would think you are crazy if you even talked about it. The talk shows of that era (Oprah, Geraldo, Ricky, and many more) were all competing for ratings with the most controversial subjects they could find. When they started inviting Budd Hopkins on TV, it was more about ratings than a true concern for humanity in those days - and came across as mockery as the audience just laughed at his serious work. This Linda case got out of hand with Budd believing her every word and his objectivity was being over shadowed by basically getting hooked on her every call and whim. His other half who always filmed for him started to notice his bias and loss of objectivity in this particular case since it was so bizarre. She tried talking to him but by this time he would not entertain any discussion. So she started to piece together all the scientific evidence it was a hoax. The ending of this story is enlightening and I won't spoil it but some shocking evidence that wasn't brought out in the beginning shaped my own opinion whether this was a hoax or not.

So Sad But So Inspiring
I don't know how anyone could give anything but a 10 rating for this emotional and heartfelt documentary that will leave you in tears. Whether you have experienced the world of online gaming or virtual worlds yourself, it is a must watch. Evidentially it is the 10 year anniversary of this young man's death since he passed away in 2014, and here he is still making a difference in people's lives as his story lives on through Netflix. He has reached the North, East, South and West globally and made a difference in people's lives through his online avatar and persona, his blog, his friend's stories and his family of course.
Gangnam 1970 (2015)
Definitely The "Gang" In "Gang"nam
Perfect example of what a neo- noir genre film is- depicts violence and sexuality; a little too violent for me so I closed my eyes in some parts, however the soundtrack was so realistic that it didn't help much. This movie puts the "gang" in Gangnam. At the first moment when I turned it on I instantly recognized Lee MinHo and he had that famous global charisma. Fantastic acting as always with him and the others casted as well. Despite the violence, still gave it 10 stars definitely for the acting and would never deduct for a genre of a film as maybe other people like that type and the stunts and fight scenes had to take much work and talent. Sad story.

Lonely Planet (2024)
Sorry, Don't See The Chemistry With FL
IMO this movie could have been a whole lot better with a different FL from the casting point of view - I get it - this is supposed to be a cougar romance with a younger hot guy, but I don't think it is a match. The male lead Liam definitely did his part in coming across as the hot young successful guy who has a girlfriend that is putting him down for no reason, ignoring him, is on drugs, and he makes you feel empathy for him during the movie. However FL L. Dern seemed too plain in appearance, not exciting in their excursions and boring. I just didn't feel the chemistry. Also, the story seemed slow going in most parts.
That Kind of Love (2024)
Slow Romance Story
Thought this was a very slow romance story; I would call it a "nice" romance story but not necessarily a rom-com as others are describing it. I didn't see any real funny parts in it. The story has a small bit of tension in it as another girl enters the scene to disrupt the flow but we all know from the very beginning how this is going to end anyway because it is so predictable that the tension added doesn't mean a thing. The male lead is cast perfect and the arrogance was played perfectly. IMO the casting for FL could have been better as I didn't see the chemistry that much on her side. The ending is a fairytale.
Love Is Blind: Habibi (2024)
Controlling Men-Girls Can Dance & Make Own Decisions!
Unbelievable cultural differences in this version of Love Is Blind Habibi. Only saw 2 episodes so far ( so not considering this a spoiler but a precursor for a messy season to come) I predict the first couple matched won't last - we will see. Let's just say the man was way too controlling by moving way too fast making a "claim" on "his" woman to the "bros" that he has known for exactly 1 day (RED FLAG!) and telling them to cancel their date (if she picks them). Then the other guy who also likes her backs down out of "loyalty" to his bro? The whole concept goes down the tubes immediately - this is not about making friends or "loyal bros" but finding the best love connection. Which brings to the next point-the girl he claims clearly tells him she loves to dance from the beginning and he tells her "I don't like that" right from the get-go (RedFlag!). Then he moves fast and proposes (RED FLAG!), so she lets him know this and she succumbs to his pushing w/o insisting to see HER other date pick first! One note abt the show is that despite all the different regions and backgrounds, everyone speaks great English with no noticeable accents and whoever taught them did a great job.
Heugbaekyorisa: Yori Gyegeub Jeonjaeng (2024)
Koreans Always Have The Best Concepts for Competitions
Koreans truly put on the best competition shows on, whether it is cooking or physical shows, always including the top stars in their fields and mixing that with unknowns who are good or up and coming and want to go up. They add in drama and unbelievable sets and unique competitions. This one was divided between the white spoons (famous and Michelin Star chefs) team vs. The black spoons ( the talented or self taught chefs). Immediately some of the black spoons stand out who are unique characters that start early beating the professionals. Just to give one example, there is the Comic Book Chef who is self taught by reading comic books and making the dishes in the books unbelievably good, winning against the pros in a blind taste test. . Just fun overall. Won't spoil it but my favorite from the very beginning, did win so was very happy. His contender was extremely good in taste and a lot of it was trying to sell his story with the dish which was touching to a Korean I am sure but one comment may have been offending to a Patriot - after all. Anyway my star deduction has nothing to do with anything other than the one fact that I am thinking it may be produced in a way to make sure a white spoon and a black spoon survive for the final (just saying..) because they would never be able to have a second season otherwise - no Michelin or oro chefs would ever want to sign up again if none of them survived right? Not sure but the black spoon who went home #3) may have got the short end of the stick IMO?
Eom-ma Chin-gu A-deul (2024)
Slow drama with FL making it all about her
ML Jung Haein 10 stars, however overall drama 4 stars. Scripting makes this a slow drama and don't see the chemistry or a casting match for Jung Haein's FL. She is constantly selfish and it's all about her - leaving him to get the short end of the stick all throughout this whole drama - thanks to the bad scripting. And when she supposed falls in love she still treats him like he is a little brother by grabbing him by the neck and choking him to the ground. How ridiculous. Very bad ending - ML loses out in the end again giving in to her every demand. He should have just left at the end imo as what has she offered him or considered his feelings the whole time? I have seen Jung Haein in other sweet romance dramas and loved those however I wouldn't call this one a sweet drama because of casting for FL and scripting could have been better.
Soojimazeun Woori (2024)
Crazy and Drags on
128 Episodes long, this is a traditional type of a drama with evil characters (all relatives). How can you have so much sorrow and evil in one extended family? Ridiculous over the top unbelievable in-laws, mothers, boyfriends, triangles, all involving children and adoptions until you can barely watch the despair anymore. When you get to that point, the writer ends it with a time lapse ending and merely updates everyone's life making it seem like all is ok now. How ridiculous. One saving grace for this series is one cute supporting couple who fall in love for real and do get pregnant out of wedlock but their love is so cute and real you end up rooting for them since everything else is so evil. My stars go to them.
Apollo 13: Survival (2024)
Fantastic Historical Documentary
We need more documentaries like this - the pure and inundated story of the true event of Apollo 13 using original footage and original people involved including family members unlike movies that try to depict history. I for one, am someone that lived through this time period and saw the moon landing in 1969 on live TV, got to go to the awesome ticker tape parade in downtown Chicago (an experience never to be forgotten wading through all the ticket tape flying out of high rise windows and people to people crowds), and this event as well. It is a reminder what a great feat was accomplished; I didn't even own a Commodore 64K yet and our upper level math in schools was taught with a manual slide rule and our brains. So it is remarkable that they were able to navigate home and all lived. Some asked if this mission was a failure - no mission is ever a failure because you learn something on every mission. They are true patriots and heros.
Sexy Zone: The Finest (2022)
timelesz Audition Project 2024 (Sexy Zone)
This video is the last I could find on Sexy Zone since members seemed to have gone separate ways, except 3 who are still together and now have renamed themselves timelesz. Writing a review for the timelesz Audition Project on Netflix as no other place for the new timelesz, as the only 3 remaining members of the boy band Sexy Zone now, in 2024, are re-creating this new vision under that new name timelesz- not forgetting their original Sexy Zone, but to continue on with the same background and vibes with a new vision and looking for a new member or members who will above all be a companion and fit in with the team, someone that can truly share their vision, not the "me" mentality but team and companions. Thus the creation of this Netflix 2 episode of timelesz Audition Project. It is a unique private audition process on Netflix called timelesz Audition Project 2024 where finding out applicant's personality traits and goal for applying is high on the list. Am usually a fan of Korean music shows (this is Japanese); thought I would watch it since it was only 2 episodes (round 2 and 3) of their private up close and personal real life auditions, to find the person foremost who has the right personal connection with them on 1 to 1 interview as this is most important for them and their journey 2. Singing a short song 3. Short dance. Real heartfelt show as you can feel what the 3 stars are looking for and also feel the emotions of those trying out. Give this a chance if interested in seeing a real audition process. Came back to edit their name spelling without a capital to timelesz (no capital letter as they stress that in ep. 2 as one applicant seems to fail the audition for this fatal error of not getting to know them better).

Gajok X Melo (2024)
Ending is blasé
Was prepared to give this a higher rating until the very last episode which was blasé; updates and conclusions of ea. Family member was nothing to rave about and disappointing IMO.
My stars go to the following:
Favorite Couple: Mi-Rae and Security Guard (CEO's son)
Favorite actors: Security Guard, Moo-jin (Mi-Rae's dad), and Mi-Rae.
Best Scene: 2 father's fighting to protect their daughter, son (Mi-Rae's dad &Security Guard's dad the CEO)
Overall was a cute romance with my favorite couple. Story was more about family struggles than romance though as the title might suggest, and the family struggles didn't really interest me that much other than the security guard's career struggle.
Starts off as a murder mystery when the place burns down but later turns into a ridiculous story that didn't seem that humorous to me. The funniest moment IMO was the fight scene between the 2 fathers as it escalates.

When to Send Your Love to Your Best Friend
At what point do you realize it is time to send your love to your best friend? Watch this to find the answer. Perfectly written. Originally added to my watch list solely because I saw it was one of the ML Go's works, but now I discovered ML Jo through this drama as well and he was just fantastic. At first my intention was to watch an Episode here and there in between other dramas (since this was older and missed it when it first came out) but ended up watching continuously as it was better than anything current. FL did great too. Never thought you could make a comedy out of a serious subject but it works.
Big Brother: Episode #26.15 (2024)
Deep Fake Head Of Household
Honestly I did not care for the Deep Fake Head Of Household. While I think it could have been a good idea if the contestant holding the power kept it a secret, but the moment he revealed it the secret got spread to others too. IMO that took all the fun away from the concept of tricking the standing HOA and players. Also it was just all too much as it went on and on and now the last most fun player left (1st M. Then the policeman, now C. (All the cool and fun players), feel like there is no reason to tune in anymore and it almost felt like a set-up. Would rather depend on real people to shake things up not deep fakes.
Love Is Blind: México (2024)
More Of The Same
More of the same - have seen most of the Love Is Blind series. Some loves and some disappointments. Will have to say there are more disappointments in this series than others as the men can't seem to commit yet the women accept that and still agree to continue to see the guy? So what do they want, a free pass for sex but take no responsibility? Maybe the something in the culture? Girls, you are worth it, they were there for a purpose, to propose and find love and a wife and then men say they are in love but wont commit. This version is a little racier than other versions I have seen showing nudity. I think the best thing about this series is the theme song they play after each episode as it does stick in your head after a while.

Entertaining - Survival of the Top Influencer
I watch survivor shows for light entertainment and that is what it is to me. Proved to be entertaining in it's own way. The top 77 influencers in Korea battle it out to win the title of top influencer and a bundle of cash to go along with it. The first episode was a bit hard to get through as each person is introduced and one person seems freakier than the next. Once the show gets started you can see how it is going to be fair as the competitions are designed in unique ways to level the playing field despite one's fame, experience or expected performance of each challenge. A few things were creepy for example wearing the collars, being put in cages and being auctioned off (best influencer bid). Just strange and creepy. Overall entertaining show and with only 7 episodes fun to watch.

So Fun To Watch
The reality of the escape rooms and solving all the clues mixed with the mystery story that goes with it and throw in some horror to go with it as well makes for a fun series to watch. The cast is perfect as well with actors included so they add in an element of helping it all seem real with the expressions on their faces, etc. They get so into it that it is hard to figure out if someone is putting a little acting on or really scared - especially Kim Do-hoon who makes it so fun. Sometimes he is so funny too - a gentleman always taking on the dangerous tasks so the women don't have to do it but then is a scary-cat when doing it. So funny. The escape rooms and codes are all so technical I was curious if Kwang Soo from Season 20 (I'm Solo) had anything to do with helping design the rooms or codes, as if you watch the show you will know he is a premier escape room designer in Korea. It just crossed my mind but can't read the credits since they are sll in Korean. Fun show.

Started To Get Repetitive
I admit I only watched this when I saw it was Go Kyung Pyo starring as the ML in this drama. I have only seen him in Rom-Coms and loved his type of humor - he can be hysterical. So I was really wondering what his acting would be like in a serious role for a change. I was really impressed and he fit the role perfectly which proves he is a really good actor to be able to pull off both types so well. The concept of the drama is interesting and different with the FL conning people but she calls it making a documentary or movie - as she acts out a role. Of course the 2 of them fall in love as they both con each other without the other knowing it. The problem with this drama is the scripting does start to get repetitive for the viewer after awhile as they seem to get in the same kind of serious scraps over and over again with the big guy friend of the FL coming to the rescue. The ending is a little disappointing for me as it is now 4 years later and I have to assume no Season 2 is coming by now. So if it is in the works it is time to do it I would think.
Bling Empire: New York (2023)
This is Why is Watch Korean Shows
After watching this I came to the consensus (once again!) why I watch Korean shows. These Asian Bling shows that have mostly Chinese influence are just so bad. With that said, the only cast member that had any common sense or fashion sense at all was Richard - Vika should be thankful and if not careful her ship might sail as how long would someone capable, good looking wait around? The other cast member that seemed to be a real nice guy was Blake however didn't like his disrespectful remark to the older guy. Blake seems so inclusive to different types of people yet chose showed disrespect to someone much older than him with his comment. Blake may think he was rude but it really was just a generation gap thing and maybe an apology is in order. As far as the older guy goes, it's clear he is ready for a new stage of life and his wife may need to be a little nicer or there may be regrets down the road. All the girls have garish fashion sense and in a couple of scenes you could see the hair extensions showing on the back of their heads. The one girl's wig actually falls off and don't think it was meant to be a comedy? If so, it was delivered badly.
