Strange when I look at the stats of the movie it looks like this movie at one time was supposed to be a series. It plays out like a pilot. It has evidently been on various formats and the format is reviewed as much as the movie.
Well, here we are with a standard formula that you will recognize right off as it has been in many movies since the invention of talkies. Yes, it is one of those "hunt the man down" movies. And this is revealed right up front.
Dodge Tynes (Liam Hemsworth) is sickly and out of funds. His only hope is to be pray for eccentric killers. This is all set up and ran by the mysterious Miles Sellars (Christoph Waltz.)
Now the game is afoot. Is anyone who they claim to be? Who is friend or foe? Maybe the hole this is a setup and then again maybe not. The acting and clues are too transparent. We just want to see if Dodge survives. Or maybe Dodge is the revengeful type. Actually, we do not care.
The worst that can happen is if this turns out to be a pilot for a potential series. Which also means that there may be a lot of loos ends. Nobody likes loose ends.

Nice introductory music, then the presentation goes downhill from there. I have never seen such a poorly organized and inept presentation on any subject. The presenters do not try to take anything out of context because there is no context to take it out of. To give this presentation its length things are repeated and repeated and repeated. There is very little background as to where they get their obscure charts and graphs. I felt like I was watching the "Spam Conspiracy," where they zero in on a monkey face on Mars and see a piece of spam in its teeth.
The presenters include Roger Leir (Host), Jason Martell (UFO Researcher), and Tom Van Flandern (Astronomer). They specialize in this sort of presentation. You might remember Roger Leir from Penn & Teller: Bullshit! (2003) (TV series documentary.)
For those of you who want to know what you have just bypassed, the title says it all. It is sort of a play on words, planet X, X standing for ten, or the mysterious missing 10th planet. (A little spooky music here.)

This documentary has only one big flaw. It is annoyingly organized as a sound bite. Presenter one says something for about 30 seconds, and then presenter two gets 30 seconds, and so on; oh no now it is on a different subject and presenter one says something for about 30 seconds, and them presenter two gets 30 seconds and so on. Can they not let one presenter finish what they have to say then move on to presenter two?
Ignoring the sound bite format this document is an excellent summation of J. R. R. Tolkien. We not only get thee dry facts; we get the feel that we are there. This has visuals of paintings and movie clips to bring us to the point. The point is that there is more depth in Tolkien and his writing that we could have imagined.
It does help if you have read the books as you know more or what they are talking about. However, this presentation can stand on its own and lets you know what to look for when you get around to reading the story in three parts (not a trilogy but a three parter.)
One side note is that today's military is expected to be professional and to think for themselves. So, Tolkien having experienced a real war includes many elements and concepts that are worth understanding and should be required reading. At least watch this documentary.
