Aaron Eckhart is one of the best and most talented actors. No matter what kind of role he played, he just looked the part, the real deal. He played an uniformed cop in this movie and just looked like a cop.
What I have to point out is the bad chasing scenes when he and the kidnapper No.1 like Marathon runners...eh, well, more like supermen. They kept running so long but didn't seem to be tired or even got short breath. Usually, no matter how your cardio condition might be, running so long and still got the strength to fight was just impossible. The chasing scene was just over-the-top ridiculous. I don't know where the kidnapper hid his gun, but during the running, he got no problem to have knife and gun suddenly pulled out like magician is another ridiculous and highly unlikely stupid arrangement. When he ran, we didn't see any place on his body show that he's carrying a knife or a gun, yet he could pull a knife or gun from nowhere.
The thing I hated most when watching a movie was when the director treated us like blind moron. There's no way both guys could run so long and still got the energy and strength to fight, after running so long and so hard, both should be collapsed right away if they stopped. Courtney Eaton played the annoying naive, shallow and self-righteous Ava Brooks role is another reason that made me feel so disgusted. A role that's just felt so ridiculous.

One has to question the intelligence of whomever approves these scripts and plots. Implausible plot, continuity errors, bad jokes, not the greatest cast of actors. Combined, it stank on ice. It was plain stupid. Once again proving that nobody cares about the films they release. Instead, they depend on a stars name to try and sell the crap to the public. Thanks for nothing!
Stopped watching once they introduced the pretentious dumb fake reporter girls...
Just amazed how stupid the girl is.... Bad effects, bad acting, just not believable at all. Aaron is a good action actor but this was really a big lost of time...
Aaron Eckhart is great to watch, but he couldn't save this one from major cringe factors. The two female internet reporters are so clichéd and every single line they uttered made me cringe to the max. They really added nothing to the plot, nor did the entire media narrative element of this story. What's the takeaway? The media are terrible? Or great? Or all women reporters are...? I honestly don't know what the point of it all was. Even the big bad network anchor-another disappointing female character-made me roll my eyes every second she was onscreen because she and everything around her were just so unbelievable. I suspect the executive producers had a hand in injecting some female characters in what might have otherwise been an entertaining action flick; they ruined it. Aaron Eckhart is the one who got the short end of the stick on this. I hope he got paid well.

- Quotes
Ava Brooks: [Frank smashes phone on sidewalk] Dude, you seriously need to switch to decaf.
Frank Penny: No, what I need is a car!
Ava Brooks: Can't you just hot wire that one?
Frank Penny: You watch too much television.
Ava Brooks: I don't own a TV.
Frank Penny: Of course you don't. How 'bout a car? Or do you just float around on patchouli fumes?
