Charlie Cox in Daredevil (2015)

FAQ

Daredevil

FAQ

Yes. It will be returning as Daredevil: Born again. It could be considered a "sequel series" as opposed to a reboot. Charlie Cox is returning as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Others confirmed to return are Deborah Ann-Woll as Karen Page, Elden Hansen as Foggy Nelson, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher.

Matt Murdock appears in both She-Hulk and Spider-Man: No Way Home. He will return, along with most of the other principal characters from this series in Daredevil Born Again.

It was explained in the first scene of the first episode, in the confession booth.

Matt is a firmly christian believer and such, he believes in justice for the good, and punishment for the bad; and when the legal justice fails, he believes to be responsable to do that justice by his hand. Also, he has unique abilities and his father was murdered by gangsters. So beating up criminals and stopping gangsters has a personal motivation for him.

Well, for the rest of the society (and legal matters), he is still blind. Not using the dark glasses could be confusing. Another reason: Foggy said that he should keep the "blind guy appearance" and use it to get simpathy (first, to pick up girls; then to use it in the courtroom).

Yes he is blind. However he can still see the world in a certain respect. He described it as "a world on fire", we see his point of view briefly in an episode. The Daredevil film from 2003 showcases his ability a bit better than the show. Essentially sound vibrations allow him to see his surroundings. Much like a radar sense.

Yes, it takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with such films as Iron Man (2008), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Incredible Hulk (2008), and Avengers Assemble (2012), as well as the TV shows Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013) , Agent Carter (2015) and Jessica Jones (2015). As well as Luke Cage (2016), and Iron Fist (2017).

The show also makes several references to the Avengers film. Such as "after new york was destroyed", or "unless he has a suit of iron or a magic hammer".

Ben Urich's office also contains framed newspaper covers featuring the events in The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers.

Season 1 has been confirmed to take place three years after The Battle of New York.
