I sat down in 2021 to watch the 2020 movie "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove" with my 11 year old son. We were hoping for a wholesome family entertaining movie here from writers Jeffrey Butscher and Chip Fraser.
And while "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove" was watchable, it was just ultimately not an overly impressive movie, as it felt very cluttered and not particularly structured in its storyline. And this definitely held the movie back from properly delivering what was expected.
For a movie made in 2020, then I am just dumbfounded at the horrible green screen scenes in the movie. They were so fake that even a blind man would go "oh you've got to be kidding". And even my son was pointing out how horribly fake it looked. So that was not a great thing for the movie.
I have to admit that I sat down to watch "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove" with somewhat of an expectation to the movie given the fact that the movie had Malcolm McDowell, Eric Balfour, Patrick Muldoon and Denise Richards on the cast list. But after having sat through the entire movie, I am a little bit puzzled at why they were in a movie such as this as it turned out.
Director Rick Spalla didn't really manage to deliver a memorable movie, much less a wholesome entertaining one either. Sure, the movie was watchable, but it was just too mundane and it is one that will quickly fade into oblivion for me.
My rating of "Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate's Cove" lands on a four out of ten stars.
