We thought Jane Austen's Period Drama was one of the funniest films we've ever seen, short or long. It LOOKS like a Jane Austen movie, and the casting and acting are brilliant across the board--but it's a clever, well-paced sendup of the Austen romances that we treasure. Has ever an earnest couple in love had a harder time communicating? How will their relationship survive the constant educational process required for the man to understand the woman's issues? We'd like to see the team that made this Jane Austen's Period Drama short create a feature-length storyline, maybe even a streaming series. It would make Bridgerton seem drab in comparison.
