Based on the novel 'Foregone' by Russell Banks. This marks the second time that Paul Schrader has directed one of Banks' novels for the screen, following his adaptation of Affliction (1997).
Selected to screen in competition at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in 2024. This is the third time that Paul Schrader has had a film in competition at Cannes as a director, following Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) and Patty Hearst (1988).
