Exclusive: Jordana Brewster and Devon Sawa are boarding Spyglass’ original horror rom-com, Heart Eyes, which is currently in production in New Zealand.

They join previously announced Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding.

The Josh Ruben-directed, Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon, and Michael Kennedy-written feature follows a pair of co-workers in Seattle who are pulling overtime on Valentine’s Day. When the Heart Eyes Killer strikes, they’re mistaken for a couple by the elusive couple-hunting killer. The duo are forced to spend the most romantic night of the year running for their lives.

Republic Pictures picked up distribution rights to Heart Eyes excluding the U.S. and Canada.

Landon and Divide/Conquer’s Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks are producing. Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Chris Stone are EPs with Murphy and Mel Turner.

The cast also includes Gigi Zumbado. Zumbado’s previous credits include Kenya Barris’ multi-cam comedy Unrelated and recurring roles on ABC’s Promised Land and Fox’s 9-1-1. Zumbado stars opposite Emile Hirsch and Stephen Dorff in the indie feature The Price We Pay.

Brewster has starred in the $6 billion plus grossing Fast & Furious franchise as Mia Torretto. Her feature credits include Simulant alongside Sam Worthington and Simu Liu, the horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, the cult classic D.E.B.S., the sci-fi horror The Faculty, the drama The Invisible Circus, The Integrity of Joseph Chambers, Hooking Up, Random Acts of Violence, North of Hell, American Heist, Annapolis and Who Invited Charlie?. She can next be seen in the feature film Cellar Door. Brewster is repped by CAA, Principal Entertainment LA, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner Auerbach Hynick Jaime LeVine Sample & Klein.

Sawa starred on the Syfy series Chucky alongside Jennifer Tilly and as Jean Smart’s hunky love interest in Hacks for Max. Sawa also starred opposite Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista in Escape Plan: The Extractors, opposite John Travolta in The Fanatic, and opposite Guy Pearce in Disturbing the Peace. Sawa was on the hit CW show Nikita alongside Maggie Q. The Vancouver, Canada native broke out as a child actor in such movies as Casper, Now and Then, and Little Giants. He went on to star in the New Line horror franchise Final Destination as well as cult pics Idle Hands and Slc Punk. He reprised his Slc Punk role in the sequel Punk’s Dead. Sawa is repped by Gersh, Artists First, and Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson McGinnis Ryan.

Starz has announced the movie and TV titles coming to the service in June. The Starz June 2024 schedule includes the season four premiere of Power Book II: Ghost.

On the film front, Bros, Ticket to Paradise, How I Learned to Fly (featuring Cliff “Method Man” Smith), Get On Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Billy Madison, Carlito’s Way, How High, Jarhead, Law Abiding Citizen, and several other notable titles join the Starz app this month.

You can also celebrate The Karate Kid‘s 40th anniversary with a movie marathon on Starz Encore, beginning Saturday, June 22, at 2:50 p.m. with the classic The Karate Kid (1984) and The Karate Kid Part II.

For a movie so transparently intended to tie up the loose ends of a long-frayed horror franchise that’s only put out prequels for the last 10 years, “Insidious: The Red Door” is a surprisingly accessible introduction to the Lambert family and their unfortunate history of demonic possession. This jolt-happy July programmer might be as dull and rusty as a nail in the coffin could possibly get without breaking apart, but “Insidious” newcomers should rest assured that they’ll be able to follow along with their friends’ exasperation.

One reason you should be able to jump in easily enough: the film starts with young Dalton (Ty Simpkins) and his dad Josh (Patrick Wilson) being hypnotized to forget everything that happened in “Insidious” and “Insidious: Chapter 2,” which effectively puts them on the same page as most of the people in the audience. Heath Freeman, an actor, best known for his roles on Bones and NCIS, has died.

He was 41 years old. No cause of death has been revealed.

Shanna Moakler revealed the news of her friend's death on social media, while his manager, Joe S. Montifore, shared a statement to Deadline.

"We are truly devastated at the loss of our beloved Heath Freeman," Montifore said in the statement.

"A brilliant human being with an intense and soulful spirit, he leaves us with an indelible imprint in our hearts."

"His life was filled with deep loyalty, affection, and generosity towards his family and friends, and an extraordinary zest for life."

Here’s one for any Chicago residents who’ve ever wanted to watch Rosario Dawson try to fend off a crazy, knife-wielding Katherine Heigl without having to worry about breaking the bank. It’s been 15 years since “Donnie Darko” first hit theaters, but audiences are still clamoring to see writer-director Richard Kelly’s 2001 cult classic on the big screen. Arrow Films’ 15th anniversary release has sold out several screenings of a new 4k restoration of the film, which began an exclusive run at the British Film Institute in London on Saturday and expands nationwide in the U.K. on December 23. No plans have been announced regarding a potential release in the U.S.

Set in 1988, the movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a troubled teenager who’s visited at night by an imaginary friend named Frank, a haunting figure wearing a large rabbit suit. Frank tells Donnie that the world will end in 28 days, six hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds, and manipulates him to commit a series of crimes while sleepwalking.

Vertical Entertainment and Xyz Films are embracing seasonal scares by acquiring worldwide distribution rights to Holidays. Featuring segments from directors including Kevin Smith and Starry Eyes’ Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, the horror anthology now has VOD and theatrical release dates and is teased in a new trailer.

Holidays will make its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 14th, and fans won’t have to wait long to see it at home, either, as the film will be released on digital and VOD platforms on April 15th, followed by a theatrical release beginning April 22nd:

Going strong for 36 years, the Razzie Awards once again highlighted the worst projects and poorest talent in the entertainment industry with the announcement of the 2016 winners.

And not entirely surprising, there were actually two films to take home the Worst Picture honor- “Fantastic Four” and “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Along the same lines, “Fifty Shades” costars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson received the Worst Actor and Worst Actress titles, respectively.

Yeah, yeah, the Oscars were last night, congratulations to Leonardo DiCaprio and Spotlight and all, celebration of quality filmmaking, whatever. Let's look at the winners of what really matters: the Razzies!  As is tradition, the Razzie winners were announced the night before the Oscar ceremony. No big surprises here: Fifty Shades of Grey took home most of the "prizes" though Fantastic Four took home a few big ones as well. Both movies tied for Worst Picture. And while Eddie Redmayne may have lost out on the Oscar to DiCaprio, he did get a Razzie for Worst Supporting Actor for Jupiter Ascending. Congratulations, Eddie! It has come to full circle for Sylvester Stallone. The perennial Razzie awardee has just been redeemed! The Oscar frontrunner for Best Supporting Actor (see my full Oscar predictions here) won the Razzie Redeemer Award at the 2016 Golden Raspberry Award. It's all good now Mr. Stallone!

Meanwhile, both "Fantastic Four" and "Fifty Shades of Grey" took home the worst of the worst -- the Worst Picture of the year! They were both so bad that they had to share this dishonor!

While we wait to see who wins at the 88th annual Academy Awards tonight, The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation has announced the winners for the 36th Razzie Awards. These awards celebrate the worst in movie entertainment in 2015. As you might have expected, Fantastic Four and Fifty Shades of Grey swept the awards.

The Razzie Awards have actually managed to stake their claim on a part of the film world now, with their yearly release not going unnoticed by anyone, and this despite the fact that you too can vote for them, as long as you buy in.

This year was bound to be dominated by the biggest winners, because no movie managed more universal hatred than Fifty Shades of Grey (and those who hated it weren’t always waiting for the release), unless it was Fantastic Four and it’s director outrage kurfuffle (he managed his own award as well).

Many of the other awards were largely foregone conclusions as well, mainly because Kevin James, Adam Sandler, and The Chipmunks made movies… or whatever.

Still, worst movies and performances make for tricky voting. It’s hard to pick among the nominees sometimes, which explains the dual win for overall worst picture, but...

While Hollywood is getting ready to celebrate itself with the Oscars, we must not forgot those films that were absolutely shite. Thankfully for the 36th year in a row The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation has shined a light on the best of the worst announcing the winners for the Razzie Awards 2016.

There was tough competition but the big "winners" were '50 Shades of Grey' and 'The Fantastic Four' reboot. However the real winner of the night was all time razzi champ Sylvester Stallone who took home the Razzie Redeemer award for his work in 'Creed.'

It sounds like we already have our first great horror movie of 2016. Following its much talked about screenings at Sundance, the Farsi-language horror movie Under The Shadow is set for a worldwide release, thanks to Vertical Entertainment, Netflix, and Xyz Films:

Los Angeles, CA (January 23, 2016) – Vertical Entertainment and Xyz Films have partnered for global distribution of the Farsi-language horror thriller Under The Shadow, which will have its world premiere at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival. The companies will coordinate a global day-and-date release on digital and VOD platforms, alongside a targeted theatrical release in select territories. Netflix will release the film worldwide shortly after the theatrical and transactional debut. The release date is still to be announced.

Under The Shadow is written and directed by British / Iranian Babak Anvari and stars Narges Rashidi, Avin Manshadi and Bobby Naderi. The film is produced by Lucan Toh, Oliver Roskill and Emily Leo of Wigwam Films.

While most of the Tinseltown contingent is busy handing out trophies and pats on the back, the Razzies judges are releasing their picks for the entertainment industry’s weakest work over the past year.

The 2016 Razzies nominees include some pretty obvious mentions, such as Worst Picture picks “Fifty Shades of Grey,” “Fantastic Four,” “Jupiter Ascending,” “Pixels,” and “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.”

Actually, “Fifty Shades” also earned nods for director Sam Taylor-Johnson and stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, with six nominations in total.

Over 800 people worldwide predicted the Razzie Awards nominees. Our scoring champ only missed three slots out of the 40 available across eight categories. He had Reese Witherspoon ("Hot Pursuit") instead of Katherine Heigl ("Home Sweet Hell") as Worst Actress. He took Ellen Barkin ("The Cobbler") in place of Julianne Moore ("Seventh Son") for Worst Supporting Actress. The third miss was "Pixels" instead of Fifty Shades of Grey" for Best Director. The nominations for the 36th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards have been announced and it's packed full of all the worst things in movies that we saw in 2015. Josh Trank's utterly terrible film Fantastic Four was unsurprisingly nominated for 5 awards this year including Worst Picture and Worst Director. 

Other films included on the list include Fifty Shades of Grey, Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, Pixels, and Jupiter Ascending. Some of the worst actors on the list of nominations include Johnny Depp, Kevin James, Adam Sandler, Channing Tatum, Katherine Heigl, Mila Kunis and Dakota Johnson.

There are a lot of terrible movies up for awards this year, so it's hard to predict who will win. But I think Fantastic Four and Fifty Shades of Grey will walk away with the majority of them. The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation has announced the nominations for the 36th annual Razzie Awards celebrating the worst in cinema. Winners will be announced on February 27th, the day before the Oscars are handed out.

Winners are determined by seeking online votes from over 900 Voting Razzie Members throughout 47 U.S. states and 21 foreign countries. The Razzie Redeemer Award, which acknowledges past Razzie winners who've gone on to do better work, the honoree will be decided by a public vote of users at popular movie review website Rotten Tomatoes. Yes, it's that time of the year again! The day before Hollywood pats itself on the back with Oscar nominations, the Razzies show up to remind everyone why Hollywood deserves a few raspberries with the champagne.

Besides as Jean-Ralphio could tell you, there's nothing more fun than honoring the wooooorst:

This year, there's a four-way tie for the dubious honor of most Razzie Award nominations: "Fifty Shades of Grey," "Pixels," "Jupiter Ascending," and "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2" got six nods. That, at least, is some small consolation for "Fantastic Four," which walked away with "only" five nominations. And "Pan," "Mortdecai," and "Human Centipede 3" were seriously let off the hook. A Most Violent Year I was not the fan most were of J.C. Chandor's A Most Violent Year. Broadly drawn, familiar scenarios littered with quirky supporting characters comprise this crude lump of a movie, hewn from the burnt stump of privileged suburban malaise, a dish once perfected now over baked into mutations of vulgar shock effect. 2010′s Skateland, a Sundance Dramatic Comp entry played well in Park City and it found tlc support but the coming-of-ager didn’t find it’s audience when released theatrically so we’re hoping that Anthony Burns’ North of Hell (a dramedy with a little more acting clout) retains some of the filmmaker’s atmospheric prowess.

Gist: Based on a story by Carlo Allen, Ted Elrick and Tom Lavagnino, and scripted by Anthony Burns, this is about a seductive and scheming new hire causes dangerous problems for a businessman who is married to a bi-polar, obsessive-compulsive woman.

Release Date: With Sundance out of the equation, we now think this could land at Tribeca or Tiff.

We were big fans of Anthony Burns’ debut film, the visually strong coming-of-ager sans pretension and a nod to the Dazed and Confused sorts with just the right character set. Skateland deserved a little more fanfare than the one it got back in 2011, but Burns round two North of Hell, should receive a lot more fanfare with its cast alone. Pitting Patrick Wilson, Jordana Brewster, Kevin McKidd with Katherine Heigl, this dramedy began shooting in March-ish of this year…so we’re banking on this being already prepped for festival season.

The film is set to start shooting on October 28.

Jenny’S Wedding revolves around Jenny (Heigl) who causes a massive sea-change in the lives of her closely knit, highly conventional family when she finally decides to marry. A pretty and engaging woman, everyone is baffled by Jenny’s lack of a love-life, and her parents (Wilkinson, Emond) particularly have been anxious for her to settle down, but when the announcement comes that she is finally going to wed, her choice of partner tears the family apart. In order to reconnect, everyone including Jenny, must reinvent themselves.
