Peyton Meyer has joined the cast of “Days of our Lives” in the newly created role of Doug Williams III, the grandson of the late Doug Williams (played by the late Bill Hayes). His first airdate is set for Tuesday, December 3.
Fans first got a glimpse of Meyer earlier this month when he appeared in the “Day of Days” sneak peek highlighting what’s to come on the daytime drama series this season.
In an interview with TV Insider, Meyer describes his character as a “mischievous” young man, similar to how the first Doug Williams was introduced in 1970. “He’s in and out of trouble. No matter where he goes, chaos comes with him. He’s not purposefully mischievous or purposefully wishes harm on people,” Meyer notes. “I think it’s just how he grew up, that everything he does ends up causing a bad karmic chaos storm behind him.

Actress Francesca Capaldi gave a review of her latest movie Stinky Summer in her new uInterview.
Capaldi discussed how her character fits into the plot. “I play Emily, who is the eldest sister in the family,” she told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “Emily is a little bit—she’s a rule-follower, she’s by-the-book, she’s a bookworm, and she kind of does her part to keep the family together as they’re all very busy and they all have very chaotic lives. So she definitely takes on the role of mom to her older sister and younger sisters for sure.”
As overview for the movie, Capaldi explained, “It is a super fun one about a girl and…a skunk who kind of crash the party as she’s on the way to summer camp.”

Since 1992, the TV academy has honored the work of voice actors almost annually, beginning with half a dozen cast members from “The Simpsons.” From 2014 onward, the Best Voice-Over Performance award has been bestowed separately from the Best Narrator one, with the inaugural recipient of the former prize having been Harry Shearer of “The Simpsons.” This year’s lineup features seven nominees, including one former winner and two posthumous contenders.
Maya Rudolph, who took this award in 2020 and 2021 for “Big Mouth,” is now seeking her third win for the same show. She is involved in her second consecutive rematches with Julie Andrews (“Bridgerton”), Stanley Tucci (“Central Park”) and Jessica Walter (“Archer”), the last of whom is on her second post-death bid in a row. The remaining three slots are filled by category newcomers F. Murray Abraham (“Moon Knight”) and “What If…?” duo Chadwick Boseman (who died in August 2020) and Jeffrey Wright.

Robin Thede predicted the end of the world in her HBO sketch comedy A Black Lady Sketch Show.
One of the first sketches in the six-part series, which launched in August 2019, features Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Quinta Brunson and Gabrielle Dennis, dealing with “The Event,” which runs through the series.
“When I brought that idea into our writers room, I had a fever dream, literally like a sweating dream in the middle of the night,” Thede tells Deadline. “I woke up, wrote it on two sides of a paper, single-spaced, in this chicken scratch, and brought it into the writers. I said, ‘This is what the interstitials are going to be. This is what we’re going to do.’ And they all just looked at me like I was insane. They were like, ‘You need more sleep.’ But, it turned out to be prophetic, in so many ways.”

That’s probably because American Vandal, a new Netflix series announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, isn’t your typical true-crime doc. In fact, there’s (spoiler alert!) nothing “true” about it.

Chicago – From “Mr. Ed” to “Dog with a Blog,” talking animals have had their place on TV. The latest has origins as a web series, with the clever title “Downward Dog.” The show premieres on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 (9:30pEST/8:30pCST), on ABC TV, and features Ned the Dog as Martin, and human companions portrayed by Allison Tolman and Lucas Neff.

Allison is Nan, a Pittsburgh marketing guru for a retail company, who has just broke up with her on-again/off-again boyfriend Jason (Lucas Neff). Through it all, her loyal dog Martin (Ned, voice of Samm Hodges) narrates her twenty-something adventures, which includes workplace pals Jenn (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) and boss man Kevin (Barry Rothbart). Between her personal life and work life, Nan tries to balance her emotions and romance, all while Martin just wants more attention and love.

“Downward Dog” was born nearly five years ago, and it all started when creators Michael Killen and Samm Hodges came across the Disney Channel series “Dog with a Blog.”
Killen, the owner of a Pittsburgh VFX production house, was aghast. As one of the minds behind Taco Bell’s infamous talking chihuahua, he had been hoping to do a show about talking animals for years. But this wasn’t it.

“I come in early one morning and my boss Michael looks distraught,” recalled Hodges, who was a commercial director at Killen’s company. “‘They took my idea,’ he says, ‘and they made a mess of it.'”
Killen then suggested that Hodges write it. Later that night, that’s exactly what Hodges did – and so began a wild ride that led from web short to ABC pilot,...

It’s been 20 years since the Tanners were on television, and Netflix‘ Fuller House is an effort that had a lot of people wondering if the world really wanted to revisit the family. The theory of the show has a lot going for it, but audiences need to see things through a very specific lens.
In a world with more sequels, reboots, and reimaginings than it needs, and with the popularity (or at least Roi) of several film trips to the 80s, it just isn’t that strange to take another ride with a popular show.
That said, it can’t go unmentioned that Fuller House isn’t a good show. It just isn’t. But, it isn’t a terrible show either, and you’ve got to remember that it isn’t a look back to a good show, so you need to accurately set your bar.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to attend an early press day for Jon Favreau’s upcoming adaptation of The Jungle Book. Just to let you know up front where I was coming from in regards to this movie: I didn’t go to D23 last year, so up until this point I hadn’t seen any footage aside from what was in the first trailer — and to be frank, I wasn’t super impressed with that. I recently rewatched the 1967 Disney animated movie for the first time in probably 20 years, and even though I enjoyed it as a kid, I found it to be a lot less engaging than I remembered. So you can understand whey I went into this presentation with incredibly low expectations, and even thinking it might be a waste of time.
But what I saw blew me away.

Jon Favreau’s Jungle Book is part of a big Disney effort to remake several of their animated classics into live action films — though in the case of The Jungle Book, much of the new film is an animated, motion-captured visual effects marvel. To craft a believable CG jungle and the animals that inhabit it, Favreau’s team of VFX artists had to figure out how to make their Bagheera and King Louie and all the other creatures as realistic as possible. Essential to making them look real, they realized, was avoiding having their animals maneuver in a way they wouldn’t in reality — the physics had to be real. The one major exception: These animals talk. Just about everything else about these animals’ physicality aims for reality, except for their ability to speak English words. At a press event for the film last month, I asked Favreau and VFX supervisor Rob Legato about that.

In this new Golden Age of TV, where great shows are available in abundance, only no one has time to watch them all — least of all the people who actually work in television, and thus vote for the Emmys — the only way to look at each year's Emmy nominations is to treat them like the theme song from "The Facts of Life." You take the good, you take the bad, you take 'em both, and there you have this year's Emmy nominees list. So there were pleasant surprises, like Tatiana Maslany finally getting into the lead drama actress field, and "Parks and Recreation" making its way back into the comedy series category for its triumphant final season after only being nominated there once before. But there was also the usual rubber stamping of past nominees(*), like "Downton Abbey," "Homeland" and "House of Cards" taking up three of the seven drama...
