The upcoming TV series It: Welcome to Derry, which will serve as a prequel to Warner Bros’ two-part adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel It (pick up a copy Here), was originally meant to be for the Max streaming service, but we recently learned that it will be airing on HBO as well. The show went into production in Port Hope, Ontario at the end of last year, aiming for a 2025 premiere, and wrapped in August after 237 shooting days. Bill Skarsgard came back to reprise the role of Pennywise, the evil clown – and during an interview with SFX magazine, Skarsgard discussed what it was like to play Pennywise again, hyping up the show a bit without revealing anything.

Exclusive: TriStar Pictures has pre-emptively acquired comedy pitch The Breadwinner from stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze and Dan Lagana, with Bargatze attached to star. This will mark Bargatze’s first starring role in a feature film. He will also produce alongside Lagana. Jeremy Latcham is producing via Wonder Project.

The project is in early development, with Bargatze and Lagana currently writing the script. The comedy plot is being kept under wraps.

Bargatze, widely known for his clean and relatable comedy for all ages, is the No. 1-earning comedian in the world according to Pollstar and currently selling out shows on his global The Be Funny tour. THR reports that Mendes will join Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man. West Side Story actor Kyle Allen was previously attached to play the muscle-bound hero.

Teela has been a permanent fixture of the Motu franchise ever since those first mini-comics, and is usually depicted as Prince Adam's protector and He-Man's right-hand woman/love-interest.

Plot details are being kept under wraps,” but according to a prior synopsis from the studio, “Masters of the Universe” follows Prince Adam of Eternia aka He-Man, who crashes to Earth in a spaceship as a child and, decades later, returns to his home planet to defend it from the evil forces of the baddie known as Skeletor. Camila Mendes (Riverdale) has landed the role of Teela in the forthcoming, live-action Masters of the Universe film from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, Deadline has learned.

Mendes stars opposite the previously announced Nicholas Galitzine, who plays He-Man. Her character, Teela, is a warrior who as Captain of Eternia’s Royal Guard, is responsible for protecting the royal family, especially Prince Adam aka He-Man.

Based on the iconic Mattel franchise, the film’s plot is being closely guarded. Laika’s Travis Knight is directing the pic from a screenplay by Chris Butler. David Callaham and Aaron and Adam Nee worked on the initial draft. Previously in development at Sony and Netflix, Masters of the Universe is being produced by Escape Artists and Mattel Films for release exclusively in theaters worldwide on June 5, 2026.

Sony’s reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” has found its principal cast.

Camila Mendes, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Haur-King are in talks to join the cast of the 1997 horror flick’s redux.

The original film followed four young friends bound by a tragic accident who are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac. The film became a cult classic, earned over $125 million worldwide and led to the sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.” Original stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt are in talks to return.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (“Do Revenge”) is directing the film, which is written by Sam Lansky and Kaytin Robinson off a draft by Leah McKendrick. Neal Moritz is producing.

Sony Pictures will release the film in theaters on July 18, 2025.

When Fuerza Régida frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz sat down with Rolling Stone late last year, a phone call from Myke Towers interrupted the interview. The night prior, the two had hit the studio in Miami.

“He said he fucks with my music,” Ortiz said at the time. “Hopefully we do a collab… We want to go global, but never forget about our roots.”

Now, that Towers-Fuerza Régida song is finally here. On Friday, the Mexican-American band and Puerto Rican star released “Pariente,” Towers’ first foray into corridos and Música Mexicana.

Hacohen also signed Saturday Night Live breakout talent Please Don’t Destroy – a comedy trio consisting of Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy – whose film, produced by Judd Apatow will premiere this summer.

Other clients include Anna Drezen, Punkie Johnson (SNL), Joel Kim Booster (Fire Island, Loot), Byron Wu (The Brothers Sun), Nicole Byer (Grand Crew, Nailed It), and Shiva Baby writer/director Emma Seligman and actor/writer Rachel Sennott, whose sophomore film Bottoms premieres this spring. A new trailer for the Netflix black comedy Do Revenge dropped on Tuesday, offering a further glimpse into the bubblegum, sugarcoated world of director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s latest endeavor.

Do Revenge stars Riverdale’s Camila Mendes and Stranger Things’ Maya Hawke as two high school students who’ve had their social lives ruined by their respective loose-lipped exes. In an effort to exact their titular revenge, the pair decide to employ each other to inflict the punishments they’re hesitant to bestow upon their own tormentors. The premise evokes stories like Patricia Highsmith’s Strangers On A Train or the cult dark comedy film Heathers, while the trailer’s aesthetics call to mind recent movies like Promising Young Woman and Ingrid Goes West.

Maya Hawke leads Netflix dark comedy “Do Revenge” alongside Camila Mendes, about popular high schooler Drea (Mendes) who seeks retaliation against her ex-boyfriend (Austin Abrams of “Euphoria” fame) after a very public sexting scandal. Enter: Eleanor, played by Hawke, who also has a score to settle involving a rumor she tried to “hold down” another classmate and kiss her.

“I know what it’s like to get fucked over by someone you thought you could trust,” Hawke says in the candy-colored trailer reminiscent of “Thoroughbreds.”

She adds of her target, “I want to burn her to the ground.”

Co-written and directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, “Do Revenge” is billed as a “subverted Hitchcockian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.” The film premieres September 16 on Netflix.
