Women Seeking Women 185

Girlfriends' "Women Seeking Women" series of videos has plummeted in quality quite drastically in recent years, as evidenced by this lousy release set at a lesbian rehab center. The series has been ridiculously awarded "Best Lesbian Series" for the third decade in a row by AVN soon after Volume 185 came out on VOD. Comparing Porn to Mainstream, AVN awards are clearly as phony as the recently disgraced Golden Globes, both designed as mere marketing ploys.

Uncredited director B. Skow (whose takeover at Girlfriends coincides with the label's descent toward the bottom of the porn barrel) presents very poor transitions between the stand-alone sex vignettes, adding little to the package. Kay Carter is a blonde who is running the rehab programs, and gets to hump patient Nikki Sweet in the bargain. This Nikki Sweet is not to be confused with a lovely Euro porn actress by that name.

In the intro to another segment, we're told Kay has suddenly left the place, and co-worker (and also blonde) Serene Siren takes over running the show (she happens to be a contract player for Girlfriends). She gets to have sex with fellow blonde Tiff Watson, latter overacting like crazy as a crazy lady. Tiff now has a very fake look, with enhanced boobs and fake eyelashes rivaling the moth-like look of queen of eye-hair Aila Donovan.

Poorest acting here is by Macy Meadows, a petite girl who recites her dialog without any emotion at all. She's rewarded by being featured in two separate scenes, running well over an hour. First she's seduced by fellow "inmate" Sera Ryder, who wants to escape with her from rehab. Like Kay, Sera is dropped from the story suddenly, and Macy gets to have interracial sex with fan fave Ember Snow in the final vignette. (Note that Girlfriends cast Madi Meadows, a buxom and dissimilar actress, in the next Volume 186 of the series -I was initially wondering about misspellings in seeing the Macy vs. Madi credits on screen.)
