Not having looked up the actors or the creators though, The series feels like a B series show, or like a soap opera of the sitcoms. Maybe the actors usually star in such movies, maybe the director has a hand for that genre. But the mix of working class people and their jobs, serious problems that they have and comical situations that are not instant, but diluted throughout the entire episodes sure gives that feeling of programmed fun. Programmed to be understood by everybody, to stir some empathy in the tired employee watching in the evening, in the younger and naive office girl, in the retired couple who occupy their late years trying not to remain out of touch with the modern world. It vaguely triggers memories of Peep Show, probably because of the suffocating office world feeling. It is much more traditional, yet not dumb, so far. It remains to be seen where is it going, because this closed universe and tiny everyday issues are starting to seem tiring.
I really do like the show I just found it I know it's off the air now but my goodness Lisa needs to take a chill pill I couldn't be with someone who nags constantly and she such a hypocrite she sitting there flirting with Todd OK and then she's gonna jump in to her husband's ass constantly she is the nagging ass woman I have ever seen my goodness I really like her but why are they going to make her out to be a really and please tell me that the little girl that sits across from her is not that stupid really my goodness he's never going to leave his wife dingdong. I really feel like I'm watching an American show I watch shows from across the pond because you're more realistic I know it's a comedy but come on people this is too much like American I do like the show but some of it is yeah
Sorry I meant jackWhen I was talking about Lisa I meant Jack I don't know why I said Todd I just don't like it when women are hypocrites and I mean goodness give your husband a break I really like her she's pretty and I like how she's got it together but then she's come on y'all could've made her better than that and she's the biggest nag of ever heard sweet lord Jesus even I was getting tired of hearing it
I found Mount Pleasant cast to be whiners with screeching voices. Plus I can't stand shows where in-laws just barge in and have no common sense. Every minute seemed to be people arguing.
Is everyone an alcoholic on this show? Maybe I'm used to watching shows here in the US but it's rare to see this much constant heavy drinking in any comedy/drama like this genre.
None of the characters can seemingly do anything without either a beer or glass of wine in their hand. Or a shot, or a margarita, or vodka. It's ridiculous. The only exception I can see is maybe Lisa's parents who are delightful. As is the intelligent neighbor guy. Snappy dialogue as well and quirky story arcs.
I've really enjoyed Lisa in Madame Blanc. She's much better utilized there. The nonstop booze turned me off on this one, tho, so moving on.
