Marvel Studios currently has several movies in development, with one of the most notable being ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ Based on early comments from viewers, it’s expected to rejuvenate faith in the MCU among fans.

Reportedly, this movie was chosen as the sole release for 2024 following disappointing performances of ‘The Marvels’ and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.’

According to Daniel Richtman, a well-known source, director Shawn Levy has impressed MCU executives, leading to expectations of more projects for him in the future.

Shawn Levy began his career directing television and gained fame in the 2000s with comedies like ‘Big Fat Liar’ and ‘Just Married.’ He went on to helm successful franchises such as ‘Cheaper by the Dozen,’ ‘The Pink Panther,’ and ‘Night at the Museum.’ In the early 2010s, Levy directed ‘Date Night’ and ‘Real Steel,’ alongside developing TV pilots and producing ‘Last Man Standing.’

“The Last of Us” Season 2 has officially cast Kaitlyn Dever, Variety has learned.

Dever joins the hit HBO show in the role of Abby, who is described as “a skilled soldier whose black-and-white view of the world is challenged as she seeks vengeance for those she loved.”

“Our casting process for season two has been identical to season one: we look for world-class actors who embody the souls of the characters in the source material,” said series co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. “Nothing matters more than talent, and we’re thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro, Bella and the rest of our family.”

Dever’s past TV credits include shows like “Last Man Standing,” “Justified,””Unbelievable,” and “Dopesick.” On the film side, she has starred in features such as “Booksmart,” “Rosaline,” “Next Goal Wins,” and “No One Will Save You,” the last of which she also executive produced.

Netflix’s Geeked Week is underway, and the streamer is celebrating the impending arrival of its dark comedy series, The Brothers Sun, with a new teaser poster. The brightly lit preview features the project’s fantastic cast, led by Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh. The image depicts a gigantic sign for San Gabriel Plaza, with the names of cast members appearing like different stores in the commercial development.

In The Brothers Sun, Yeoh plays Eileen Sun, aka Mama Sun, a Taiwanese woman hoping to leave her past behind by moving to L.A. only to find herself in danger when her crime boss husband is killed.

Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen cooked up Thursday’s top-rated show in broadcast primetime, drawing a 0.7 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 2.76 million viewers. It helped the network tie for the best rating of the night overall with ABC, which blanketed its lineup with Celebrity Wheel of Fortune encores.

Fox was aided by fresh episodes of rookie Call Me Kat, which dipped a tenth week over week, and Last Man Standing, which was even.

CBS was tops in viewership in last night’s rankings with a repeat of Young Sheldon the only show among the Big 4 and the CW to crack 4 million viewers in Nielsen Live+Same Day fast affiliates. It was followed by encores of B Positive and Mom, leading into new offerings of The Unicorn, up a tenth, and the season finale of CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery which was steady.

The CW’s “Legacies” saw its audience for Thursday’s musical episode, a tribute to its parent series “The Vampire Diaries,” dip from last week’s installment. Airing at 9 p.m., “Salvatore: The Musical!” episode of “Legacies” got a 0.2 rating in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic, even with the prior week’s demo rating, and 635,000 viewers, down from the 733,000 viewers last Thursday’s episode received. To be fair to “Legacies,” the audience for its already-hit lead-in series, “Walker,” was down, too. The CW's freshly renewed Walker lost a bit of steam Thursday night.

Walker Season 1 Episode 3 had 1.87 million viewers and a 0.30 rating in the demo, down from last week's 2.11 million viewers and a 0.34.

The numbers remain above average for The CW, so the series remains in good standing at the network.

Earlier this week, The CW ordered an additional five episodes for Walker Season 1, while ordering up a second season, so it is very happy with the performance to date.

Out of Walker, Legacies was down a tick in total viewers, but steady in the demo.

The highly-anticipated episode had 635,000 viewers and a 0.20 rating in the demo.

Legacies Season 4 was confirmed earlier this week.

Hell's Kitchen (2.8 million/0.7 rating) on Fox was steady, while Call Me Kat (2.5 million/0.5 rating) and Last Man Standing (2.5 million/0.4 rating) were on par with their last few episodes.

Last night’s episode of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” at 8 p.m., the star-studded ABC spinoff of the original game show led by Pat Sajak and Vanna White, was the winner of Thursday’s Live+Same Day overnight, fast affiliate numbers. The series garnered a 0.8 rating in the key, adults ages 18-49 demographic, and 6.39 million viewers.

The rest of ABC’s slate for Thursday night included a new episode of “The Chase” at 9 p.m., which earned a 0.6 rating in the key demo and 4.72 million viewers, and “The Hustlers” in the next hour-long broadcast window, which drew a 0.5 in the key demo and 2.98 million viewers.

Elsewhere on television, Fox aired a new episode of “Hell’s Kitchen” at 8 p.m., which attracted 2.49 million viewers and a 0.7 in the 18-49 demo, ranking in second place for the night’s telecasts overall. The network also dropped new episodes of “Call Me Kat” at 9 p.

ABC’s Celebrity Wheel of Fortune kept up its pace Thursday, scoring a night-leading 0.8 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 6.39 million viewers. The network’s lineup that included fellow game shows The Chase and The Hustler helped ABC top primetime in total viewers.

Wheel and Hustler were even with last week’s Nielsen Live+Same Day fast affiliates, while The Chase dropped a tenth.

ABC tied for the nightly demo win with Fox, which saw Hell’s Kitchen and Last Man Standing steady with last week and bookending Call Me Kat, which got a tenth bump to match the demo it got in its time-period premiere January 8.

The series held 81% in the demo and 86% of total viewers from last week's debut, a decent hold week-to-week.

Reboots, in general, typically have bigger drop-offs post-premiere due to the curiosity factor wearing off.

After that, Legacies Season 3 Episode 2 perked up to 733,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the demo, up a bit from last week's premiere.

Over on ABC, its game show line-up continued to sink, with Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (6.4 million/0.8 rating) and The Chase (4.7 million/0.6 rating) losing more ground.

The Hustler was steady at 3 million viewers and a 0.5 rating.

Over on Fox, Call Me Kat (2.4 million/0.6 rating) was up a tenth vs. last week, while Hell's Kitchen (2.5 million/0.7 rating) and Last Man Standing (2.5 million/0.4 rating) were steady.

Though it wasn’t the “winner” of Thursday’s Nielsen Live+Same Day fast affiliate rankings, The CW’s latest series, a Jared Padalecki-fronted reboot of “Walker, Texas Ranger” entitled “Walker” performed outstandingly well compared to the network’s numbers these past couple of weeks. It attracted roughly 2.4 million viewers to the small screen and earned a rating of 0.4 in the key, adults ages 18-49 demographic.

Instead, CBS’ sitcom spinoff “Young Sheldon,” which, like its predecessor “The Big Bang Theory,” is created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, took the cake on Thursday night for the network: the winter return of the series garnered a 0.8 rating in the key demo and 7.5 million viewers.

Elsewhere on television at 8 p.m., ABC’s “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” which is like the classic Pat Sajak and Vanna White-led game show but with— you guessed it— celebrities drew a 0.8 rating in the key demo and 6.1 million viewers.

The CW’s series premiere of Walker drew a 0.4 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 2.43 million viewers Thursday, sparking the network’s most watched Thursday primetime since 2018.

The series, which starts Supernatural alum Jared Padalecki in a revival of the Chuck Norris-starring CBS action drama that ran from 1993-2001, debuted with the most watched telecast in the 8 p.m. Thursday time slot for CW since December 2016 (a DC’s Legends of Tomorrow episode). Last night, Walker led into the Season 3 bow of Legacies, which grew in viewers from last year’s finale per Nielsen’s Live+Same Day fast affiliates.

ABC won the night in both the demo and viewers with its game show lineup of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, which saw a three-tenths dip from last week, followed by The Chase and The Hustler, both off a tenth.

It was a big night for The CW.

The network's return to original programming continued with Walker's series premiere and the return of Legacies.

Walker Season 1 Episode 1 packed a punch in total viewers, drawing 2.4 million total viewers.

This number is the network's largest audience since January 2018, and the largest in the slot since December 2016.

In the demo, the Jared Padalecki-fronted reboot of the Chuck Norris classic had a 0.4 rating.

Last season, the top show on The CW was The Flash at 1.3 million viewers and a 0.4 rating, so this is a winning start for Walker.

The large tune-in could be attributed to the fact this is a reboot of a beloved series, and of course, Padalecki, who recently wrapped a 15-year run on Supernatural.

After that, Legacies Season 3 Episode 1 had 0.7 million viewers and a 0.2 rating -- right on par with last season's average.

In the latest TV show ratings, Walker debuted to 2.43 million total viewers and a 0.4 demo rating, giving the CW time slot its largest audience in more than four years (since a December 2016 episode of Legends of Tomorrow) and leading the network to its most watched Thursday in nearly three years (since March 29, 2018).

In fact, Walker’s premiere was The CW’s most watched telecast of any kind since the Jan. 30, 2018 episode of The Flash, and the network’s most watched season premiere since The Flash Season 4 (in October 2017).

The NBC comedy “Mr. Mayor” got a good start in the overnight ratings in its Thursday night debut.

The series, which hails from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and stars Ted Danson, aired episodes at both 8 p.m. and 8:30. The first episode drew a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 4.9 million viewers, while the second drew a 0.5 and 4.3 million viewers.

The ratings for the first episode represent NBC’s best comedy premiere in the key demo since 2018 and its best comedy premiere in total viewers since 2017.

Later on NBC, a new episode of “Law & Order: Svu” drew a 0.6 and 3.8 million viewers

The prognosis is not good for Call Me Kat.

The Mayim Bialik-fronted comedy launched in its regular slot on Thursday, and it did so with considerably fewer viewers.

It delivered 3.2 million total viewers and a 0.6 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.

This is down 43% in total viewers and 56% in the demo vs. its series debut.

Granted, the premiere benefited from a football overrun.

Last Man Standing (3.3 million/0.5 rating) followed with a big surge in total viewers, but steady in the demo for its Home Improvement crossover.

Earlier on NBC's night, Hell's Kitchen returned to 2.7 million total viewers and a 0.7 rating in the demo.

Over on NBC, the series debut of Mr. Mayor did 4.7 million viewers and a 0.6 rating.

A big return on Svu followed with 3.8 million viewers and a 0.6 rating.

ABC's decision to postpone the returns of its scripted shows on the night appears to have paid off.

In the latest TV show ratings, ABC’s first spin of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune dominated Thursday in both the demo (with a 1.1 rating) and in total audience (drawing 7.8 million viewers).

Leading out of that, The Chase‘s premiere retained 6.2 mil and a 0.9, while The Hustler (3.8 mil/0.7) improved on Monday’s post-Bachelor preview.

Tim Allen reprised his role as Home Improvement‘s Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor during Thursday’s Last Man Standing. In the episode, Vanessa hired the former Tool Time host (who was sporting a vintage Binford Tools t-shirt) to handle a series of home repairs. The half-hour concluded with a very meta conversation between Allen’s alter egos, which also alluded to the Fox sitcom’s fast-approaching series finale.

Tim Allen will be pulling double duty on Thursday’s episode of the ninth and final season of “Last Man Standing,” playing both the Fox comedy’s lead character, Mike Baxter, and reprising his iconic role of Tim Taylor from ABC’s “Home Improvement.” And TheWrap has the exclusive sneak peek at the first meeting between Allen’s two alter egos.

And, as you might imagine, shooting the last episodes of a multi-cam sitcom during a pandemic is not as much fun — mainly because a large studio audience is no longer safe. The fog of reruns from the 2020 holidays has lifted. On Sunday night, networks returned to their regularly scheduled programming (more or less) with a combination of new shows and the return of some favorites.

One of the only programs that didn’t take a holiday break was NBC’s Sunday Night Football, which held steady with last week delivering a 3.8 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 13.77 million viewers who watched Washington beat Philadelphia and secure a postseason berth in the regular-season finale.

The SNF numbers are likely to be adjusted in finals, with NFL overrun also impacting programming on CBS and Fox.

Fox started the new year with the series premiere of Call Me Kat starring Mayim Bialik, which did Ok. Boosted by an outsized NFL lead-in, the comedy topped the evening in non-nfl fare in early Nielsen Live+Same Day numbers, for now making it the best...

Following football, Mayim Bialik’s “Call Me Kat” got off to a pretty good start Sunday on Fox. But were the strong (initial) Nielsen numbers a reflection of the series premiere itself, or the scheduling? The new sitcom wasn’t Fox’s sole noteworthy premiere last night. The broadcast network also debuted new animated show “The Great North” and premiered the ninth and final season of “Last Man Standing.” Due to the nature of live sports, the below Nielsen numbers for NBC, Fox and CBS should be considered subject to significant adjustment. Those Nielsen numbers are the averages of NFL pregame show “Football Night in America” and the Washington Football Team vs.

Fox tried switching things up on Sunday. 

The broadcast network opted to air some live-action comedies on the night for the first time in an attempt to utilize a football overrun to boost the shows. 

Call Me Kat, a remake of British sitcom Miranda, launched with 5.4 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the demo. 

This is a solid opening, but the true test will be whether the Mayim Bialik-fronted comedy can hold up when it moves to Thursdays after the sneak peek on Sundays. 

The series premiere of the animated series The Great North followed with a mere 2.3 million viewers and a 0.6 rating. 

While this is a big drop from Call Me Kat, the new series was on par with recent ratings for Family Guy and Bob's Burgers. 

The Simpsons followed with an anemic 1.7 million viewers and a 0.5 rating. 

The big disappointment on the night, however, was Last Man Standing.

In the latest TV show ratings, Fox’s Call Me Kat sneak-previewed to 5.4 million total viewers and a 1.3 demo rating (leading out of The Ot), easily topping all of Sunday’s non-nfl fare in the demo and trailing only CBS’ 60 Minutes in audience.

TVLine readers gave the Mayim Bialik-led Miranda remake an average grade of “C-.”

On Last Man Standing Season 9 Episode 1, the series returned after a lengthy hiatus with a series of time jumps. 

We got to witness Vanessa and Mike getting two new grandchildren, while Mandy and Kyle moved in with them. 

Unfortunately, the two sides bickered over how to navigate the pandemic. 

Meanwhile, Chuck desperately hoped it was last call on Ed's mixology happy hour.
