Fans seemed in an uproar last week when Sunny Hostin had to read a legal disclaimer on The View. However, this was after someone shared it on social media. What those people don’t know is that Sunny reads these all the time because it is a requirement for the show. However, Whoopi Goldberg just dragged Sunny for doing her job this week.
Here is what happened and why it seems so strange.
Whoopi Goldberg Drags Sunny Hostin On The View
Last week, the women of The View were talking about legal issues for a politician when Whoopi Goldberg reminded Sunny Hostin she had to read a legal disclaimer. When a political pundit saw this, they shared it on social media, mocking Sunny. What they don’t know is that Sunny reads these all the time because it’s her job.
Sunny Hostin was previously fired up over the same topic in June.

The creators of “Abbott Elementary” on ABC and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” on Fxx announced at Vulture Fest on Saturday that their shows will cross over for a one-of-a-kind two-episode event that will go down in TV history.
The special collaboration will start with an episode of Abbott Elementary in January. Then, during the 17th season premiere of It’s Always Sunny in June, a companion episode will air. This is a new way to tell a story, as the same story will be told from two different points of view in both shows.
The crossover started with a joke on social media about how the two shows were alike. Fans of both shows pointed out the funny similarities between them, so Brunson talked about how she met Rob McElhenney, the author of “Always Sunny” on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

With the biggest crossover to hit the City of Brotherly Love since cheese and steak, Quinta Brunson has shared some details about the upcoming Abbott Elementary cross with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
On Saturday at Vulture Fest, the Abbott star and creator revealed new details about the crossover event, which will feature one episode on each series, with the first airing early next year on the ABC sitcom.
“Our episode will air in January. So, it will be an Abbott Elementary episode,” explained Brunson. “But the first episode of Always Sunny — I don’t know when their episode’s gonna air, probably in June. Their episode will be their version of what happened in this storyline.”
With Season 4 of Abbott largely focused on gentrification in the school’s Philly neighborhood, and Season 17 of It’s Always Sunny premiering on Fxx in 2025, the plot details of the crossover are still unknown.

Tokyo Vice producer Alex Boden talked about next steps for inbound production in Japan, including the need to expand the crew base, during his MPA/Dhu/Tiffcom masterclass at Tokyo International Film Festival.
And the need for more crew couldn’t be more urgent as Japan’s Visual Industry Promotion Organization (Vipo) revealed that ten projects have already been approved for the country’s new 50% location incentive.
Max/Wowow’s Tokyo Vice, which filmed two seasons in Japan from 2020-2021 and 2022-2023, served as a test case for the incentive, which was officially launched in late 2023. During his masterclass, Boden outlined some of the challenges the production faced when it first came to Tokyo, including securing notoriously difficult locations such as Akasaka, and finding enough experienced bilingual crew.
“But I would say that it’s so important that we’ve established this precedent,” said Boden, whose producing credits also include...

A leading voice among China’s post-1990s generation of filmmakers, Wei Shujun has made four thematically diverse features in as many years — with three premiering at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. This week, he’s in Japan to present his critically lauded latest, Mostly Sunny, at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
The new film, which premiered at the Shanghai Film Festival in June, stars Huang Xiaoming in a transformative performance as a cheerful but mentally challenged man who lives with his nearly 70-year-old mother (Hsiao-Fen Lu). Just as the man has begun to find community and joy with a mysterious organization called Sunshine Club — led by a vaguely cult-like figure played with considerable charisma by leading Chinese auteur Jia Zhangke — his mother falls gravely ill. Though Abbott Elementary may be all about a “work family,” the series’ showrunner and leading lady Quinta Brunson is apparently having second thoughts about allowing her real-life family to watch the show’s two upcoming crossover episodes with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
In what’s become yet another drip in the slowest leak known to man, Brunson hinted at what fans — including her mother — can expect during the beloved Pennsylvania-based series’ collab. “Yeah, my mom’s not going to be allowed to watch that,” she told People while attending the Ema Awards Gala on Sunday.
Although Brunson remained tight-lipped on what schemes, plots and/or scams she gets into with the overlords of Paddy’s Pub — ones her mother shall never witness if the actress/producer/BuzzFeed alum has her way — she’s far from the only actor to hint that the upcoming crossover gets, well, real weird with it.

The most powerful sitcom crossover in the history of Pennsylvania is officially a double feature.
Back at the beginning of this month, Rob McElhenney sent the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fandom into a frenzy when he posted on-set photos from behind the scenes at an Abbott Elementary production, confirming that, eight months after the viral Glaswegian Willy Wonka nightmare got him and Quinta Brunson talking, a crossover between the two hometown sitcoms is finally in the works. Many of those same fans were dismayed to learn that the planned collaboration would happen on Abbott Elementary’s home court, where the show’s comparatively clean and upbeat tone (coupled with ABC’s censors) would limit the Always Sunny cast’s aptitude to be equal parts appalling and hilarious.
Then, on Friday, Variety blessed us with an exclusive scoop that opens the door for profane comedy played off of the already put-upon Willard R.

The highly-anticipated crossover between ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” and FX’s “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” just got bigger. While it was already revealed that the “Sunny” characters will show up on “Abbott” this season, Variety has confirmed that, as part of a two-episode event, the “Abbott” teachers will also show up on “Sunny” to hang with the Gang at Paddy’s Pub.
Earlier this month, “Abbott” creator and star Quinta Brunson and “Sunny” star/co-creator Rob McElhenney revealed that the two shows would join comedic forces for a very special episode of “Abbott” (which Brunson had previously hinted at San Diego Comic-Con). The mash-up made sense, given that both shows are set in Philadelphia, plus they both air on Disney-owned networks. (“Abbott” is produced by Warner Bros. TV.)

To some TV-watchers, crossover episodes are like flipping through a stack of old photographs — if they’re not in any of them and nobody’s having sex, they just don’t care.
Later this season on Abbott Elementary, Mac, Charlie, Dennis, Dee and Frank from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will all guest star in a very special episode that’s been in the works since Quinta Brunson and Rob McElhenney first bonded over the bizarre, traumatizing and unlicensed Willy’s Chocolate Experience in Glasgow that went viral back in January. McElhenney officially confirmed the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia/Abbott Elementary crossover at the beginning of this month by dumping a bunch of onset photos showing the Paddy’s Pub gang palling around with the Willard R. To advertise the upcoming 17th season of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the official FX TikTok account is showing off its weird, crappy-looking notebook drawings that confuse us even more than the pages of Charlie Kelly’s dream journal.
I imagine that it’s probably pretty hard to properly market It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on a platform with notoriously stringent content guidelines and secret algorithms that hide excessive swearing, violence, bigotry and substance abuse. Seeing as those are practically the four pillars of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the social media manager in charge of the official FX TikTok account has the unenviable task of getting Gen Z eyeballs on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia promotional material. As such, we can choose to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that the stress of the position caused a psychotic break that led to the account posting its...

Of all the famous figures who have come to shape the United States, one Philadelphian stands above the rest, a man revered for his wit, inventive prowess, appetite for sex workers, and most notably, a burning disdain for the government.
No, I’m not talking about legendary American hero Benjamin Franklin, I’m talking about Paddy’s Pub patriarch, Frank Reynolds, who to some It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans may actually be one and the same.
On Monday, Redditor BarneyRobinStinson7 stumbled out of MacLaren’s Pub and onto the Sunny subreddit, sharing an infographic questioning whether there was “even a difference’” between the founding father of the United States and the founding father of the Reynolds twins.

As if a brand new season of “Abbott Elementary” wasn’t enough to get people excited, creator and star Quinta Brunson is continuing to expand the show’s appeal with a television tradition that has become rarer and rarer as time goes on: A crossover episode. And what better show to intermingle with than fellow Pa series, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Announcing via pictures posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, it was revealed last week that the two Disney-owned shows (“Sunny” on FX and “Abbott” on ABC) would crossover this season, with Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, and Danny DeVito being featured alongside Brunson, Tyler James Williams, and William Stanford Davis outside the “Abbott” school set. Speaking in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Brunson shared how this collaboration came together and why she thinks it made perfect sense.

This Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes football team will march into Autzen Stadium to take on the unbeaten Oregon Ducks and their three-time All-American punter Cole Armstrong.
Sadly, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star and University of Oregon alumna Kaitlin Olson isn’t actually going to take the field when her Ducks take on their new conference rivals, due to her being a mother of two whose eligibility expired decades ago, but The Bird will be in Eugene to cheer on her alma mater with ESPN’s massively popular pregame show College GameDay. When Rob McElhenney showed up to shoot his scenes for the upcoming It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia crossover on Abbott Elementary, he apparently delivered the most hilarious performance that ABC would never condone in their most profitable public school. Next time, maybe he should leave the katana at home.

As “Abbott Elementary” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” shoot their upcoming crossover episode, “Abbott” coshowrunner and EP Patrick Schumacker teased there are some filmed scenes that will “probably never make it to ABC.”
“When we were shooting last week, Rob [McElhenney] had this improv in this one scene with Ava that I did not know was … coming; he just thought about it extemporaneously,” Schumacker told TheWrap, adding that the scene likely wouldn’t pass broadcast TV standards and practices.
“[It] made me spit out my coffee, and then wish that we had just an episode that was like a gag reel of all the stuff that we can’t use,” he continued. “I hope it exists at some point in time, because it’s so damn funny.”
While coshowrunner and EP Justin Halpern joked that some crossover episodes are “born out of some marketing person’s gross desire for synergy,” the “Abbott” and “Always Sunny” crossover,...

The Thriller Bark arc gave the One Piece fans several memorable moments. Nightmare Luffy, Sanji exploding out of rage, Ryuma’s debut, etc., but the most iconic of all is Roronoa Zoro’s “Nothing Happened.” At that point, Gecko Moria had been defeated, but Bartholomew Kuma’s entry scared the fans. At that point, no one knew Kuma’s backstory, and they thought of him as one of the World Government’s pawns.

"It's Always Sunny in Abbott Elementary!" It just sounds right, doesn't it? After months of speculation, we finally have confirmation which show Abbott Elementary is doing a crossover with. Of course, she had to be a tease! Well, now we know which other comedy is involved. And it's FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia!

At long last, the most important sitcom universes in Philadelphia are about to collide.
Ever since Abbott Elementary became the second sitcom set in Philadelphia to gain a massive online audience, fans of the feel-good ABC series about the unsung heroes of the Pennsylvania public school system have wondered when Quinta Brunson will finally collaborate with the show that’s completely diametrically opposed from Abbott Elementary in terms of its moral compass. Also on Ig stories, McElhenney posted another shot, which added “Sunny’s” Danny DeVito and “Abbott’s” Tyler James Williams and William Stanford Davis to the mix:
McElhenney had previously teased on social media that a “Abbott”/”Sunny” crossover would make sense, given that both shows are set in Philadelphia. And although “Abbott” is produced by Warner Bros. TV, the show airs on Disney’s ABC, while “Sunny” airs on Disney’s FX network,...

Rachel Zegler is admitting that she has been “really scared” about AI putting her out of work.
The actress, who made her debut with “West Side Story” and is set to lead Disney’s live-action “Snow White” remake, told Variety that she was concerned about artificial intelligence replacing her onscreen.
“I was really scared of being replaced by an artificial intelligence version of myself that they scanned when I was 18 and then never being able to work on a set again,” Zegler said. “What was stopping them from using that for the rest of my life?”
During the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023, Zegler supported protections against the dangers of artificial intelligence in Hollywood.
The “Y2K” actress said that she already had “465 photos taken of every corner of my body” for CGI stunts. “It was fucking dystopian,” she added.
Zegler has also appeared in action films “Shazam! Fury of the Gods...

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has racked up a ton of honors over the years. It’s the longest running live action sitcom in American TV history, it won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Comedy in 2013 and it holds the distinction of being the only show in existence to feature a Christmas episode in which a fully naked Danny DeVito bursts out of a leather couch — aka the greatest nude scene in Hollywood history.
But despite its popularity and acclaim, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has barely been acknowledged by the very institution that’s supposed to be in charge of rewarding TV excellence: the Emmys.
The cast hasn’t exactly been tight-lipped about their feelings concerning the show’s exclusion from the Emmys, they even brought up this glaring oversight at the 75th ceremony, complaining that their show (not to mention Martin) had yet to win a single Emmy.

Mad Men vet Christina Hendricks is set to co-star opposite Grey’s Anatomy‘s Ellen Pompeo in Hulu’s forthcoming limited series Natalia, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Formerly titled Orphan, Natalia is inspired by the true story of Natalia Grace and follows a Midwestern couple — Kristine and Michael Barnett (played by Pompeo and The Morning Show‘s Mark Duplass) — who adopt what they believe is an 8-year-old Ukrainian girl with a rare form of dwarfism. But as they begin to raise the girl alongside their three biological children, they slowly start to believe she may not be who she says she is.

Do you have an encyclopedic knowledge of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Do you know every episode backwards and forwards, able to identify one out of 162 total entries off of minimal clues? Do you desperately need $100?
If the answer to the first two questions is yes, then the answer to the last is likely the same — so, here’s your big chance.
Right now, Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and the rest of the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia writing staff are hard at work planning the insanity of the show’s upcoming Season 17, which Danny DeVito promised would be even more extreme than the comparatively “tame” previous entries. Us civilians have little knowledge of how the architects of the longest-running live-action sitcom in American history carefully craft each Always Sunny episode to be the perfect level of depraved, surprising and outstandingly funny — a fact that was on full...

The first episode of Abbott Elementary season 4 is titled "Back to School," and the staff are definitely going to have their hands full based on the trailer! As always, the school is very underfunded, and the hilarious trailer starts with Melissa and Barbara asking Principal Ava for books and paper towels for their classrooms. You know, basic necessities. But we know these poor guys have to work with what they've got. And of course Ava has a sarcastic response in return.
Jacob seems to have another mystery enemy other than Mr. Morton, the class pets may not be as great as they sound (the teachers asked for money for after school programs and got this instead), there's a visit from Hr, and ringworm is going around. A lockdown might be in store based on the video with Ava all suited up.
But we know this group of educators is going...
