This is a great short. It is about a brother and sister suffering from a lack of waves in Detroit dreaming of going to California to surf. It is very touching and surprises you. Not wanting to spoil anything I'll stop there. Great story. It has original music composed by Henri Wilkinson. This would make a great feature length movie. Cathy Owens is a sensitive and dynamic director. Her visualization and creation of this original story are breath-taking. I saw this movie in its finished version in the Paramount Studio theater in Los Angeles. My favorite parts are seeing how badly the main character Hector tries to surf on the Detroit River, which is absolutely flat, and watching him wipe out. It must have been really difficult for him to stand up on the board in fresh water. I have other favorite parts, but telling you here will spoil the movie for you. But the story itself is more about that feeling you get when you have a dream you want more than anything in this world which is something to which we can all relate. I hope we get to see the feature length version of this one day!
