Garret Dillahunt is set to recur in the new ABC drama High Potential. The series is set to premiere this fall.

Created by Drew Goddard based on the French format, the series stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mom with three kids and an exceptional mind, who helps solve an unsolvable crime when she rearranges some evidence during her shift as a cleaner for the police department.

When they discover she has a knack for putting things in order because of her high intellectual potential, she is brought on as a consultant to work with a by-the-book seasoned detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), and together they form an unusual and unstoppable team.

Exclusive: 20th Century Studios has rounded out the cast of its heist thriller Eenie Meanie, from writer-director Shawn Simmons. Newcomers include Andy Garcia (Pain Hustlers), Jermaine Fowler (Ricky Stanicky), Marshawn Lynch (Bottoms), Chris Bauer (Fellow Travelers), Steve Zahn (Wildcat), and Mike O’Malley (Heels).

Amazon Freevee has greenlit “The Goat,” the streamer announced on Monday.

Hailing from the producers of “The Bachelor,” “The Office,” and “FBoy Island,” the reality competition series will feature 14 reality TV celebrities competing in a series of mental, physical, and social challenges for the sake of winning the “greatest of all time” title. Daniel Tosh (“Tosh 2.0”) hosts the show.

“The Summer I Turned Pretty,” “The Wheel of Time,” and “A League of Their Own” are among over 100 Amazon Prime Video Originals set to stream for free on the company’s ad-supported Freevee platform.

Starting May 26, customers will be able to stream the first three episodes of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” exclusively on Freevee. Other television series launching in May include the first three episodes of “A League of Their Own,” “The Terminal List,” and “Paper Girls,” plus the hit series “Goliath” and “The Tick,” full seasons of “Homecoming” and “Upload,” and the sci-fi mystery “The Vast of Night.”

Additionally, the entire first season of “Reacher” as well as the first full season of “The Wheel of Time” will also land on Freevee later this year. “Wheel of Time” is set to debut its second season later this year on Prime Video.

Amazon Freevee announced on Monday that throughout the year, more than 100 original series and movies from Prime Video will be available to stream for free on the ad-supported streaming service.

Starting Friday, May 26, Freevee users can stream the first three episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty. Also launching in May are the first three episodes of A League of Their Own, The Terminal List, Paper Girls, Goliath, The Tick, full seasons of Homecoming and Upload and The Vast of Night.

The HBO limited series “The Palace” starring Kate Winslet has added Martha Plimpton to its cast. In addition, Jessica Hobbs has boarded the series as a co-executive producer and director.

Along with Winslet and Plimpton, the cast for the show also includes Hugh Grant, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Andrea Riseborough. Exact character details are being kept under wraps, but according to the official logline for “The Palace,” the show “tells the story of one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel.” It was originally ordered at HBO in July 2022.

Plimpton is a three-time Emmy nominee, winning the award for best guest actress in a drama for “The Good Wife” in 2012. She was also nominated in the same category for “Law & Order: Svu” and for best actress in a comedy for “Raising Hope,” the latter of which she starred in for four seasons.

HBO’s limited series The Palace has added a pair of Emmy winners to its team.

Martha Plimpton has joined the cast of the drama, which is set in a decaying authoritarian regime. Behind the camera, Jessica Hobbs will direct episodes of the series and serve as a co-executive producer.

Ordered to series in July 2022, The Palace chronicles a year inside an authoritarian government as it starts to unravel. Kate Winslet heads the cast, which also includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Andrea Riseborough and Hugh Grant. Character details for all five actors are being kept quiet.

Will Tracy (Succession) created the series and will be the showrunner. Winslet, Stephen Frears (who will direct along with Hobbs), Frank Rich and Tracey Seaward are also executive producing, with Hobbs as a co-ep. Seth Reiss, Juli Weiner, Jen Spyra, Gary Shteyngart and Sarah DeLappe are writers along with Tracy.

Exclusive: Garret Dillahunt (Sprung) has joined the third and final season of Netflix’s acclaimed dark comedy series Dead to Me, debuting on the platform on November 17, as a recurring guest star.

With its first season in 2019, Dead to Me introduced viewers to the recently widowed Laguna Beach real estate agent Jen (Christina Applegate) as well as Judy Hale (Linda Cardellini), a free spirit with a shocking secret who came to befriend her via a support group. By the end of the show’s first run (*Spoilers ahead*), we learned that it was Judy who killed Jen’s husband Ted in a hit-and-run, with Jen later killing Judy’s ex-fiancé, Steve (James Marsden). It seemed near the end of Season 2 that Jen and Judy’s concerns as to the consequences of their crimes might soon be put to rest, given Detective Perez’s (Diana-Maria Riva) decision to take pity on them.

Currently starring in new Freevee comedy series Sprung, Plimpton plays Barb, mother to a convict released early due to Covid, and the show takes a look at the early days of the pandemic and all the societal idiosyncrasies that showed up during lockdown.

In the sixth episode of Greg Garcia’s new Freevee comedy Sprung, two characters, while seemingly stealing a truck of valuable art, have a conversation about the Jimmy Buffett musical Escape to Margaritaville. The episode ends with the playing of a full song from said musical; it’s the sort of creative choice that would seem utterly random if you didn’t know that Garcia co-wrote Escape to Margaritaville.

Garcia wrote and directed every episode of Sprung and Garcia is the Rosetta Stone through which almost every second of Sprung can be understood or interpreted. Trying to figure out where you recognize a random supporting actor from? Chances are good that you remember them from a Garcia show. Scratching your head about why a comic cadence, pop-culture reference or piece of kitschy production design feels familiar? Odds are that it’s similar to something from a Garcia show.

Garret Dillahunt has the simplest and purest explanation for reuniting with his “Raising Hope” co-star Martha Plimpton and creator and executive producer Greg Garcia on new show “Sprung”: He just wanted to have fun.

“I called [Greg] in the summer of the lockdown, wanting to have some fun again because it had been a while, and I remembered the last time I had such fun was with Greg,” Dillahunt told Variety at the premiere of the genre-bending comedy on Amazon’s Freevee streaming service. “I called him. I said, ‘Buddy, life’s too short – we’ve got to have fun. If I’m not having fun, what’s the point? Let’s do something.’”

Still, Greg Garcia found them to be the perfect elements to bring together for his new program, Sprung. The Amazon Freevee comedy tells the tale of former inmate Jack (Garret Dillahunt) who gets released from his state co-ed prison early and is determined to use his newfound time for good while leading a band of misfits trying to survive in today’s world. Greece’s Skai TV has become the 23rd network to commission a version of ITV Studios’ smash reality show Love Island. Local producer Silverline will work up the Greek version, which will air later this year. The show, whose latest season in the U.S. has just started, brings singletons together who then ‘couple up’ or are eliminated throughout the eight week run. It has captured the zeitgeist in multiple territories, drawing millions of viewers and dominating front pages. The original UK version’s latest season ended on ITV2 at the start of the month.

Amazon Freevee (formerly IMDb TV) announced the pickup of Season 2 of “Bosch: Legacy,” a spin-off of series “Bosch” that ran for seven seasons on Prime Video — ahead of the May 6 premiere of “Bosch: Legacy” on the ecommerce giant’s free, ad-supported streaming service.

In addition, Amazon Freevee is expanding its licensed content lineup through a short-term film licensing agreement with Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution for a “limited selection” of 20th Century Studios titles, including “Deadpool,” “Deadpool 2,” “Logan,” “Hidden Figures,” Kenneth Branagh’s “Murder on the Orient Express” and “The Post.”

The announcements came at Amazon’s 2022 NewFronts presentation Monday for marketers.

Originally launched as Freedive in January 2019, IMDb TV has grown dramatically, becoming an important pillar in Amazon’s larger push into video advertising.

Over the last two years, IMDb TV has tripled monthly active users, fueled by increased distribution and foray into originals. Following a launch in the UK last September, Freevee will continue its international expansion with a launch in Germany later this year.

Amazon announced on Wednesday that its free streaming service IMDb TV is rebranding as Amazon Freevee, beginning April 27.

The ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service also plans to add more original series to its upcoming slate, which includes “Bosch: Legacy,” premiering May 6; comedy “Sprung” from “My Name is Earl” creator Greg Garcia; and “High School,” a scripted series adapted for television by Clea DuVall, produced by Plan B, and based on the best-selling memoir by Tegan and Sara.

The newly branded streaming service also announced that it ordered the workplace rom-com film “Love Accidentally,” starring Brenda Song, Aaron O’Connell and Denise Richards. Barry Barnholtz, Zelma Kiwi, and Jeffrey Schenck serve as executive producers.

The series is curated by del Toro into “a collection of unprecedented and genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror,” per the official release. “From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister tales (including two original works by del Toro) will be brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by del Toro.”
