Returning from a pre-wedding celebration, the bachelorette party for a bride-to-be is soon crashed by her former partner that reveals he's the Devil and possesses her to carry out an act of revenge for leaving him, forcing the guests to have to figure out how to combat the figure to save their friend and the wedding.
This was a really underwhelming effort without much going for it. The main gist of the film is that the premise here has potential and could've been something with the idea of the Devil himself appearing to a woman at their bachelorette party and turning it into a madcap series of escalating events that carry on throughout the night as more and more people get involved. This setup has the makings for a fun time out but is greatly undermined by a series of rather bland personal storylines for each of the characters regarding who they're really at the party for or what their past means to them now. None of this is funny or entertaining in the slightest and just goes on endlessly making this section of the film really hard to get through. On top of that, there's also the issue of the film falling flat with its attempts at comedy ending up undermining a lot of the film's progress. As there's never a sense of suspense to be taken from the scenario as the whole idea of this one is never taken seriously, its genre credibility is called into question while the focus on trying to crack jokes about the situation is a major drawback to this one. The constant attempts of the group to deal with the situation with no urgency or fear of what's going on and just feels as though it's all about the film having to happen without any purpose so there's a lot of rather unfunny comedy when the entire point is that the Devil himself is involved so it comes off as a rather disjointed effort.
Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language, Violence, and drug use.
