That’s your lot. Until the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 begin in a few weeks, the Olympic Games are over. No more hearing your neighbours through the wall cheering on Team Gb in the 400m Relay, no more fun and fleeting national obsessions with background players such as the man who retrieves rogue swimming hats from the bottom of the pool, or the magnificently curly haired official who carries the trays containing the medallists’ posters, and no more wondering where Clare Balding gets her blouses – the closing ceremony has closed.
What that means for UK TV viewers is the gradual return of actual television to the schedules. There’s new Only Connect, University Challenge, Who Do You Think You Are?, Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity Race Across the World and soon, new Great British Bake Off. If none of that excites you, then this is a great time to catch up on any overdue US imports.

Exclusive: Netflix’s plan to cook up a Willy Wonka reality competition series has moved to the next part of the factory.
Deadline understands that Fremantle-owned Eureka Productions has won the right to produce the show after a bake-off process.
The process has been taking place over the last few months with Eureka beating out a number of other production companies including Wall to Wall, the British production company behind Who Do You Think You Are?, Nobody’s Hero, the production company behind Netflix’s Bullsh*t: The Game Show, and The Garden, which was one of the companies behind Squid Game: The Challenge. It also beat out American Idol producer Fremantle, which was in the running for a separate bid to make the show out of its U.S. unscripted production arm.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Ghosts UK Season 1, Episode 1, “Who Do You Think You Are?” & “Gorilla War.”] Ghosts UK has landed stateside as the original inspiration behind CBS‘s fan-favorite Ghosts made its Season 1 debut on the network. As with most TV influences, Ghosts UK strikes a strong resemblance with its American counterpart — which debuted on CBS in 2021, two years after UK‘s launch in 2019 — as viewers are introduced to Alison (Charlotte Ritchie) and Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe), a young couple who are searching for a new home when they get an exciting call. Alison has inherited Button House, a home full of restless spirits. Sound familiar? While Alison and Mike may be the counterparts to Rose McIver‘s Sam and Utkarsh Ambudkar‘s Jay, they are their own characters with their own quirks. Unlike Jay, Mike isn’t a chef, and Alison’s career isn’t quite defined when we meet her either. All we know is ...

In the debut episode of “Ghosts UK,” set to air on CBS at 9:01 Pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023, viewers will be introduced to a cash-strapped young couple named Alison and Mike. The couple’s dreams of purchasing their first home seem out of reach due to financial constraints. However, their luck takes an unexpected turn when they inherit a substantial estate from a distant relative.
This newfound inheritance seems like the answer to their prayers, as it provides the opportunity for a fresh start. But, as with any good story, there’s a twist. The old estate comes with an eerie and unexpected feature – it’s haunted by the ghosts of its previous occupants.
As the episode unfolds, Alison and Mike must navigate the challenges of cohabiting with these spectral housemates. The comedic yet somewhat spooky situations they find themselves in make for an intriguing and entertaining storyline. This lighthearted...

The Masked Singer is back on our screens, turning the nation into at-home detectives as they try to figure out who this year’s celebrity contestants are.
The singing competition series, in which celebrities compete anonymously behind giant anthropomorphic costumes, returned on New Year’s Day, with the first group of contestants all performing.
Among the group was Phoenix, who was shown in their Vt standing within a grand castle and explaining in a posh accent that “I am rather hot, aren’t I?”
“Fire” by Kasabian then played as Phoenix said that they had risen from the ashes and been “born anew” and “reincarnated”.
They also said that they were good with “mysteries” and “following a trail”, while Phoenix was shown inspecting foot prints with a magnifying glass.
Phoenix’s first performance was a jazz version of “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. While performing, they sang with an American accent.

“Friends” may have countless superfans around the world – but Lisa Kudrow’s son isn’t necessarily one of them. In fact, according to Kudrow, her son’s first reaction to the show was actually pretty “demeaning.”
To be clear, it’s not that he didn’t like the NBC sitcom, it’s just that his mom wasn’t exactly his favorite part of it. During an interview with Seth Meyers in support of “Who Do You Think You Are?”, which she executive produces, Kudrow explained that her son first watched “Friends” when all his own friends began watching it in school.
According to the actress, her son was a bit surprised by the humor in it – but favored his mother’s male co-stars.
“He was impressed. He goes, ‘It’s actually really funny,'” Kudrow said with a laugh. “He said, ‘It’s actually really funny, and I mean, the guys are so funny.
