Phenomenal acting on most characters--suspenseful and intriguing.
It gets you hooked with the sibling drama and intense reading of the Will in the beginning.
A mix of British and American style of dry humor interjected with sarcasm with ques of irony.
Seriously though 600 characters is too much as a mandatory form to fill up this whole page with. Hence, Im just going to fill it with meaningless words. Peter piper pick a peck of pickled peppers. A peck of pickled peppers peter piper picked. If peter piper picked a pecck of pickled peppers. Then where's the peck of pickled peppers peter piper picked??? Ridiculous!

In the day of binge watching, this hits the spot. I was pleasantly surprised how this TV show sucked me in. My favorite characters with chemistry are the two siblings from America. I honestly love Sarah Niles from Ted Lasso so much that I found it kinda hard to believe that she is this vindictive wife who is self-centered and evil.
The twist and turns are wonderful. I was able to figure out all of them except for the last 2 twists. I can't wait to see how they handle the secrets that were left open-ended.
My final thoughts are America, we gotta do better with our actors lol. This cast ensemble is from the UK but has 2 UK actors playing Americans. I think it would have been a little better if there were 2 American actors who were actually thrown into the UK for authenticity. Lastly, not a fan of the sex scenes. Let's take a page from Shonda Rimes and really sell me the sexiness of the beautiful Nina Richardson played by Deborah Ayorinde.

The dramatic events caused by each family member's choices grabbed my attention. The showrunner created a situation for me where I liked and disliked each of the characters. The ensemble's performance was perfect, with each performer creating an atmosphere of disbelief, further piquing my curiosity. Deborah Ayorinde is inspiring as Nina Richards. Sarah Niles is a must-see as Claudia Richards, a character that makes you want to scream at the TV. Brendan Coyle never fails with his characters, who are always mysterious, trusting, and lovable. The set designs beautifully displayed wealth, but something was missing in conveying the family's power. I intended to watch two episodes but ended up watching the whole season, which is a good sign that Riches is a great show.
Viewers can expect to feel some of the emotions I described and more as the story opens to reveal a mystery that could destroy the family. If you made it this far, thanks for reading, and if you watch Riches, let me know what you think.
Keep It Interesting Stay Channel Surfing!

Boring dull and worse of all in this series are the absolutely terrible so called acting. There is nothing that good hear. It predictable and honestly just found it boring and a struggle to continue watching I mean some people seem to love this don't know why could guess but it's not likely for the acting.
Sigh now got to think of things put in to fill in space but not much else to say about this hmm.
Ignore below Mainly used hear to fill up space as have to use a rediculas amount of letters in review 600 is too long when not much say other then terrible series that was more grind to continue watching and un-enjoyable to watch.

It was glamorous and it had potential but I got fed up fairly quickly and it felt clumsy and contrived by the end. I stopped caring about any of the characters. I watched 5 out of the 6 episodes in one sitting. I wonder if it might have been better to space them to get some semblance of time passing. We got from A-Z in record time and I'm not sure how. Nina is some kind of super woman who can analyse company accounts in a matter of hours with the aid of a glass of red wine and some fancy spectacles but then at the same time can't follow up the trail to find the smoking gun. What???? By the way what happened to her job in the US? She was taking 3 days off. I will try series 2 but I'll keep my expectations low.

OMG! I LOVED this series! I can't believe I watched the entire series in one sitting. I literally watched the entire season within 5 hours! I have never been so glued to a series like this! Please bring season 2, but with longer episodes and more than 6 episodes! I enjoyed every episode! If there is a Season 2, I know there will be a lot more drama. The cast was amazing! Every episode had me on the edge ready for the next episode! I knew something was off about the secretary, but to they extent I didn't know until the last episode. Please keep this coming! I will be heartbroken if this series does not get approved for a second series.

Thought I'd "give it a go" and was instantly hooked! Although not original, it's a great storyline done very well! Nice twists and turns, executed to perfection!
The cast is terrific, hands down one of the better ensembles on Prime and in the stream-verse. The performances were like butter, smooth and well executed. The writing was good and production value was exquisite, higher than I expected.
I hope Amazon brings this show back for multiple seasons! I find it difficult to pin down good shows that keep me engaged, this one certainly did.

At first I thought that it might be a black "Succession." That would have been gimmicky but at least it held out the hope of being an intriguing family drama. But it's not Succession at all. It's not even a good family drama on its own. Instead it's shallow, superficial look at a dysfunctional, rich family who happens to be black. Yawn. I can't identify with these characters to begin with and it doesn't help that they aren't given enough layers to make them interesting as human beings. Plus the writers fly into this rather damaging cliche of making the bad guys white. This is as unhelpful as making black characters bad in majority white shows. It serves no one. I hope they throw this out as a failed attempt. It's really a waste of time.
This series immediately throws you into intense and mysterious family drama. Like a fly on the wall, you get to see behind the scenes of each character. Every scene is painted in a meticulous color palette from the lighting and set design, to the elaborate outfits. Each character has a deep edge that will be sure to cut at just the right time. Accompanied by witty writing, this show will have you craving for more! Besides being mesmerizing, it has a certain grit in bringing up current social and cultural struggles like cultural appropriation and racial profiling. It is beautifully done and the cast is absolutely incredible!

Absolutely loved this series! The plot, story line, writing, acting of each and every character was phenomenal. Prime better keep it coming... and more episodes added please. At least 10 (or more :) Thanks for this needed addition to the very vanilla broadcasting. My review has to be 600 characters so I guess I will fill this space with my applause to the cast. No spoilers alert, just go and watch this wonderfully Melaninated cast. I watched the entire series in one day. Could not get get enough and was so happy it wasn't left with a major cliffhanger. Just enought to wonder what comes next...
So many plot twist!!
I was like WOW to every other episode.
I love the creativity of the writers and the directors. The actors and actress performances was great!!!. I binged watched the show and wished the season was even longer.
This show is a hit in my book!!!
Black excellence at its finest with the characters development!!
Yes it had some scandalous topics. Luckily it wasn't over done and didn't come across as ghetto but what's possible with money, power, and a career driven mindset.
I can't wait to see what they come up with next season.
Drama, fashion and a message (colorism in fashion)!!!
Love, love, love this show!!

I love the lead actress Deborah Ayorinde she was excellent in Them. This series is great the production, location and the cast was well done. I enjoyed the twist and turns of the story line and each episode had a cliff hanger. I can't wait until season 2. Well worth the bing watching. Black Excellence!! If you enjoy seeing a family work through some major challenges and still stick together then this is the how for you to watch. I loved the color palate of the clothing, makeup, hair and the location of the filming. You feel as of your really there and your part of the Richards family empire. Love! Love! Love !!
In all fairness I took the time to wade through three episodes of trite dialogue and redundant story lines before chucking the whole mess. I have a hard time believing that there are too many people who think that this is a worthwhile use of money to produce. Although, true to form, there was no sparing the glamour juice on the characters nothing could make up for the fact that the actors were in over their heads. After the third episode I couldn't care less about any of them.
If the point of the whole thing was to show black people in rich surroundings then so be it, job well done. That's about all it did.

This is a BRILLIANT series. From the writing to the cast to the makeup/hair and wardrobe team. This has to be renewed for many many more seasons. We need this to be back on our screens. Deborah who plays Nina is phenomenal she has such a powerful presence on screen and kudos to her glam they had her looking flawless. She looks better with each episode and you can see how she evolves throughout the series. Claudias character you love to hate but she plays it so good!
There's so much more to the story that we need to see please renew and let's get some emmys for this cast. To not renew this series would be an injustice for all of this fantastic cast.

Amazon Originals got it right with this one! I LOVE this series because it's got teeth! The trailer and the commercials didn't do it justice! Show creator Abby Ajayi produced a great series. Riches removes from memory the stereotype of a continual poverty status for black people. There are many more successes (other than in entertainment industries) than make it to the public stage and screen.
I loved also how it showed the executive intelligence of the Nina Richards character. One just has to look at the magazine Black Enterprise to see the many, many successful black entrepreneurs who are steadily increasing in numbers. Their successes are in every area whether they own their own businesses or not.
Just as importantly, the cast is full of cocoa beauties instead of the tired old schema of light/bright-skinned black women. (These cast members are the caviar of our people!) Deborah Ayorinde is perfectly cast in the title role. (I remember her work in the Amazon series, Them.) She truly puts her heart and soul into her work. This cast of beautiful and capable sisters, along with the young men, presented an organic landscape and gave a much better presence and power to the story!
This series was very well thought out and plotted. However, the one thing we can do without are the one-night stands being played out. But, I can hardly wait for Season 2 and beyond!

Saw this on an ad on tiktok. So glad I checked it out. Great acting. Great concept. Great script. Great cast. Loved everything about this one.

Yesssssss! I watched all episodes and here for them all!!! Cast was great and each episode the story lines kept me wanting to watch each episode!! Riches is worth watching. The fashion was even nice . The lead character did a phenomenal job with her role. The mother of the children played the part as widow. Everyone did a really good job. I hope season two doesn't take long because season one was by far great. Prime you added such a great series and I hope everyone who reads this agrees we want Season two. I have questions that need to be answered in season two lol. I really enjoyed watching and rarely finish seasons in one sitting.

Could not even get to the middle of the first episode. The acting is outrageously bad. The characters are stereotypical, using both a theme and script that have been used so many times before. All the glitzy backgrounds etc cannot save this turkey. The main deterrent is the really bad acting. It's like a second rate web based, you tube series. The dialog has all the usual cliched stuff that adds nothing to the script or story at all. If you want to see a much better acted, written and directed all-black series that uses the similar theme of wealth and dysfunctional family dynamics, "Greenleaf" is a much better deal! Hopefully, this will not get a second season! It's really bad!
Riches is one of those shows that satisfies on so many levels: Looking for a good old-school Dynasty buzz? Check. Craving a mystery with more plot twists than a pretzel? Check again. Yearning for a quick fashion fix, with a dab of wealth porn? Sure, why not?
This UK based winner also delivers a solid story about the wealthy Richards family, fighting each other - and some deep personal weaknesses - to save their company. Deborah Ayorinde and Sarah Niles snap, sizzle, and pop as sparring in-laws Nina and Claudia, evoking that delicious disco-era energy of Krystle and Alexis Carrington.
Yet Riches moves beyond mere campy soap-opera to hook viewers with a mystery worthy of any Masterpiece Mystery show. It's easy to binge watch, but beware the bittersweet realization that you'll have to wait until the second season for emotional closure...sigh.

It's not just that the plot is boring, clunky and predictable, it's not just that the script is badly written with so many cliches, it's more that the acting is so basic and appalling. The characters are badly observed, with no development at all. The 'actors' (and at best they aware drama club level) just don't gel together, it's like they just met for the first time and they started filming. The casts ability to convey any form of believable emotion is just not there - going through the motions without conviction or direction. Don't waste your time on this total garbage, there are so many better programs out there or watch paint drying (as that is infinitely more entertaining)

Loved this series so much. I started it and finished in 1 day because I was so hooked. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I am just in love with the mystery of it all. The cast was lovely, such talented actors. The story was paced so well. It was filled with different focal points throughout the season so we weren't focused on just one thing (that can get boring so quickly) and the most important thing overall... IT WAS NOT PREDICTABLE. It was overall such a great to watch. Wished it was on its 3rd season already so I would have more to binge. Cannot wait to see what else is in store for this series!!!!!!

Don't know what qui_j was watching because this is a great series for what it is and definitely does NOT deserve one star. Not Oscar material but who cares about that! At first I was thinking it was just another Kings of Napa but it is SO much better! Please don't make us wait a year for more episodes! Great acting for actors I've never seen much of. Each actor held his/her own. Loved the storyline. This is by far the best thing on Prime Video right now in its catagory. Why cant we get 12 or 18 episodes?? What's up with this 6?? Did notice that Nina played in the movie Girls Trip. Can't wait for more! Good job Amazon!
