The second season of House of the Dragon had some very nice points, most notably the spectacular Battle of Rook's Rest, but the ending left a lot of people puzzled. Rather than ramping up to some big climax, as did the first season of House of the Dragon as well as every season of predecessor show Game of Thrones, the second season of House of the Dragon ended with a montage teasing conflicts yet to come. Daemon Targaryen has raised an army in the Riverlands at the same time as the Lannisters and Criston Cole are marching on his location. The Triarchy fleet is sailing to Westeros to attack Rhaenyra Targaryen's forces, but they don't get there. The newly minted Dragonseeds put on their armor but don't take flight, and so on.

The second season of House of the Dragon wrapped up earlier this year, and most people who watched it agree that the best episode was the fourth, "The Red Dragon and the Gold," which ended with Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) and her dragon Meleys being knocked out of the sky by Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) and his dragon Vhagar. After a pitched battle, Rhaenys and Meleys both ended up dead, although we were spared the sight of their burned and blackened bodies on the ground.
But we've known for a while that director Alan Taylor actually did film the dead bodies of Rhaenys and Meleys, but for whatever reason that shot was cut from the final episode. “It’s always like that,” he said in an interview shortly after the episode aired. “I think the impulse behind that choice was to make sure that we stayed focused on the key storylines.

Seen from the 14th floor of its Radisson Hotel, Montevideo’s skyline, bristling with white marble high-rises and monuments, looks like a very different scenario for Ventana Sur, Latin America’s foremost film-tv co-pro forum and market, relocated from its chic Buenos Aires setting for the first time since 2009.
Yet in many ways, this is the same Ventana Sur, playing to its strengths and galvanized by its context, Uruguay, one of Latin America’s fastest-growing film-tv hubs, both as a big-shoot locale and home-grown movie industry.
Ten takes, as producers and sales agents began to arrive at the Radisson for this year’s edition, hosted by Cannes Marché du Film and Uruguay’s public-sector film agency, Agencia del Cine y Audiovisual (Acau), and running Dec. 2-6 in the Uruguayan capital:

House of the Dragon is a Game of Thrones prequel series focused on a section of Targaryen history known as the Dance of the Dragons. Those events were mentioned from time to time in the Song of Ice and Fire books by George R.R. Martin and on HBO's Game of Thrones TV show, but are detailed most extensively in Martin's pseudo-history book Fire & Blood. With two seasons of the prequel completed and a confirmed four-season arc, it's relatively easy to say what events will have to happen in the next couple of seasons.
The first season was all about getting the pieces in place. Audiences were introduced to Viserys Targaryen and the two sides of his family: his daughter Rhaenyra and his children with his second wife Alicent Hightower. Over about two decades, the tension between these sides of the family built, culminating in the Green Council stealing the throne...

George R.R. Martin has had enough of the modifications done in House of the Dragon that he penned a now-deleted blog post containing his own criticisms. Now, it seems like another inaccurate detail will make its way into Season 3 that might anger the author even more.

One of Martin’s biggest concerns in the series is the absence of important characters from the very start. Now, a recent interview with a former cast member hinted at his possible return which might only mess up the storyline.

Remember when they used to make animated series out of any hit franchise going? Mark Harrison does…
Let’s dive straight in…
Rambo: The Force Of Freedom
In an alternate ending for 1982’s First Blood, traumatised Vietnam War veteran John Rambo commits suicide. However, in post-production, director Ted Kotcheff and writer/star Sylvester Stallone opted for the canon ending where Rambo surrenders.
Had they kept the original, we certainly wouldn’t have four more Rambo sequels, and it might have dented the film’s viability for animated spin-off series as well. As it is, Ruby-Spears Productions created Rambo: The Force Of Freedom, a G.I. Joe-alike action series that ran for 65 episodes in 1986.
Battling the evil organisation S.A.V.A.G.E., Rambo and his “toyetic” friends travel the globe, pausing only to play with animals and teach children how to be good. Stallone was reportedly not best pleased but continued pancaking enemy combatants...

Marco and it’s Not-So-Smooth Start
The music industry occasionally witnesses songs that start off on a rocky path before climbing their way to glory. That’s the story of Marco, originally composed by Dabzee. Despite the initial buzz, Marco faced severe backlash due to its raw tones and controversial lyrics, leaving it labeled as an ear-sore by many.
But here’s the twist: you can’t keep a good beat down! Enter Ravi Basrur, the maestro behind blockbuster scores like K.G.F., who saw untapped potential in the track. Collaborating with Sony Music, Ravi gave Marco a breathtaking remix, proving that a great producer can truly work wonders.
The “Blood” Makeover
Ravi Basrur didn’t just remix the song; he revitalized it. Renamed Blood, this track underwent a major transformation. Featuring Dabzee’s original vocals, complemented by rap verses from Rohith Siddappa, and lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar, Blood became an electrifying anthem.

Marco Blood Song Controversy (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Unni Mukundan’s Marco has generated buzz since its teaser was released about a month ago. Billed as the “Most Violent” film, it recently became controversial over its music.
The issue began 3-4 days ago when Marco’s makers announced on social media that the film’s first song, Blood, had been removed from YouTube. According to the makers, YouTube cited “extreme violence” as the reason for the takedown. However, we at Koimoi could not independently verify this claim. Whether it was a genuine issue or a marketing stunt remains unclear.
Following the removal, the makers changed the song’s visuals and re-released it, sparking the second phase of the controversy. Unfortunately, we could not access the original version of Blood that was allegedly taken down, so we cannot comment on its content.

Among the many controversies that Mel Gibson has had to endure over the years, his divorce from Oksana Grigorieva is probably the most taxing. The actor and singer were reportedly together for only a year before Gibson was accused of domestic violence and the couple separated.
The divorce was highly publicized, especially after audio tapes that allegedly had Gibson shouting profanities at Grigorieva were released. Both Gibson and Grigorieva reportedly obtained restraining orders and the latter received a settlement of $750,000. However, she reportedly lost $500,000 of that money when she appeared on The Howard Stern Show.

Game of Thrones was a fantastic show that never failed to get big reactions out of fans, but which moments broke the net the most?
Caution: Obviously, this article contains Spoilers for all eight seasons of Game of Thrones
The tricky thing with listing the stunning moments of Game of Thrones is that it’s easy to just go with “everything.” Every season was packed with amazing episodes boasting stunning moments that fans never expected. The series was never shy about killing off major characters, taking unexpected directions and never going where fans thought it would. That makes it hard to narrow down the most buzz-worthy moments.
Some are among the show’s greatest bits, while others weren’t quite as popular but incited firestorms of talk. So what follows are the 20 times Game of Thrones broke the Internet the most, and that still only scratches the surface of how mind-blowing this show could be.

One of the major issues that fans complain about House of the Dragon is the significant changes, whether in the storyline or the characters. George R.R. You might need to be a fan of Carax’s oeuvre to enjoy this act of indulgence but this short autobiography is full of his grandiose whimsy and personal melancholy
Here is a 40-minute autobiographical jeu d’esprit from Leos Carax, the renowned director of Les Amants du Pont-Neuf, Bad Blood, Holy Motors and Annette; a body of work featuring such stars as Juliette Binoche, Michel Piccoli, Kylie Minogue, Denis Lavant and Adam Driver. First unveiled at Cannes this year, the puckish elusiveness of the piece is announced in the title itself.
C’est Pas Moi, or It’s Not Me, is a cine-collage essay in the manner of Godard, although the audio soundtrack does not quite have that papier-mache roughness that Godard often created. Godard’s voice appears briefly in an answering-machine message to Carax, a fragment that Carax might not have dared include while the great man was still alive.

It’s safe to say Helldivers 2 has faced its fair share of ups and downs since its release in February. Despite these challenges, the game has managed to build a dedicated playerbase that is committed to doing whatever it takes to spread democracy across the galaxy. Players are drawn to the chaotic, fast-paced combat that constantly forces them to think on their feet, making each mission feel fresh and engaging.

However, what truly sets the game apart is its ability to keep the player engaged without leaning too much on the microtransaction. Recently, the game has once again rejuvenated its player base with a steady stream of updates and meaningful changes. In doing so, players are starting to realize that perhaps it’s time to raise their standards when it comes to modern games.

Almost 25 years after Russell Crowe’s famous performance as Maximus thrilled theatergoers, Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II” takes place on the bloody sands of the Roman Colosseum. This surprising follow-up continues the epic story through the eyes of Lucius, played by Paul Mescal, who was a boy in the first movie and is now an adult warrior. The movie is set in the chaotic years after Maximus’s famous rebellion when Rome was still trying to figure out how to fill the power void left by past wars.
At age 86, Scott shows that he still loves making big historical shows by writing a sequel that respects and reimagines the original. The movie is about Lucius, who turns out to be Maximus’s son and is caught and thrown into the world of gladiators. His journey is similar to that of his father, but it goes in a different direction. “Janji Darah” embodies the stock grade of Indonesian horror, where a shaman pops up, spirits populate and the realm of the dead occupies center stage. There are no innovations in the screenplay, only an excess of bone-tired cliches that have no spark or originality. The film turns duller with each minute, the horror becomes increasingly leaden.
The CGI infusions of the demonic apparition are so ridiculous it is impossible to ascribe any seriousness of thought or alarm to the scenes designed to evoke terror. It feels increasingly sillier. The film is so bereft of fresh ideas the makers hurl every formulaic ball at the wall. It’s even lazier; there’s no attempt to flesh out the supernatural and the blurring lines between the real and otherworldly.
Characters are paper-thin, the acting wavering, and the entire narrative flaky, injecting random apparitions and amping up the supernatural with little effort and a whole lot of contrivance.

The 1928 animated short film Steamboat Willie officially became public domain earlier this year many have decided to take advantage of the situation by doing their own interpretations. One of the more popular paths recently is using a public domain property for the horror genre. We all remember the amount of publicity Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey got when it was first announced.
While multiple horror-themed movies, both released and announced, have featured the classic mouse, from Mickey’s Mouse Trap to Steamboat Willie to The Return of Steamboat Willie, there have also been instances of him appearing in horror games such as Infestation Origins (formerly titled Infestation 88). Now, another game seems to be taking a darker take on the iconic mouse.

The game features a very hefty-looking mouse that resembles Mickey as he battles various creatures and monsters straight out of your nightmares.

Before he passed away in 2017, horror master George A. Romero had been developing one final zombie movie titled Twilight of the Dead. The film is coming to life with Brad Anderson (Session 9, The Machinist, Blood), and Deadline reports that the zombie film has found its leads in Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich and Upgrade‘s Betty Gabriel.
The George A. Romero estate is teaming up with LA-based financier-producer Roundtable on Twilight of the Dead, being positioned as the “final installment” in Romero’s ‘Dead’ franchise. The original treatment for the planned project was penned by Romero himself, but Joe Knetter, Robert Lucas, and Paolo Zelati tackled the actual screenplay.

House of the Dragon Almost Got Shelved—Here’s Why That Nearly-Disaster Led to Its Success! (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Believe it or not, House of the Dragon almost failed. HBO was ready to cancel the Game of Thrones prequel before it started. Crazy, huh? The show is killing it today because of that near-miss.
HBO has many Game of Thrones spinoffs in the pipeline, but only sometimes. After Game of Thrones finished in 2019, the network took its time—maybe too long—releasing new content. They even spent $30 million on a prequel pilot called Blood Moon about the Long Night to cancel it. Talk about brutal.
But it wasn’t just Bloodmoon that faced the axe. According to co-showrunner Ryan Condal, House of the Dragon was also close to being shelved. Condal revealed, “HBO was going to shelve it” until George R.R. Martin stepped in. This was the story Martin wanted to tell most,...

HBO's Game of Thrones prequel show House of the Dragon has a lot going for it, including excellent actors, gorgeous production values and some excellent source material in George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood. But the biggest draw may be right there in the title: the dragons. We've met over a dozen on the show so far, and the series has done a great job of giving them all their own personalities and looks. It's possible for everyone to have their favorites. Do you like Rhaenyra Targaryen's eagle-like mount Syrax? Maybe her husband Daemon's noodle-decked war dragon Caraxes? Or how about Aemond Targaryen's fearsome Vhagar, the oldest and largest dragon around during this time?
Talking about House of the Dragon recently, showrunner Ryan Condal told us exactly how many dragons are out there during this time in Westerosi history, over 100 ears before the events of Game of Thrones. "There...

Ever since Game of Thrones announced it was coming to an end, studios have been trying to fill the hole it left behind. The most prominent of these attempts is House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones based on George R. R. Martin's fictional history book, Fire & Blood. The series details the complexities of the period known as the Dance of the Dragons, when the Targaryen family divided into factions known as the Greens and the Blacks destroyed itself fighting over succession.
But how successful has it been in filling that void? In theory, both shows have a similar quality, with Game of Thrones earning a 89% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes and House of the Dragon earning an 87%. However, Game of Thrones actually has an average season score of 94% if we exclude the divisive eighth season, which scored 55%. Meanwhile, the two seasons of House of the Dragon...

Jay-Z was not wrong when he said that Frank Ocean wasn’t playing to anybody’s rules. Ocean is considered a pioneer in alternate R&b and his music has impressed even the likes of Jay-Z and Brad Pitt. Ocean won the Best Urban Contemporary Album Grammy for his debut album Channel Orange. His second album, Blonde, was critically acclaimed for its experimental approach.

Arguably, the biggest problem with Shadows of the Damned back when it was originally released in 2011 was its profound unseriousness—when gray-brown, war-torn, and taciturn were the de rigueur trends in gaming. It probably didn’t help that the game was still a far cry from whatever high-level terror was originally planned by co-creator Mikami Shinji (much of which wound up in the Evil Within games later down the road). But resuscitating this deeply unserious third-person horror shooter in 2024, when big and obnoxiously self-serious games are absolutely dooming studios, feels like the most wonderful breath of fresh air.
Shadows of the Damned is, in a nutshell, a dumber and weirder version of Resident Evil 4—and that’s said with nothing but love. There isn’t anything particularly poignant about booze-swilling badass Garcia Hotspur’s quest to save his lingerie-loving girlfriend Paula from the clutches of the big-headed demon Fleming. And...

Could Fargo Dive Deeper into the Coen Brothers’ Cinematic Universe? Here’s What We Know! ( Photo Credit – YouTube; Wikimedia )
Fargo fans, buckle up! The Coen-verse is full of wild possibilities, and with Fargo already dipping into their signature dark humor and crime-ridden storytelling, there’s a lot of potential to unpack.

In June 2024, an entire docuseries highlighting the feud between Scooter Braun and Taylor Swift was released. Here’s what he had to say about Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.

There were still so many movies left uncovered that Weiner could circle back and continue looking into ’80s movies for years to come – but instead, he has decided to move forward into the ’90s with the upcoming documentary In Search of Darkness: 1990 – 1994. At the time, fans considered the horror genre to be in a lull, a downswing from the heights it reached in the ’80s. But with this movie, Weiner aims to point out that we did still get a lot of good horror movies during that time period. You can get a sample of the...

Emma D'Arcy has received heaps of praise for portraying Rhaenyra Targaryen on House of the Dragon. We're currently near the start of what is sure to be a long wait for the third season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series, but D'Arcy is already thinking about the kinds of things they'd like to do.
"A privilege of my job is to work with extraordinary actors, and that’s where I derive a huge amount of energy and pleasure," D'Arcy told The Guardian about working on the show. "I enjoy the familial confines of House of the Dragon, but all that said I’m desperate to beef up my Spotlight skill section and I do want a sword next season. I want a reason to see the stunt team.
