“So I just… wait, is Ethan Hawke behind me?”
Marielle Heller has just lost her train of thought. She’s sitting in the cafe she frequents enough to be on a first-name basis with the owner, and she thinks the Before Sunrise actor just walked in. To be fair, the Brooklyn neighborhood she lives in is crawling with creative types, and apparently Hawke is a regular as well. Heller slowly turns to look, only to confirm that the scruffy-looking hipster-dad dude, one of a gajillion who also reside in the area,...

The tragic story of Hildegard Rodrguez, a child prodigy whose mother, Aurora, moulds her into a living embodiment of radical ideals, is intricately woven into The Red Virgin, directed by Paula Ortiz. Set against the tumultuous background of early twentieth-century Spain—an era marked by social upheaval and the zeal of the Second Spanish Republic—the film transports viewers to a world where maternal obsession and ideological fervour mix.
Aurora’s ambitions for her daughter, whom she sees as the “woman of the future,” devolve into a claustrophobic dynamic in which love gives way to control. This unsettling story unfolds as Hildegard struggles with her emerging identity in the face of her mother’s unwavering expectations, eventually culminating in a tragic and unavoidable meeting.
The ramifications of Hildegart’s life go far beyond her tragic fate; they reflect the perennial struggle between human autonomy and ideological imposition. Her story is...

When you think of iconic sitcoms, apart from their ensemble cast, unforgettable moments, and impeccable plots, it is the music that draws the most attention. From Friends’ iconic I’ll Be There For You theme song to The Office’s instrumental catchy opening, it is often the songs that end up laying the foundations of a series’s success. And when you think of How I Met Your Mother, apart from the slap bet or Ted’s never-ending quest for the perfect woman, it is the sitcom’s short and snappy intro that catches the most attention.

While things ended on a sour note for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez back in the early 2000s, many felt their second shot at romance might be one for the storybooks. Unfortunately, this couldn’t be far from the truth, as after months of alleged tension between the duo, Lopez finally filed for divorce from the Justice League star. This wasn’t surprising as the two were reportedly living separate lives for quite some time now.

Although it seemed the duo’s two-year-long marriage might be heading for an ugly end, as it was reported that there was no prenuptial agreement between them, it seems the two might not be able to cut ties completely.

General Hospitals (Gh) spoilers and updates for Wednesday, November 13 tease celebrations, confrontations, and clarity!
Coming Up General Hospital
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) has something to celebrate, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) confronts someone, and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) asks for clarity.
General Hospital Spoilers – Exciting Welcome
Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) haven’t seen each other in a few weeks apparently, since Gio is over the top at seeing the cop during the Gh preview for Wednesday, November 13. Gio smiles and asks excitedly, “How’s it going bro”, as he encounters his Chase.
Chase smiles, too, but he’s a little subdued, which is understandable since his police partner, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is going through so much pain. Not to mention, Chase has had his own losses recently.
There’s a lot going on around the Quartermaine mansion and with the extended family as of late.

A Nun Untangles the Threads of Her Sense of Self in Cécile Embleton & Alys Tomlinson’s ‘Mother Vera’
Never have I felt the idiom, never judge a book by its cover to be truer than in my experience with the 2024 London Film Festival Grierson Award Winner Mother Vera. Co-directed by Cécile Embleton and Alys Tomlinson, within the opening scene of Mother Vera I was immediately struck by the discord between the type of documentary I was expecting and what unfolded onscreen. Set in a remote, cold and unforgiving environment surrounding a hidden Orthodox monastery in Belarus, we are offered an insight into one woman’s reckoning of herself, her past and her present as we explore her conflicted pull towards forging a new future for herself. The long, evocative shots of overbearing iconography coupled with the monotony of monastic life are certainly not the film’s sole focus as they are balanced against Vera’s contemplation of the possibilities presented by the opening up of life and the...

One of the most intriguing parts of television shows is recasting actors even when they have been doing well with their performance. And Ed Skrein knows exactly how that feels after he was replaced in Game of Thrones.
Credits: Ed Skrein in Game of Thrones / HBO
Fans would remember the actor notably portrayed Daario Naharis, the dashing love interest of Daenerys Targaryen. Then, all of a sudden, the studio decided to ditch him in the fourth season with a new star on board.
Ed Skrein Opens Up About Getting Replaced in Game of Thrones
Many had been wondering why there was a need to replace Ed Skrein in Game of Thrones, and while the reports claimed he walked away to work on a new movie at the time, it was not entirely true. Indeed, he starred in The Transporter: Refueled in 2015, but it was not the reason he departed from the show.

What’s the difference between a psychological horror and a psychological thriller?
Well, it could be as simple as comparing the style of Stanley Kubrick to that of David Fincher. One is in love with emotional turmoil, and the other paints vivid images of realistic terror.
Psychological horror is not about catch and release — the formula of most horror thrillers. Most horror films you can think of fall into the cozy genres of suspense thriller (Silence of the Lambs), psychological thriller (Jacob’s Ladder), or slasher (The Strangers).
(Warner Bros. (Max screenshot))
You’re outrunning Art the Clown, Michael Myers, or Freddy Krueger when you watch a thriller. When you watch a psychological thriller, you’re figuring out a mystery in real time with the protagonist.
You’re figuring out the horrible truth of your fate, like Grace in The Others, or uncovering a diabolical plot, like in Chris in Get Out.

The 68th edition of the BFI London Film Festival (Lff) is wrapping up Sunday night with Piece by Piece, the animated Lego biopic of Pharrell Williams by Morgan Neville (Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, 20 Feet From Stardom) following the unveiling of this year’s various competition winners, led by Adam Elliot’s claymation feature Memoir of a Snail.
Set in Australia in the 1970s, the movie, which had already won the animation-focused Annecy Film Festival, stars Succession‘s Sarah Snook as Grace Pudel, a shy girl born with a cleft palate who grows up with her wild and occasionally pyromaniac twin brother Gilbert (Kodi Smit-McPhee) but eventually becomes a lonely hoarder of ornamental snails. Her only friend is a wild octogenarian named Pinky (Jacki Weaver). Eric Bana, Dominique Pinon, and Nick Cave provide supporting voice work. IFC Films has set an Oct. 25 U.S. release date.

This is how to defeat Leonine Misbegotten in the latest FromSoftware project. The game developers have spent the last few years exclusively working on the Soulslike genre and have grown exponentially. Players have been begging for a new challenge and the game developers did not hold back.
Leonine Misbegotten is an optional boss and is not required to advance the plot of the base game; however, most players are up for the challenge and are looking for any excuse to use their newfound skills and talents against overpowered foes. Hopefully, this guide will help you before facing this optional enemy.

I’ve seen documentaries reveal fascinating dimensions of John Lennon — films like “The U.S. vs. John Lennon” (2006), which chronicled his political activism and the Nixon administration’s attempts to deport him, or “The Lost Weekend: A Love Story” (2022), a portrait of Lennon’s relationship with May Pang. But “One to One: John & Yoko,” despite its rather nondescript title, may be the most accomplished and arresting of these tightly angled Lennon profiles. “The Lost Weekend” showed us a side of Lennon that had been somewhat under the radar. “One to One” deals with the period just before the Lost Weekend, starting in August 1971, when John and Yoko moved from their country estate outside London to New York City, where they spent 18 months living in a small apartment in the West Village. (It was after that that they moved into the Dakota.)

Bas Yahi Khaasiyat Thi Tum Mein Ke Tumhe Hum Chahte Thay
Aaj Tak Yahi Jhooth Kaha Tha Tumse
Chalo Aaj Sach Bata Dete Hain
Cheez Ik Bewaffa Thi Badi
Yaaron Wo Bhi Mujhe Mil Gayi
Wo Na Ban Jaaye Qismat Meri
Dua Kijiye

Olivia Cooke revealed that Alicent Hightower had more intimate scenes with Fabien Frankel’s Criston Cole in the second season of House of the Dragon, but the most intense of it was ultimately left in the editing room.

Alicent and Criston’s relationship is displayed full-on in the second installment, but the show made sure it would not be the focus. The audience would only get a few seconds of the pair having romantic rendezvous and that would be it.
House of the Dragon Removed Olivia Cooke and Fabien Frankel’s Intense Bed Scene
George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood gave no hint of Alicent Hightower and Criston Cole’s romance, but House of the Dragon used this tactic to bring more layers to these two characters who once used to be allies with Rhaenyra Targaryen.

In the novel, Mickey is sent on dangerous missions to colonize an ice planet. When one version of Mickey dies, a duplicate is created to replace him that retains most of his memories.
Along with Pattinson, the cast includes Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo.
“Mickey 17” is directed and written by Bong, who also produces through his company Offscreen. Additional producers include Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B and Dooho Choi of Kate Street Pictures.
Warner Bros. has nudged “Mickey 17” a few times on its theatrical schedule, most recently bumping the film from a March 29, 2024, date to its current January 2025 slot.

General Hospital spoilers for Wednesday, September 18, focus on characters who are in for a shock, in for bad news, and in for a catch-up.
Mother-Daughter Chat
Portia (Brook Kerr) and Trina (Tabyana Ali) have a much-needed catch-up session. It’s totally understandable why. After all, they haven’t spent that much time together in the past few months. (Check out Gh’s Comings & Goings here)
Read This: A look back at Soap Stars on Dancing with the Stars.
Maybe Portia can tell her daughter if she did anything to mess with Heather’s (Alley Mills) test results—the ones she was so diligently waiting for. Trina, of course, continues to grieve for Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), so you’d think her mom would want an update on how she’s doing with all of that. We’ll see what actually transpires, however.
