I really liked the acting and the story, the music not so much. Jessica and Anthony were quite natural and very good together. I couldnt stop watching cause I wanted to see when Leon would have got rid of his terrible girlfriend and Tiffany her abnoxious boyfriend. I really liked the Brighton scenery, reminded me of old times. Since I havent read the book I can be no expert but It was more like a romantic dramedy than a comedy, I think. With a different soundrack it would have been great! Ok, maybe 6 episodes were too many but then again 4 episodes wouldnt be enough! Dont miss it! You should definitely give it a go!

I haven't read the book, as many others have so I didn't have anything to compare it to. I also didn't go into it having any expectations. I watched out of sheer boredom. I was pleasantly surprised, and ended up binge-watching it in one sitting.
It was light-hearted, which was much welcomed as life is all too serious enough. Although the plot was typical and predictable I loved the relatable and natural side of it. The main characters acting were great and their chemistry was believable. Although I already knew where the story was going it still didn't take away from the need to continue to watch in anticipation of the conclusion.
I think the story could have been concluded in less than 6 parts, however, I'm not complaining as it simply gave me more to watch! I would definitely recommend it.

Though, this ground was already covered in the movie... the night we never met. Basically Tiffany needs a cheap flat and Leon needs money so they make an arrangement where Tiffany gets the apartment from 8 pm to 8 am and Leon from 8 am to 8 pm. Leon is a nurse who works at night. So, per the roommate agreement they never meet and only communicate by post it notes.. until hijinks ensue.
Frankly the series was too long. It came to its natural conclusion around episode 4 and you could tell they were dragging it out. The non picked love interests were total tropes that were a chore to watch because they were such horrible people. And finally I think this would have been better if they had Jonah Hauer-King as Leon. It is glaring that he is in this but only has a small insignificant part.
On the plus side thank you to the actor who does play Leon (Anthony Welsh) for creating a unique character -- a true introvert -- that is interesting and compelling. But I never necessarily got the feeling he had any feelings for Tiffany or anyone in the world. Even his concern about his brother seemed like stubbornness.

Watch this then read the book. The series is kind of watchable. I just finished the book and went straight to watch the series but this series just shares the idea that a man and woman share a bed night and day but nothing else is the same.
The best friend at work in the book is now a jealous work rival.
Leon's nice girlfriend is snoopy and jealous and interfering.
When Tiffany calls her best friend who is a male his flat mate is shown stopping him talking to her so they can kiss.
This series shows women to be mean and manipulative and back stabbing which is 100% opposite from the message in the book.
And tiff, mr prior, Justin and hollys character are someone new altogether.
The book is wonderful uplifting look at a woman who is an individual free spirit but has been made to feel small and useless through abuse but through all kinds of female support she sees she has been used badly and tries to move forward. The romance goes alongside the friendships. Here women are all against each other and only a man can save you!
I could go on describing how all the wonderful feminist values the book had have been pulverised in this series but really just read the book.

Usually book to tv series conversions are pretty poorly done but I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I read the book about 6 months ago so it's been a while but the series seemed to incorporate all of the best elements that I did remember and kept the characters feeling 'real'. The relationships in the series were good, although I feel like it could have been a little longer (developed the brother storyline a bit more) as some parts were way more important in the book, but what they did choose to keep was really well done. All in all I would certainly recommend and will probably watch again in the future!

Since I've read a book just a month ago I was very excited to watch its tv adaptation.
I loved Jessica and Anthony, they were both great and I liked their chemistry. Actually all of the actors were good.
Sometimes this series felt a little slow, sometimes boring, but at the end I liked it. I think it didn't need to be 6 episodes, maybe 4 would have been enough. They have changed a bit of what was written in a book but that really didn't matter.
I give it 6 stars because I would love this series to be more dynamic and I would love another music in the show because it was too background.
Check it out.

A very predictable storyline in terms of trajectory and ending but my wife and I both enjoyed it (especially my wife) and made for good viewing on a very rainy gloomy day (which we've had an awful lot of for so many weeks now)
The lead characters were very likeable: the hero throughout and the heroine more and more as the series progressed. Some of the villains were very good too, especially Leon's girlfriend, who put in a deft performance. On the other hand, the heroine's ex-boyfriend was a bit hammy at times and close to over-acting although I get that they wanted to portray him as psychotic. His 'entrance' at the awards ceremony was hilarious.
As for locations - I think I spotted Exmouth Market - there weren't enough street scenes. A lot went on in small rooms and so the filming felt claustrophobic at times. I'd also criticise the music, which was pretty awful, cheesy, generally sub-par.
The subplot about Mr Prior and his lost love got a bit twee and very predictable. Surely the writer could have done a little better on that front?

Absolutely loved this series, not too cheesy , you know what's going to happen from the start but , it's such a programme with really sad moments in it , happy moments, funny moments and 100% brilliant watch.
Really liked the unusual set out of the story with the flat share , I don't know if this happens in real life but , as soon as this series started , episode 1 had me hooked , such likeable characters and a great cast , all the actors were amazing and Tiffany and Leon , 2 absolutely great looking people , but sorry Justin , I know he was acting but what an absolute butt hole , great program.

I stumbled across this series by accident and never regretted watching it for a second.
I decided to leave a short review from myself - an amateur.
Returning to the series...
First, what can be noted is the general visual - a pleasant and juicy picture, just like on the cover.
Secondly, the atmosphere of a diverse :) and modern London, filled with living characters, easily immerses the viewer in the action of events. P. S. We especially observe this effect when viewed with headphones.
And thirdly, although the series is not intricate in terms of plot, it is still quite entertaining and, as a result, after watching, you feel lightness and enjoyment .
It is important to mention that I did not expect anything from this series and for me the presence of high-quality shooting in technical terms and the absence of conspicuous inconsistencies and stupid actions of the characters in the plot are already sufficient requirements for me to like the series.

... premise is rom-com-fluff... being little more than your lighthearted-routine-romantic-comedy... you-know, one without any-real-comedy as such... the two leads are the sole reason why the production has charm, most especially her... when she's not onscreen, all anyone can do who's watching is to wait for her return... it was six-episodes that really could-should have-been a-ninety-minute-movie
... one critic had the apt-description: "a romantic comedy, cost of living cheese party, a baked camembert served with mozzarella sauces and crispy parmesan cheese on the side. Downton's Brown Findlay floats as the gentle, aimless Tiffany, while Brassic's Welsh ponders as the uptight with hidden depths Leon. It's Emily in Paris, but set in the UK, so more self-deprecating, and instead of haughty glamour, it has a soft-heart and maudlin-core."

I tried this and gave up half way through the first episode. Independently about 6 months later, I picked up the book and was hooked. I've now gone back and can see what is off with the series. The characters are simplified beyond recognition. The charm of the book is that as they reveal themselves to each other, they are revealed to you. Here there is nothing to reveal. Also the tone is completely different, hard and slightly unpleasant, drama for the sake of it. I don't really care about these people unlike those who inhabit the book. This is ok entertainment but not for me. The actors do a decent job with what they've got but to my view that is corrupted, shoddy material.

I haven't read the book so no comparison - a lot of the lower reviews seem to come from people who are unhappy with the adaption.
So as an unbiased watcher - I think this show holds up as its own without reading the book first. .
All the acting was amazing and it had very realistic and natural dialogue and I love the chemistry between the two leads!
I also really loved all the supporting cast - everyone was perfect in their role and there wasn't a weak link.
Other people have complained about it being slow in parts, I disagree ! I loved the premise and because it was told over 6 episodes it was able to open up all the smaller storylines through out.
Loved it ! So cute and will definitely recommend!

Watched the whole show in one go with my SO, we were sure that if we didn't watch it all immediately we never would've put it on again. With that said, it definitely isn't a bad show, but it's certainly not a masterpiece either as it is rather basic apart from the quite interesting subplot about his brother (thinking the brother is cute might've made us biased..)
We found the main character rather childish and often irrational and boring, and acting entitled many times.
Also the whole subplot about the young Holly-girl as some kind of life-coach was super weird and somehow cliche. That goes for the old-gay-lover-plot as well. Didn't see the need for those storylines, the main characters should've been able to fall in love in other ways (like living together and writing copious amounts of post-its??) and not because they we're parent-trapped by a girl on her deathbed.
Would still recommend if you want to see something extremely light and yet deep.

If you are watching this and expecting it to be just like the book since it's "based on the book," then just skip it or expect to be highly disappointed. Writers changed the characters to be so insufferable. They made Tiffy so unbelievably and hopelessly pathetic and Leon a fkn loser and cynic, who thinks the world is after him all the frkn time, it was painful to watch. Kay was more of a psycho than Justin. There's no Martin, which I thought was relevant to the story. Instead, they added Si, the officemate they could've skipped because he had no purpose in the show at all. They made Mr. Prior a grumpy, old man who hates interaction with people and Rachel a stuck up lesbian. Holly was older in this show too and was too serious imo. The plot was so different than the original story, it's so cliche and nauseating. I don't even understand why each episode had to last at least 45 minutes. It was pure agony watching it because the romance was so forced and rushed, unless maybe you haven't read the book, then by all means, this show is okay. Typical "romance story" with all its hang ups with the ex and the drama including it.
Interesting premise, want to call it avant-garde, it's not the amazing but it's definitely original which is why I thought it'd be interesting enough for a watch. Thought it'd be more of a comedy as well. I had a senior roommate in my freshman year and with our different schedules we literally almost never met so that's what caught my attention for this. It's nothing mind blowing, but it's no where near as bad as it could be or I expected it to be. If you're looking for a groundbreaking new show this might not be it, but it makes for a pretty decent pass time.
You can pretty much guess how it's gonna go as the characters have this "will they, won't they?" lure, not really from the chemistry they exude, more about the story just leading here naturally. Some of the side plots somewhat just as predictable. So the show's premise might be unique, but the characters not so much. I'm a sucker for awkward meet-cutes so I'll take it wherever I can. Still manages to throw in a couple surprises. The shows nothing spectacular but if you don't take it seriously, it's not the worst way to spend an afternoon, pretty easy binge with only 6 episodes.

One of the worst and most predicable shows with ridiculous characters (Justin). I can't believe this was even produced. While the premise seems interesting, the show completely de-evolves after episode one. The trailer consists of literally the 2 minutes of the show that it is actually interesting and has something to say. If this was what our cultural productions have come to, it is a sad statement of human thought and engagement. There is absolutely no critical thought contained in this show and even the visuals (which have elevated other works to at least aesthetically pleasing cinematic journeys) are mediocre at best.

I have read the book and loved it! This however is soooo different. The premise is the same but other than that they changed so much which for me made it feel watered down and bleak. They made the charctets less likable and more annoying. I didn't feel any of the chemistry. In the book I loved how they were interacting through post-it notes, but here I didn't feel that what they included was enough to build a possibility for a love story. Even the first meeting was so watered down (pun intended) it was disappointing. I really went into it wanting to love it. I kept hoping it would improve but it didn't. I'll just stick to the book.

The same typical thing that is happening across all content production whether it's film or series or documentaries I'm not sure what's happening, but it's either there are no more competent producers and directors or they suddenly run out of budget in the middle of the production, but this is a Sure that had so much potential, but of course blown into pieces by extremely bad, acting extremely bad, casting and terrible terrible attempt at developing characters into something meaningful but instead the main actress angers most of us viewers with her extremely dumb actions during the show and it's so far from reality like people don't do these things that you see in this show and many other shows. I think we need a new age of Contant probably coming for more independent sources with something really original.
