The size of the chainsaw guide bar seems considerably longer when Leatherface is sawing through the bathroom door on the bus to get to Melody and Lila.

This film is set in West Texas "near Fort Davis," but is also somehow set in the same area as the original 1974 film. This makes little sense, as the original film is set in north-central Texas near the town of Childress, which is over 400 miles (670 kilometers) away from Fort Davis.

The muffler on the poulan 306a used in the film changes from before the kills happen and after.

At around 55:00 when Leatherface is carving a hole in the bus toilet door, it's almost a hexagonal shape while the saw is cutting the door, but when he punches through it, it's a different, rougher shape.

Leatherface gets the 47 year old chainsaw going with little fuss, in real life it'd need to be completely rebuilt, Not to mention fuel being viable for almost 50 years.

Sally carries with her the picture of her friends taken in 1973. That photograph was destroyed by The Hitchhiker in the original as they didn't want to buy it from him. However, it's not the photo that the Hitchhiker took. Everyone but Sally is present in the photo, which indicates it is a photo that she took during their trip.

It's amazing how Leatherface's chainsaw can operate at all considering he hasn't used it since 1973, and he's been keeping it hidden behind a wall all this time. The chainsaw should be old, rusted and unable to work. However, Leatherface is heard walking off into his bedroom to fix the chainsaw. He can even be heard tuning or repairing the chainsaw while Melody tries to escape.

There is no explanation as to why Leatherface, a regular human being, has not aged a day in 50 years. However, the opening documentary section of the film shows that Leatherface was between 16 and 20 years old. The film takes place in August of 2020, so he would be 63 to 67. He has clearly aged since then.

Sally's Texan accent slips several times and the actress' actual Irish accent comes through.

When Leatherface pops his head up in the field, it's very obvious that it's a green screen effect since an outline can be seen around him.

In the opening scene, the driver side rear window is up in one scene, when the guy in the pickup explain the story for carrying the firearm, the window in down. Next scene, when the female gets in the car, the window is up and she lowers it.

Despite being set in Texas, tall snowcapped mountains can frequently be seen in the background of most scenes. Although there are some smaller ranges in West Texas, they are nowhere near as tall and pointed as the mountains seen in this film, and nowhere in Texas do snowcapped mountains exist.

Sally Hardesty has been dead since Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990), according to the narration. Her corpse is even seen in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994). However, she is alive and well in this film.

What makes Sally think Leatherface would know the name of her, her brother, and her friends, when he never heard their names in the original film? They were nothing but food to them.
