It's the king of Atlantis, first day at his work was already working my laughter, so hilarious you'd almost pee your pants, so captivating well done.
Okay like I need more of this Wait what's the hold up.

The biggest complaint I have about this show is the run time being 45 minutes per episode and the fast-paced comedic approach feeling tired at times due to that. Oddly enough, I see people complain about this show ruining the characters but it's very much the other way around that stifles my enjoyment personally.. When you have DC characters like Aquaman and Mera you have to fit in lots of action and fight scenes and besides the presentation of those moments they're easily the least enjoyable moments of this show (Minus Episode 2 where the final fight actually does something new and creative with it's problem solving as opposed to punch-outs.). Mera and Aquaman's dynamic reminds me a whole lot of Marco and Star in Star Vs The Forces Of Evil, you could even draw parallels between Ocean Man and Ludo which makes for fun all around.
[Sidenote: much prefer Mera's depiction here as well as a comic book fan. Similar characters are often too samey including Medusa in Inhumans or even Namorita.. I quite like the deviation.]
Voice acting is absolute quality, and the animation is a obvious highlight. It has the cleanliness of an Adventure Time, fluidity of TMNT: Rise, the slapstick of Ren And Stimpy with just a touch of Psychic Pebbles or Superjail-like dirtiness. The story is a bit lacking, but I feel like that's when I get into the territory of asking too much from a show obviously meant for a younger audience as well as something that exists as a 3-episode mini series.
The fact that HBO removed this and a show like Infinity Train picture-perfect display their lack of knowledge and care for the animation industry while renewing something as cynical as Velma for a second season (although, the animation is the only good part of that show.). I would've loved to see this make some sort of return or to yearly show this to someone who hasn't seen it as it's a quick and enjoyable watch. My complaints are so minor but I think the only way to make this show better would've been to reduce the amount of action and squish the episodes down to at least 30-35 minutes to make for a tighter watching experience with no room for dragging.
Solid Solid 7/10 overall and episode 2 (even if just for the finale) is a must-watch for any animator/fan of animation as a whole.

As someone else said, this is just a copycat of adventure time and has nothing to do with the comics.
What I am going to add is that I love watching animations, I don't think they are "childish" and sometimes I even surprise myself with what I am able to watch. This animation style, however, is just....literally the worst I have ever seen. How is it possible that cartoons from my childhood like ed edd and eddy, courage, cow and chicken are better animated.

I think the animation alone deserves a praise for this show. The first sequence, each facial expression and actions scenes are so well done and colors are amazing.
Voice acting is really great. I can't wait to hear more of Ocean Master by Dana Snyder. Gillian Jacobs probably gave one of the most chaotic Mera portrayals so far and felt like listening to her episodes on Comedy Bang Bang (Recommended 100%).
It reminded me of, Spongebob (which clearly was an inspiration for the series) a lot as well. Especially some awkward times or faces in the show really brought those memories watching the show, and were really funny.
Edit: Just finished the second episode and to be honest, it's animation and VA is amazing and just gets better. Doesn't deserve it's 5.9 at all.

This is by far the worst. Has nothing to do with the comics other than using the names and political positions of the characters. Has nothing to do with any other Aquaman content anywhere. If you were expecting that by watching a show called Aquaman you were gonna see DCs Aquaman you are gonna be let down.
This is just a blatant Adventure Time Clone where Finn is played by less lovable Aquaman and Jake is less funny Mera. Only one episode has come out so far but it's not off to a good start, it gives you the feeling that HBO would love to do more Adventure Time.. but for less money.
If you like bad writing, unchallenging animation, and story that is unconnected from the source material in a big way this show is for you.

There are gonna be a lot of bad reviews saying that this is ruining the character and that it is bad and uninspired, written out of (mostly unecessary) hatred towards thunder cats roar by people that didn't even watch either one of these cartoons.
I understand that this show's humor is not everyone's cup of tea but i quite enjoyed it, at some points it was a bit much but never really got annoying at any point.
The use of colour is really great and works well with the simple cartoony style, that simplicity also makes it possible for the animators to take the stage and make some really fluid and awesome looking fights.
Overall it was a great start to the series and i cant wait to watch the next episode.

Aquaman has no yellow hair and no yellow beard and he has no orange shirt. He looks nothing like Aquaman at all! Please give Aquaman a more accurate design closer to his comic version.

I really, really hate the look of this; the neon vomit crust indistinguishable from 10,000 art styles on Twitter, Tumblr and the like. The comedy is... fine, but the way the animation seems to be desperately trying to crank up the comedy with wildly different energy levels (the voice acting being pretty measured next to insane visuals) does not do it any favors. I will commend them on an interesting release style, not quite a show, miniseries or limited series, but I was really put off.

Utterly ridiculous. Incredibly fun. And despite how goofy this is, i think it is the most interesting take on Mera i've ever come across: completely unhinged and always itching for a fight (but not quite literally insane as she was in the comics for a while), and Gillian Jacobs is hilarious.
If you are bothered by the fact that this is not faithful to the comics or annoyed that it doesn't take the character seriously, you might want to check in on your emotional well being. Go for a walk. Maybe lay off Reddit for a while. Possibly even see a therapist. Being angry at a cartoon is not healthy. Grim and gritty Aquaman is still out there. But wait, can you be gritty underwater though, or does it just wash off?

Episodes: 1-3
A non-canonical animated entry in the DC Extended Universe set after the events of Aquaman (2018).
Unique looking character designs and smooth animation style, a stellar voice cast (especially Gillian Jacobs as Mera) and a nice calming soundtrack.
Episode 1 (3 star) was good and enjoyable, but Episode 2 (2 star) and 3 (1 star) had poor writing and weak humour. I didn't liked how they made Aquaman a court jester and a laughing stock.
I decided to watch this show after the news about HBO Max removing this from their service broke out.

I really don't have anything negative to say about this show. It's incredibly fun and absolutely beautiful. What?! A show designed by the thundercats team is beautiful?!? YES. It looks so good. The world and environments are so well-designed and immersive. The colors are rich and juicy! I can't recall a single shot that I didn't find aesthetically appealing.
The character designs are silly and weird and yes, kinda ugly sometimes. But I think that's kinda the point? There is comedy in the absurdity of the contorted faces and ridiculous poses. And combine that with the clever and often subtle humor and you just might find yourself having a good chuckle throughout.
As many have said, this may not be your cup of tea. And that's perfectly fine. Maybe you wanted an anatomically correct, super serious, rippling pectoral, washboard abs, sweat glistening Aquaman (you'll actually still get that here...) and I get that. But I really believe that anyone willing to give this show a chance will find themselves having a good time. Despite the whimsical, careless style, this show has some really wonderful moments. The characters are lovable right from the start and despite the silliness you'll find that the show has a lot to say about self-doubt, feeling like an outsider, and rising to the occasion when given a difficult task. I don't know, it just has a lot of heart and I was glad I tuned in.
So, if you have it in you, please don't shoot this one down. It's great fun and I don't think anyone who watches with an open heart and mind will regret it.

Its animation is really great, reminding me of a mix of Ren & Stimpy, Spongebob and Superjail. Though I thought this Aquaman would be more like the Batman: Brave and the Bold iteration (strong loud and dumb), I like the fish out of water, or rather, human IN water take. It just makes what little character development and plot there is more engaging. Always love hearing the voices of Dana Snyder and Tom Lennon. That being said, I don't know what a lot of people were expecting from this, a dark gritty Zach Snyder version? Is it too wacky for the emo edgelords? Not to be insulting, but it's fun to have a off the wall show sometimes with chaotic humor.

Never saw the Aquaman movie, but you really don't have to in order to enjoy this show. Loved the antics of Aquaman and Mera, thought that the show had a fun sense of humor. Animation is sometimes choppy, and there was an occasional joke or line that seemed way too cheesy or just didn't make any sense. But those moments don't ruin anything.
This was really fun and entertaining i loved the animation it reminded me of adventure time and midnight gospel it's obviously targeted for a younger audience but still doesn't lay into the mindless humor that most shows do trying to reach that demo-graph I throughly enjoyed the humor however I know this style is not for everyone especially those a keen to the animated projects that dc has put out these past few years with the dark and gritty approach and don't get me wrong I love that style too however it was really refreshing to see such light hearted entertainment I love when studios try to broaden their pallet I just hope the rest of the series Is as entertaining.

This is such a funny show. The animation is fantastic and the voice acting is a riot. I went into Aquaman hoping it wouldn't be another lighthearted cartoon network show (not that I don't enjoy them I just wanted something new) and I was so surprised to find it is a very intelligent and deep show that dives (no pun intended) into the world of Atlantis with plenty of action and adult humor that isn't too inappropriate for the whole family! Very well written show can't wait for more!

Silly show with a fun, charming style. Difficult to really rate after just one episode so far. It would probably benefit more from shorter episodes and I hope the story goes meaningful places under its silly shell.
This is fun for sure. I'd like to see more shows like this. I saw a 1 star review about how they changed his hair color and that it's too much like adventure time and it's not like the comics. I don't understand people. It's silly and fun and well done. And it's got Tom Lennon and Gillian Jacob's. Just enjoy things that are good. Why does it have to follow the comics. Harley Quinn is another good one that doesn't follow the comics. It's fun. Have fun. Or not whatever I'm not your dad.

The animation is well done, and anybody who says different either has no understanding of how animation actually works, or wanted something completely different and is just holding this show to an unrealistic standard.
Is it a perfect show? No. I had a few problems with the writing, and the overall story and takeaway could have been better, but for the most part I liked the recurring themes and jokes within the first episode. The music and production is awesome, the people who had a hand in the production deserve credit for their hard work on this.
I also liked that even the main protagonists aren't meant to be perfect, each of them have their misgivings and make mistakes, especially Aquaman. To be honest, Aquaman has never been my favorite DC character, and this show made him way more likable and down to earth. If you like Amphibia, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe, you will (probably) like this show.

Just cartoony flashy colors with a more adult undertones
i like the 2000 new grounds feeling this gives you it makes feel like they are tryng out a new formula bur maybe thats just me.
Ignore the low score, this show is brilliant. It is to the DC Universe what Lower Decks is to Star Trek, it pokes fun at itself, and it seems some people don't understand that.
There's even one reviewer here that gave it 1/10 because they didn't like the colour of Aquaman's hair.
Apart from being petty, and utterly childish, that's not what these ratings are for, but that's the trouble with the Internet, it's given village idiots the chance to go global.
It's a fun show that doesn't take itself seriously, and it's all the more refreshing because of that.
The voice acting is great, the animation style is quirky, and the humour is well balanced with the action.
So ignore the 'Aquaman's shirt is the wrong colour so it's crap' nonsense and give it a try, you won't regret it- even if it's just to see Mera being all psycho, punching everyone and everything in sight... A red-headed 9/10 🍄

Please make more of these! This 3-episode miniseries comedically spinning off from the recent Aquaman movie by James Wan should be expanded into a full series. The first episode requires some adjustment from the viewer into the Adventure Time/Spongebob quirkiness and weirdness but sets up the following amazing and hilarious episodes with the third being an epic conclusion... or a beginning, as Aquaman gains the acceptance and approval of Atlanteans as their heroic king. It's action packed, you will trip balls with the colours and designs, and it's simply increasingly funny and amusing!

Gave this show a watch because I love Aquaman and because the art style looked unique. It's like a kid-friendly follow up to the Aquaman movie, and it was so much fun! There were a ton of times where I was caught off guard by the humor, and the cartoony, fluid visuals are actually really pretty in a lot of the scenes.
Also Dana Snyder is Ocean Master which is incredible and an absolute must see.

I've only had laughs watching this show and talk about doing the most with what you got this was a delight to watch. I seriously can not believe that people who review this negatively have no other reason besides "it does not match the comics" or "why is aqua man hair green". Such a shame that people don't like this show for such petty reasons and they are not willing to have an open mind. The music, voice acting, backgrounds, and animation was awesome.

There were moments of absolute animation magic! It was very funny and the story is well written!
Buuuuut,
An animation cannot be longer than 22 minutes or it becomes dumb. Let us hope the creators realize they're not Invincible.
