The official accounts for the upcoming live-action TV drama adaptation Wingman , based on Masakazu Katsura's superhero manga from 1983, today announced five additional cast members including voice actor Mamoru Miyano . Miyano is cast as Kitakura, a handsome new teacher who is assigned to the high school attended by the protagonist, Kenta Hirono. "I am very happy to be able to be involved in Katsura-sensei's work again in this way, and to be able to work with Director Sakamoto again in a way that I never thought possible. My heart is shaken by my actor life with a strange destiny," said Miyano. "On the set, I was moved by Director Sakamoto's passionate direction, and we were able to proceed while having deep discussions about my role with Katsura-sensei. Mobile Suit Gundam is one of the classic anime franchises ever. Yoshiyuki Tomino’s masterpiece was adapted into an anime in 1979. The children were attracted to the flying mecha-battle suits and humanoids and how they fought each other. The anime was later adapted into a popular video game series and also has several movies under its banner.

While Mobile Suit Gundam earned worldwide fame and inspired several mangakas, Yoshiyuki Tomino never wanted the series viewed as a commercial anime. There is a hidden meaning to the story, yet the viewers are only attracted to it because of the mecha-humanoids. It was more of an obsession rather than liking the plot.

My Hero Academia The Movie: You're Next , the upcoming fourth film based on the superhero manga by Kohei Horikoshi, announced on the film's official website today that Japanese fashion model/actor Meru Nukumi and voice actor Mamoru Miyano are cast in the new movie as two original characters. Horikoshi provided the original designs for the characters. Nukumi is cast as Anna Scervino, a daughter of the wealthy Scervino family. Because of her special "Quirk," she is the object of Dark Might's obsession. She has a relationship with Julio as lady and butler, but she is taken away by Dark Might, the main villain of the film. "As a fan of [My Hero Academia], I have watched the series for a long time, so it was like a dream come true to be offered this opportunity. I was also very glad to work as a voice actor, which I had always wanted to try!

The Gundam Breaker series is getting ready to continue with its first numbered entry in over six years. Bandai Namco Entertainment announced plans to bring Gundam Breaker 4 to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam), and a global launch date has been locked in for August 29, 2024.
