In the original books, the Chicken Squad has four chickens. For this TV series, the number has been reduced to three.
Sweetie is the only Chicken Squad member from the books to retain her name.
In the original books, Captain Tully is a male dog named J.J. Tully.
The first of the original books feature colored pages. Subsequent books, however, feature only black and white pages, except for their covers which are still colored.
