Unlike the book, Daisy's real name is Margaret and she changes it as an act of rebellion. Daisy is actually a nickname for Margaret.

Goofs
In a scene depicted as taking place in 1970, Daisy plays the piano and sings in a bar. As she leaves, on the sidewalk outside the door is a carton of Bud Light beer, which was introduced in 1982.

Decent start, but hardly thrilling

Most reviews about this show seem to have been written by people who read the novel, which I haven't so my review is based only on what I watched.

The main reason why I choose to follow this show is because I thought it may have good music and the music is indeed good. The plot seems predictable, but there is just so much you can do with the story of an LA based-band in the 70s, except spicing it up with the personal conflicts, sexual tension and drugs that every real band had at the time.

What i was fearing is the "contemporary" touch of Daisy being a champion of feminist independence and the introduction of the African-American lesbian character, which I'm sure will take up way too much time in the show, even if her role is the token politically correct, force-fed, patronising presence of which no show can do without.
