The first hour annoyed the hell out of me. I didn't like the two leads, thought they were immature and annoying. They just always looked so pleased with themselves.

At first I thought it was a documentary because some of the lesser characters, such as the people in the diner, were very natural and realistic. (and I don't like to read too much about a film before I watch it). But the dude who plays the private eye they hire?!?! Jeez, where did they get him from? When he turns up its obvious it's not real as his acting is so bad. Once there is the big confrontation, it improved and was quite fun, and that's what got it an extra 3 stars from me.

In this era of fake news and media propaganda and mass misinformation, this is so cliche and unwatchable. Spinal tap was funny. This is just two guys punking people and thinking that's funny.

Obviously all the high ratings are friends of/or cast and the movie is boring trash. You're welcome for the time I saved you after watching the entire film...

'Faking a Murderer' is a wacky little movie. I had only seen the poster before going in, so I was expecting basically a straight up horror, or at least a "found footage' style film leading up to the horror at the end. It was certainly more like the former of those, however if anything I think the correct classification for this film would be comedy. It is a very funny movie in parts.

This is about as unpredictable as films ever come. I really had no idea where they were headed with this, or even what was likely to happen next. I love that in a film. There is a decent fright or two thrown into the mix as well. One minute you're laughing, the next you're getting a heart jolt. It's a wild ride.

This is one of those films where if you don't "get it" or it simply isn't your style of humour then you're likely not going to have a good time. I think most people will though and for that reason I would recommend giving it a chance. 7/10.

I suspect the glowing reviews are fake... because those accounts have only reviewed one movie, this one. And boy oh boy, this is a smug trying-to-be-screwball ride of a movie. I couldn't finish it so you may not find this review helpful, but the two main actors were so irritating I had to bail with 20 min to go. Good luck to you.

I thought this movie was lot of fun. It took me a bit to warm up to the characters and story but after I did it was a good time. Some decent laughs where I didn't expect them.

Standard mockumentary, overall not unpleasant but with no highlights. Many more movies are worth of your time.

The first two acts of this movie got me as a real documentary. No spoilers but this thing really messed with my head and the ending is what I thought to be extremely smart. Kudos to the filmmakers. This is definitely one to recommend.

A slow start which builds into nothing. This movie seemed to be more about one-up-manship than abutting else. The constant 'high school style' bickering is irritating and unnecessary. This movie is more about two spoilt, self-important, unaccomplished little boys than the supposed content of chasing down a murderer. A completely self indulgent mess of a movie.

This is not a crime genre movie.

If you're looking to have light fun watching a comedy mockumentary go ahead.

Pretty much a "The Office"/"Parks and Rec" styled fake documentary where the leads are constantly making fools of themselves. They're not bad as "awkward/uncomfortable" mockumentary actors, but thats their only trick. It gets old and stale by the 10 minute mark. I mean, the world's seen enough of Dwight Schrute and Michael Scott.

I'm currently on minute 40 and the investigation hasn't started. They're still being naive, unprepared, clueless, boring. I'll stop it now.

And I thought Frank D'Angelo movies were bad..5 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Canadian movies are just terrible and this takes the cake..Trying too hard to be like Blair Witch Project and idiotic comedy blended in one. ........

This film must have had a budget of $80 absalutly rubbish film ,no substance they could have crammed that film into 15 min max and you still would have been bored...predictable outcome within 2 min of watching film...save your self and dont watch it is my advise.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Seriously was sooo good! Very original, not predictable and keeps you intrigued the whole time, and Stu and Adam were so funny! I think Quentin Tarantino would highly approve!

This was such a clever film. I enjoyed the characters tremendously and thought what they did was out of the box and innovative in this genre. It was definitely low budget, but that should never be considered when rating a film. It's a recommend from me. #solid.

I really enjoyed this film! It turned out to be so different from what I was expecting (in the best way). I love the humor in this film! The ending was satisfying. The cast did an amazing job! I have nothing but positive things to say.

I didn't know what to expect. I rented the movie and never once paused it. I never sit through a whole movie, I was so interested in what was going to happen next I never stopped. I laughed so hard especially at the hotel scenes 🛏🔦😂 I watched it again and saw things I missed the first time. At $10 I decided to get it. I knew I was going to watch it again. Definitely a fun movie mixed with everything.

There is a genius behind this movie which explains some "lower ratings". Not all will get this humor for what it really is* if you can appreciate a unique filmmaking approach and have a good grasp of real comedy then this movie is for you* yes there are some downfalls like all movies, but it deserves a watch... Maybe even two if you are one of those who didn't get it the first time!

Quirky, out there. A touch slow to start, but hang in there...

I didn't know what to expect when I started the film. I knew it was not a big budget production but I had seen the previous documentary "Jack of All Trades" from these guys and enjoyed it. Very shortly after starting the movie, I was already impressed with the production quality and timing of the main characters working with each other. There was a lot of uncomfortable comedy (sort of like the humor that makes you laugh while you cringe with "The Office"). I love this type of comedy by the way. I was very entertained throughout the movie. There was comedy, drama, and suspense to be found throughout. Then the end was a rollercoaster with action and horror intermingled together. I'd highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys true crime/horror/comedy! Enjoyed every minute!
