The third and final season of What If...? is fast approaching, and Marvel Studios has just shared a new teaser offering a better idea of what's to come later this month.

While a lot of this preview is devoted to previous episodes - as a way of encouraging fans to go back and watch them - we also see plenty of intriguing season 3 footage. That includes Storm wielding Thor's hammer Mjolnir, the return of Mysterio, and Red Guardian assembling alongside The Avengers.

We still don't know whether What If...? will finally tie into the wider Multiverse Saga with this final season, though we'd imagine Marvel Animation will do something to at least tease what's to come in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Well, hopefully.

Ahead of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man's premiere on Disney+ next month, Marvel Comics will release a new prequel comic book highlighting more of this wall-crawler's earliest adventures.

Marvel Studios has its main Spider-Man, Tom Holland's Peter Parker, but previously introduced an animated Variant in What If...? season 1. This third version borrows heavily from the McU's Spidey, expanding on his origin in a world where Norman Osborn became his mentor in place of Tony Stark.

In this first look at next Wednesday's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1, we see the fateful moment Peter is bitten by the spider that gives him his amazing new powers.

However, in place of a radioactive creepy-crawly, we know that this one falls through a portal opened by Doctor Strange when one of the Sorcerer Supreme's adventures brings him to Midtown High. How much that changes what we know of Spider-Man remains to be seen.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is fast approaching and while we still don't have a trailer, some new promo art for the series is featured on upcoming merchandise for the web-slinger's return to animation.

As you can see in the X posts below, it pays homage to Steve Ditko's iconic artwork in Amazing Fantasy #15, the comic featuring the hero's first appearance on the page.

It doesn't reveal much beyond that and we know from various snippets of leaked footage that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will boast a unique animation style. As for when we'll get a trailer, chances are it will drop after What If...? season 3 so Marvel Studios can keep the focus on its next Marvel Animation title for the time being.

Wanda Maximoff is undoubtedly one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's largely down to the fact that she's one of the most popular - and powerful - characters in the Marvel Comics. When she was first introduced into the MCU, however, she wasn't as powerful as her comic book counterpart, and that instantly made fans champion for her , longing for her to inherit those limitless powers.

Elizabeth Olsen's performance quickly made Wanda one of the most beloved characters in the franchise in spite of her relatively limited screen-time, and she finally got the long overdue spotlight when she starred in Disney Plus' WandaVision as the Emmy-winning series saw the character finally become the Scarlet Witch. She then played a lead role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which saw Wanda travel down a villainous path out of grief and seemingly led to the former Avenger's demise.

There are a lot of Marvel Studios projects to look forward to in 2025. That's certainly a good thing, because as great as the offerings from the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been this year, there haven't been that many of them. We had Echo at the beginning of the year on Disney Plus, Deadpool and Wolverine released in theaters this summer, and Agatha All Along closed things out with a spookily sensational run on Disney Plus that had the world guessing the whole way throughout.

The third and final season of What If...? is set to premiere this holiday season, and separate animated series X-Men '97 enjoyed a critically-acclaimed run earlier this year. It's been a good year for Marvel, but there were also a number of titles that were supposed to release this year that didn't due to delays.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going through a bit of a reset in recent years. Certain projects from the franchise haven't been hitting quite as hard with audiences as their sure-fire predecessors did, and it has forced Marvel Studios to re-evaluate which titles and characters to focus on going forward.

We heard some time ago that season 3 would add some key Phase 4 characters to the mix, and that's evident from the presence of Kingo, Shang-Chi, Kate Bishop, and Moon Knight.

Jac Schaeffer's 2024 TV series "Agatha All Along" stars Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, a wicked sorceress who serves as a nemesis to the Scarlet Witch. The show is a direct spinoff of 2021's "WandaVision," where the character was first introduced. The new series saw Agatha forming a new coven of witches so that they along with her new teenage sidekick Teen (Joe Locke) could face the trials of the Witches' Road, a mysterious process that grants its survivors any wish they want. Agatha lost her witch powers, so she very much would like to have them back. The series also featured Aubrey Plaza as the Rio Vidal aka Death (who was Agatha's ex-girlfriend), as well as living legend, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Debra Jo Rupp.

The shows from within the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been a little frustrating to viewers,...

The McU's next show is confirmed to bring back White Vision behind one of the franchise's original stars, Paul Bettany.

While Bettany was a mainstay in the MCU throughout the Infinity Saga, his role as Vision in the Multiverse Saga has understandably been a little more limited. Outside of two episodes of work in What If...? Season 1 and his previously presumed send-off in WandaVision, he's been absent for the last three years.

That's not to say that this character is definitively done in the MCU, as Bettany has teased a Marvel Studios return as Vision for the better part of the last three years.

The MCU will make history when What If...? Season 3 is released on Disney+ with the introduction of a brand new superhero. 

What If...? Season 3 was recently announced by Marvel Studios and will premiere on Disney+ on December 22. Similar to Season 2, the upcoming installment will unveil one episode each day until all eight of the third and final season's episodes have aired.

Fans will get to witness a historic moment in the upcoming season, which is seemingly a trend that What If...? continues to innovate. For reference, Season 2 unveiled the first-ever MCU original superhero, Kahhori.

When Jude Law joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain Marvel's Yon-Rogg, fans had high hopes for the villain. Unfortunately, while the actor delivered a strong performance, Yon-Rogg falls into the category of largely forgettable Marvel Studios bad guys.

The Kree fanatic was ultimately defeated by Carol Danvers, with early plans calling for a post-credits scene revealing he'd been dumped on Sakaar. Instead, his fate was left up in the air, though that left the door open to a possible return.

Talking to GQ, Law was asked if he'd be up for reprising his supervillain role in the MCU.

"Would I do another one? Probably not," he admits. "It was alright. [My character] was a bit dry. I wanted to be a bit funnier. I was hoping to be a bit more of a sort of moustache-twirling villain, and I think I kept coming up with ideas that were not going in this film.

Marvel Television has entertained us with over 10 TV shows since it began expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the small screen via the Disney Plus streaming service, but Moon Knight may have been the most truly gripping of them all. The show marked the live-action debut of the most famous Marvel hero that isn't an X-Man to never appear in the MCU franchise, ending his MCU drought and starting a new chapter for him.

Its greatest strength was, of course, Oscar Isaac, who turned in one of the most nuanced performances in the whole franchise. What he accomplished as Marc Spector and Steven Grant (and of course Moon Knight) was nothing short of outstanding and it was a thrill to watch him perform each and every week throughout the show's six-episode run.

Marvel Studios has assembled one of its best ensembles yet for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Led by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, the supporting cast includes names like Ralph Ineson, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne.

We don't know who the latter is playing, though fans have speculated that the Russian Doll star could be everyone from Alicia Masters to the voice of H.E.R.B.I.E.

What we didn't expect was for Lyonne to join the cast of What If...? season 3 as a newly created superhero. Disney's press site has confirmed she's playing Byrdie, an original character who is shown flying into action alongside Captain Carter and Kahhori in the officially released still below.

The only character from the comics we can find with a similar name is Birdy, a mutant ally of Sabretooth who doesn't have wings...

Earlier this year, we heard that Mysterio was being lined up to make an appearance in What If...? season 3. Considering the complicated nature of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' deal to share Spider-Man, it didn't seem overly likely.

Well, as you can see below, Mysterio appears in the first trailer for the show's final season and is hooked into an extremely dangerous-looking device. 

Spider-Man: Far From Home came along before the Multiverse Saga began, introducing Quentin Beck, a Multiversal warrior whose home had been destroyed by monstrous Elementals. He was later revealed as a fraud and a disgruntled former Stark Industries employee eager to get his hands on the recently deceased Tony Stark's tech. 

However, the fact he gave the MCU the designation of Earth-616 raised some eyebrows as did the fact his comic book counterpart once found a way to hope between the main Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Universe.

As promised, Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Marvel Animation's What If...? season 3. It's also been confirmed today that, when the show returns to Disney+ on December 22, we're getting new a instalment daily for eight days.

Season 3 will be the show's last batch of episodes, and it's said fans will, "Watch as classic characters make unexpected choices that will mutate their worlds into spectacular alternate versions of the MCU. The Watcher (voice of Jeffrey Wright) will guide viewers as the series traverses new genres, bigger spectacles, and incredible new characters."

The series features an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles.

Yesterday evening, at D23 Brazil, Brad Winderbaum, Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios, presented a special reel of Marvel Animation's upcoming shows.

Those in attendance were fortunate enough to see an exclusive trailer and poster celebrating the third and final season of What If...? The culmination of the adventure through time and space, season three sees classic characters making unexpected choices that will mutate their worlds into spectacular alternate versions of the MCU.

Traversing genres, bigger spectacles and new characters, the series launches on December 22, while the trailer has been confirmed to be released online tomorrow, November 11.

The poster - which can be seen below - features a heap of Variants, including Arishem, White Vision, Agatha Harkness, multiple Watchers, the returning Kahhori, and a Storm who is wielding Mjolnir. As a result, What If...? will mark the first time an X-Men character has crossed paths with other MCU characters.

Following yesterday's exciting What If...? updates, we may have confirmation that a certain weather witch will feature in the third season of Marvel's animated anthology series.

Marvel Animation's Matt Chauncey, who serves as Head of Story for the third seasons of What If...? and X-Men '97, revealed that season 3 will not only introduce another new character created just for the show (following season 2's Kahhori), but will also feature the "long-anticipated" MCU debut of a "well-known Marvel character."

He didn't reveal any names, but a previous rumor claimed that Storm would factor into the third season, and Nexus Point News is now reporting that X-Men '97's Alison Sealy-Smith will return to voice the character.

It's hard to believe that Agatha All Along has been on our TV screens for seven weeks. If you have been one of the many viewers watching Marvel Television's Agatha All Along, you have likely been very entertained. The series has been nothing short of a joy to watch in the weeks since its debut, bringing back Agatha Harkness and fully introducing the world of witches to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This week Marvel released a new sizzle reel highlighting its upcoming live-action and animated TV series.

Marvel has dropped a new trailer showing off footage from and sharing release dates for several high-profile TV shows (and one movie) coming to the Disney+ streaming service. Watch the trailer above!

That's a pretty hefty slate. Marvel has been accused for pumping out too much content in the past and this isn't beating the allegations. On the other hand, its latest show, Agatha All Along, has been a pretty good time, so I'll remain optimistic.

Plus, a few of the shows glimpsed in that trailer look pretty good, or at least intriguing.

Earlier today, we shared a preview of Marvel Television's 2025 offerings. However, 2024 isn't over yet and when Agatha All Along ends tonight, there's still more to come from Marvel Studios.

For starters, it's been confirmed that Deadpool & Wolverine will make its streaming debut on November 12. We'd hoped it might be released before the year is over, but this is sooner than expected, particularly as it only recently arrived on Digital and Blu-ray/DVD.

We've also learned that What If...?'s third - and likely final - season is heading our way on December 22. While not confirmed, we'd imagine we'll get daily episodes over the holidays as we did with last year's season 2.

In terms of the footage revealed, we see Agent Coulson land on Earth alongside Nick Fury and some Skrulls, "Shang-Chi Cowboy," an Asgardian army, and Marvel mechs.

Late last night, fans who played the first episode of Agatha All Along were treated to a new trailer revealing the first official footage from Daredevil: Born Again, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Ironheart, What If...? season 3, Marvel Zombies, Eyes of Wakanda, and even Wonder Man.

We imagine this was meant to debut alongside tonight's two-part finale, as Marvel Studios typically releases its teasers at prime time rather than when most of the world is asleep!

Regardless, we now have confirmation that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is coming on January 29, with Ironheart set for a June 24 launch, Eyes of Wakanda rolling out on August 6, Marvel Zombies eyeing October (right in time for Halloween), and Wonder Man confirmed for December.

Marvel has been in the business of moviemaking for a very long time, but in the last number of years, it has expanded its net to the small screen too. Thanks to the Disney Plus streaming service, there have been a number of shows set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe entertaining us over the past three years and there are more to come.

From the Emmy-Award-winning WandaVision to its recent spinoff Agatha All Along, there has been plenty of MCU fun on television to enjoy. That also includes the likes of Loki, Moon Knight, Hawkeye, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law and even animated series What If...?.

But this isn't the first time that Marvel Comics characters have headlined TV shows, as there have been multiple live-action shows over the years, as well as countless animated offerings, too. The animated shows in particular stretch back decades.

Marvel Studios has shifted focus from quantity to quality during Phase 5, though that means the end of the Multiverse Saga is very nearly upon us...with a lot of stories seemingly left unfinished (for now, at least). 

Every dangling plot thread not being neatly wrapped up by the end of this Saga isn't the end of the world; however, a new rumour shared by scooper Daniel Richtman claims Marvel Studios plans to release only two movies between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. 

One of those we already know is Spider-Man 4 and the other could be Blade or another mystery project. Clearly, those rumoured plans from a while back about a whole wave of "Battleworld" projects have been scaled back as, according to Richtman, Marvel Studios is eager to end the Multiverse Saga as soon as possible.

Last Christmas saw the release of What If...? season 2 and with Agatha All Along wrapping up just in time for Halloween, the hope was that we might get another Marvel Animation series before the year is over.

It's previously been reported that Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man might debut in 2024, but according to The Cosmic Circus, we shouldn't expect to see the wall-crawler on Disney+ until 2025 at the earliest.

"We can report that our sources have informed us of a delay for Marvel animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man until 2025," reads an X post shared by the site. "Sorry, Spidey fans!"

This is disappointing and we don't necessarily anticipate What If...? season 3 being ready in the next couple of months either. Marvel Zombies has been in production for a while, though that's surely a series Marvel would save for next Halloween.

Djimon Hounsou, who is known for starring in the horror movies A Quiet Place Part II and A Quiet Place: Day One, has just been cast in an upcoming horror-thriller titled The Monster. Below, we shared all that we know about his casting and the film.

The Monster will be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. You might recognize Bousman as the director behind four of the Saw movies: Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV and Spiral. He will be helming The Monster from a script co-written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer (Unsane).

Additionally, Lee Nelson and David Tish of Envision Media Arts and Saw producer Mark Burg are producing the film, which is set to start filming in November in Danbury, Connecticut.

Marvel Studios and Disney Plus have been going hand-in-hand with each other since 2021. The Hollywood juggernaut turned its attention to the small screen after the conclusion of its Infinity Saga, determined to build out the world even further through the use of streaming television. It accomplished that with the launch of WandaVision, which has led to the arrival of ten more Disney Plus shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (including that original show's spinoff Agatha All Along).

There is no doubt about it, the MCU is a much bigger, more expansive place with the original series adding to the lore. Not all have achieved the same levels of success, but they have all reached different corners of the TV fandom that maybe wouldn't have jumped on-board the MCU ship otherwise. From WandaVision's sitcom episodes to the comedy of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, there has been something there for everyone.

We've all been there; you're enjoying a TV show and consuming all of the awesome moments and developments it has to offer, and then it's cancelled. Gone. Removed from the network and perhaps even concluding without a satisfying finale. Yep, we've all been there.

It's a tale as old as television itself and not even Marvel shows are safe from the cancellation ax. Yes, that Marvel. As in biggest studio in the entertainment world Marvel. That's right; long before it even had regular Disney Plus shows adding to its Marvel Cinematic Universe story, it had Marvel Television shows airing on both broadcast TV and streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu. It was an exhilarating time to be alive as superheroes were running the small screen too.

There were a number of MCU shows back then too, and some that have since been retroactively canonized by recent projects set within that shared universe of superheroes.

James Gunn's goal for the DC Universe is to create one shared world that plays out across film, television, animation, and video games (we're still not sure how that would work given how long they take to create). 

While the Dcu's official launch will come with next year's Superman, Creature Commandos promises to give fans a taste of what's to come from DC Studios. Gunn has said those characters are going to appear in live-action, something that's been confirmed by Frank Grillo's planned role as Rick Flag Sr. in Superman and Peacemaker season 2. 

Talking to ComicBook.com, Frankenstein actor David Harbour was asked about the possibility of bringing that character into a live-action setting.

"I don't know if I'm waiting for the phone call," he admitted. "I mean, I'm not like down by the phone, but no, there's nothing specific yet or at least I haven't heard anything specific.

Over the past year, the Marvel mythos has been infused with Disney magic in new What If...? one-shots that put Mickey Mouse and the gang into classic Marvel Comics storytelling.

It took Disney longer to start releasing comics like this than we expected; when Disney first acquired Marvel, we expected that to become the norm, though outside of Big Hero 6, Disney Animation and Pixar have, unfortunately, never been mashed up with the Marvel Universe.

What If...? season 1 was a hit when it arrived on Disney+ in 2021 and while the show did struggle to keep that momentum up with season 2, there were some phenomenal ideas in that first batch of episodes.

Thanks to Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding, we have a look at many of the character designs the Character Designer and Creative Director did for the Marvel Animation project. He was a comic book artist before lending his talents to the MCU and it's clear to see how those sensibilities carried over to this series.

Back in March, the surprising news broke that Marvel Studios/Disney had fired X-Men '97 showrunner Beau DeMayo shortly before the animated revival show's world premiere.

Since then, the internet has been rife with rumors and speculation about what might have led to DeMayo's dismissal, and last month, Marvel finally released a statement on the matter.

"Mr. DeMayo was terminated in March 2024 following an internal investigation. Given the egregious nature of the findings, we severed ties with him immediately and he has no further affiliation with Marvel."

Though no specific details were revealed, we have since heard that DeMayo was terminated for sending lewd photos to members of his staff, and there have been further reports of him being physically and sexually inappropriate with several of his colleagues.

DeMayo has denied this, suggesting that his firing was simply due to homophobia, and claiming that he was stripped of his X-Men '97...

Paul Bettany will soon be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reprising his role as the Vision, last seen in "WandaVision," in a new TV series centered around the android hero. The first bit of truly exciting news about the project came a few days ago when it was confirmed that the Vision TV series will also see James Spader return to the MCU as Ultron, the robot archnemesis of the Avengers and the Vision's creator.

Spader last appeared as Ultron in writer/director Joss Whedon's 2015 MCU bow-out, "Avengers: Age of Ultron." (Ultron also showed up in the animated series "What If...?" but was voiced by Marvel's go-to understudy Ross Marquand.)

The arc of the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) has been pretty wild since she was first introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2014. At the end of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," she was seen as an aspiring villainess, kept at bay in a mysterious prison. In 2015's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" she fell under the thrall of the evil super-robot of the film's title, using her magical powers to fight the film's superhero characters. The character would eventually decide that being a hero is preferable to being a villain, and would fight alongside the good guys in "Captain America: Civil War," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Avengers: Endgame." Like her comic book counterpart, the Witch would also begin a tentative romance with the Vision (Paul Bettany), a more ethical super-robot.

Marvel Animation first revealed plans for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man at 2022's San Diego Comic-Con. The show was titled Spider-Man: Freshman Year at the time and was mistakenly identified as a prequel to Captain America: Civil War. 

While it would have been pretty spectacular to see what Peter Parker was up to before meeting Iron Man, we'd later learn that the animated series takes place in an alternate reality where Norman Osborn becomes his mentor in place of Tony Stark. 

Jeff Trammell (Craig of the Creek) serves as Head Writer and recently sat down with The Official Marvel Podcast to share new details on what fans can expect from the web-slinger's return to animation. 

"You know, I want to give a cliche, 'Expect the unexpected' answer but, honestly, I think you can expect Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man," he teased. "He's hanging around New York; it's not a huge intergalactic adventure.

In What If...? season 2, we were introduced to another original character created for the MCU, Kahhori. A young Mohawk woman with the power of the Space Stone, she was an instant hit with fans and took centre stage in the finale alongside Captain Carter for a battle with the demented Strange Supreme.

It's been announced today that Marvel Comics' annual celebration of Native American Heritage Month will be extra special this year thanks to the release of Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds #1, a new one-shot that will see the character officially join the Marvel Comics Universe.

This new instalment in the Marvel's Voices line will be written and illustrated by an array of exciting talent, including Kahhori's co-creator and What If...? writer Ryan Little. The character's debut adventures will also be written by Indigenous creators Arihhonni "Honni" David and Kelly Lynne D'Angelo in their Marvel Comics debuts.

A new trailer for Marvel Animation's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was shown to fans at D23 last weekend and while we don't have the entire thing, 90 seconds of it has surfaced on social media today.

In that, we see the fateful moment Peter Parker is bitten by an interdimensional spider (on the teenager's neck rather than his hand) before the opening credits kick in with a remix of the wall-crawler's classic theme song.

Hudson Thames, who voiced Spider-Man in What If...?, appears to be doing something a little different here and the animation style is far removed from Marvel Studios' previous Disney+ offerings.

It could prove somewhat divisive but is a refreshing approach to the character and one which has received a largely positive response from fans on social media.
