This is an excellent series, well produced and very well written with a cast that clearly has great chemistry. The story leaps between the main characters present day lives as doctors, their med-school past and occasionally into day-dream like sequences best described as their "inner thoughts" or "desires". If that sounds confusing it really isn't, it's done particularly well and adds an entirely new level to the overall story. While all the individual performances are great, Shawn Ashmore is particularly outstanding as Fitz, whose quick wit and clever dialogue is exceptionally well written. This series has a unique look and feel that seems far more honest than other medical genre TV series. Fans of Nurse Jackie would probably really enjoy Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures' honesty and story style. My only request for season 2 (should one be produced), bring back Stephen McHattie for more episodes!

You will love every episode of this high quality series and wish for more. Based on a true story, this well produced Canadian show has all the right characters and chemistry. Do I love it more because it's filmed in Ontario? Yes! The story is what really makes it amazing. Everyone will be able to relate to something in this 8 part series. There's a certain transparency and truth to the story that makes it both entertaining and thought provoking. At first I thought it would be like Scrubs but without the comedy, but I was wrong. Bloodletting is completely unique. When you're finished watching all the episodes, you'll probably want to meet the writer.
