This is a great story that involves salesman "Burt Morris" (actor Pat Hingle) claiming to witness a crime. He is great at stretching his sales pitch to potential buyers, but he goes too far when he says that he can identify the driver of the getaway car.
The crooks are frustrated; they can't find a fence to buy the stolen goods after a police officer is shot. And the trigger man is nervous when he thinks that he has been identified by Salesman Burt.
Plenty of action and suspense. Will the bad guy track down Burt and kill him? Will Burt's wife (character "Jeannie Morris", played by actress Nancy Olson), who knows about Burt's lying and exaggerating, stand by him? Will "Prinz" (actor Alex Colon), who is approached by Lt. Stone (Karl Malden), fence the hot diamonds and give the thieves time to blow town?
A great grand finale car chase with Lt. Stone and Lt. Keller in hot pursuit, as Burt tries to escape the trigger man. Will Burt live through it?
