    So out of character

What I used to like about the show was it's sincerity when it comes to upds and downs of marriage. Granted, Dan wasn't a perfect husband, but he was caring and loyal. Those recent episodes basically denied everything he ever was and made him act completely out of character. It spoiled the show. I understand that John Goodman wanted to work on movies (and he got sick of drama on the set of Roseanne), but they could really write him off or limit his appearance in the show in a better way.

    Stupid

Despite all the crappy things this show did, especially this season, Dan would never have an affair ...

Jackie judges Dan for spending time with another woman other than his wife (Roseanne), but Jackie went out dancing with another man when she was married to Fred, and even lied to him about it.

Roseanne Conner: Like I'm supposed to just look the other way when they catch you in a hotel room with a call girl? I don't have the blindness that only money can buy, Dan, I'm not Rose Kennedy. I'm working class. There's right and there's wrong. There's black AND there's white, and no amount of money can make me see gray.
