When MacGillis and Polly's old boyfriend, Evan, shake hands, Evan looks at him strangely and MacGillis asks "Don't I know you?"; this is an in-joke as both Gerald McRaney (MacGillis) and Jameson Parker (Evan) were main stars in a TV series "Simon and Simon", which ran for many years.

Goofs
When Evan comes in for the first time, Casey runs to the major and says "don't worry Major I don't know who he is either" indicating Casey was too young to remember when her mom dated Evan years prior. Later in the episode Evan shows Polly a photo he took of Polly holding Casey. In the photo, Casey is approximately the same age as she is currently in the show.
