"Super Bowl XXX" again pitted two powerhouse franchises the NFC champion Dallas Cowboys going for their third world title in four years against the gritty and tough AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers coached by young and upstart head coach Bill Cowher. Billed as the duel in the desert the game started out much as expected with a dose of Emmitt Smith and steady passing from the explosive Cowboys offense guided by Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin. As Dallas would jump out to a 10-0 lead. Only the Steelers D would contain Emmitt and tighten up as the Dallas lead was cut to 13-7 at the half. The Steelers would open the second half with power running and gain momentum with a surprise onside kick only to be double robbed when QB Neil O' Donnell would throw not one, but two costly interceptions to the games unlikely hero DB and game MVP Larry Brown. The Boys closed the game out with an Emmitt touchdown and final of 27-17. Who would have thought it the wishbone and cocky arrogant Barry Switzer wins a Super Bowl, thanks Neil O' Donnell!
