When Pete sings his "Bad Guy Song", he drops through the cellar on a rope attached to a basket of bricks, and hands Clarabelle his hat, telling her to watch out for the bricks, but the bricks were on the other side of the rope from her, though they hit her anyway.
In Pete's Bad Guy song, he tugs on a rope and sits in a chair, facing the table, then drops through a hole, to his dungeon, facing away from the camera, and turns around before getting off the spring loaded chair, which shoots back up into the room, facing the table.
Although the movie is set in (more or less) 17th-century France, the opera at which the princess is kidnapped is "The Pirates of Penzance", written two centuries later.
