Saturday is always the biggest, craziest and best day at San Diego Comic-Con. All of the really cool big stuff happens on Saturday, and this year there are some fun things to plan for. Comic-Con International has released the full schedule for Saturday July 26th, and you can go through the whole thing here to plan out your day. I've included a few of the highlights below though to give you an idea of what is in store for the fans. The biggest panels taking place are for Marvel and Warner Bros. We'll see you there! 

The Simpsons - Celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Simpsons-no gifts please-with creator Matt Groening, executive producer Al Jean, supervising director MikeAnderson, and director for life David Silverman. Topics include the new Treehouse of Horror, Simpsorama, a visit from Homer Simpson and much, much more.

The dog days of August are almost over, which means blockbusters are taking a backseat to all those lovely prestige pictures the studios trot out when the leaves change and Meryl Streep gets her thirst for gold like the Oscar vampire she is.

Heavy hitters like Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence, George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Michael Fassbender, Tom Hanks, Kristen Wiig, Chris Hemsworth and the ubiquitous Benedict Cumberbatch all pop up in multiple movies on our annual list of the Fall's best and brightest. Fan favs like Thor (as in "The Mighty"), Ron Burgundy, Katniss Everdeen, Jack Ryan and Machete chop their way back to the big screen with much fanfare, but this time of year is all about the Oscar bait — a Golden Globe simply won't do.

Jason Statham (The Expendables) proves even angels have a dark side when Redemption arrives on Blu-ray Disc, DVD and Digital Download September 24 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Yesterday kicked off my 2014 Oscar Preview with the first ten films in a look at 40 potential contenders to be on the lookout over the course of the next ten months, today we take a look at ten more and among them I have included the only animated contender I'm listing as well as the only blockbuster feature. Today's installment includes the dramatization of the Wikileaks story in The Fifth Estate, Bennett Miller (Moneyball) returns with Foxcatcher starring Channing Tatumand Mark Ruffalo, Disney's animated feature Frozen, the Sundance standout Fruitvale starring Michael B. Jordan, Grace of Monaco starring Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly, the long-awaited Alfonso Cuaron feature Gravity with Oscar winners George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, the question mark that is Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, another question mark in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, the black-and-white Coen brother feature Inside Llewyn Davis and Jason Reitman...

Slowly but sure, "The Hobbit" is making its way to The Shire. After getting a green light, the movie is gathering its cast ensemble. Peter Jackson has made an official announcement about who will appear in the film, confirming wide speculation that English actor Martin Freeman ("The Office") will play main character Bilbo Baggins.

"Despite the various rumours and speculation surround this role, there has only ever been one Bilbo Baggins for us," the director/producer/scribe says. "He [Martin] is intelligent, funny, surprising and brave - exactly like Bilbo and I feel incredibly proud to be able to announce that he is our Hobbit."

Richard Armitage ("Frozen", "Captain America: The First Avenger") is cast as Thorin Oakenshield, leader of the Dwarves. Thorin's nephews, dwarves Kili and Fili, are going to be portrayed by Aidan Turner ("Being Human") and Rob Kazinsky ("EastEnders").

St. Trinian's II: The Legend of Fritton's Gold

Opens: 2010

Cast: Colin Firth, Rupert Everett, David Tennant, Gemma Arterton, Talulah Riley

Director: Oliver Parker, Barnaby Thompson

Summary: A rollercoaster-style treasure hunt for the legendary Fritton’s Gold ensues as the feisty and ever-resourceful schoolgirls of St Trinian’s face their most fearsome establishment rivals yet - the villainous Pomfrey and his sidekicks from the women-hating secret society known as AD1.

Analysis: While it didn't travel much beyond the UK, 2007's reboot of the "St Trinian's" franchise nearly doubled its £7 million production budget in sales in the UK alone - making it one of the top grossing independent British films of the past decade. Reviews were decidedly mixed but generally pretty weak at the time, so the greenlighting of a sequel surprised quite a few.

A Prophet

Director: Jacques Audiard

Summary: Sent to prison, Malik El Djebena falls under the sway of a group of Corsicans who enforce their rule in the prison. As the 'missions' go by, he toughens himself and wins their confidence but uses his intelligence to discreetly develop his own network.

Analysis: Finally scoring a limited release in the Us in February, Jacques Audiard's violent and hard-edged prison drama won the Grand Prix at Cannes, scored Best Film at the London Film Festival, and is already the hotly tipped favourite to take the Oscar for Best Foreign Film late next month.
