Prime Video’s November programming will dip its toe into Christmas and other holiday offerings such as The Holiday (2006) starring Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz and Jack Black. The streamer will also add some films with sequels arriving in theaters this month, like Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) and Ridley Scott’s 1992 film Gladiator.

There is a new fire chief coming to Chicago Fire this season. Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden stepped down as the chief in the season finale last season. Battalion Chief Wallace Boden said his goodbyes during the Season 12 finale, opening the door for some fresh stories.

Boden felt he needed to take a higher position in the Chicago Fire Department to help the city, and that’s exactly what he did.

Actor Eamonn Walker takes a step back from being a series regular to play a character who appears sporadically.

Boden’s character treatment on Chicago Fire is similar to Matthew Casey (played by Jesse Spencer), who is off doing his own thing, but stories can intertwine later.

Chicago Fire fans will miss seeing Boden at Firehouse 51 every week, and change is hard. But that’s what happens on shows that last this long on television.

Dermot Mulroney has joined “Chicago Fire” Season 13 as the station’s newest fire chief.

Mulroney, who recently starred in Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s “Anyone but You,” will play Chief Dom Pascal in the NBC procedural’s upcoming season. He takes the baton after Eamonn Walker, who played Battalion Chief Wallace Boden since the show’s start, exited as a series regular after 12 seasons.

The decision for Walker’s exit, which was announced in May, came from the actor, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap. Walker’s character won’t be killed off, and is expected to make appearances in upcoming episodes of “Chicago Fire.” The character had been on a leave of absence for part of Season 12, and returned for the Season 12 finale.

In addition to starring in “Chicago Fire,” Walker’s Battalion Chief also appeared on spin-off series “Chicago Med” and “Chicago P.D.”

Directed by Jonah Feingold, from a screenplay by Dan Steele, EXmas revolves around Graham (Amell), his family, and his ex-fiancée Ali during the Christmas holiday. When Graham has to work during Christmas he tells his family that he won’t be able to make it home, but despite his work promises he still goes home and finds his ex, who broke up with him sometime ago celebrating Christmas with his family. When he learns that his family invited her and they still like her he vows to make everyone hate her and ask her to leave by Christmas time. With the holidays right around the corner, Freeform’s “25 Days of Christmas” is back.

This year, starting December 1, the special lineup event will introduce Disney+ holiday films “Noelle,” which stars Anna Kendrick, and “Godmothered,” which stars Jillian Bell, as the flicks make their Freeform debut.

In addition to the new favorites, the network will welcome back classic holiday movies, including 2000 film “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Disney’s A Christmas Carol,” “Frozen,” “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas” and the 1994 version of “Miracle on 34th Street.”

Several beloved film franchises will also make their return, including the “Home Alone” and “The Santa Clause” trilogies alongside the “Toy Story” franchise. During the special event, Freeform will also air holiday episodes of “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy.”

Streaming services are now trying to ration their upcoming original content due to the ongoing actors strike and the only recently-resolved writers’ strike, so we’re going to see a thinning-down of new releases across the board over the next six months at least. Hulu will be adding a lot of library TV shows and movies in November, but there are only a few new major original projects hitting the streamer this month.

Hulu’s spotlight streaming series in November is Black Cake, which is based on the bestselling book by Charmaine Wilkerson. Part family drama, part murder mystery, the show features a globetrotting story that will cover decades of events after a bereaved family find a flash drive that contains some shocking secrets about the hidden history of their late matriarch.

Though Huluween is almost officially over, Hulu is not slowing down at all as the new month approaches! Anne Kauffman, who recently oversaw an acclaimed revival of “The Sign in Sydney Brustein’s Window,” will direct. The production will begin previews on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Samuel J. Prime Video has adapted the one-woman podcast “Empanada Loca” into a new series. “The Horror of Dolores Roach” will begin streaming on the service on July 7. Buckle up, because this one is gruesome. Roach (Justina Machado) returns to a gentrified Washington Heights after a long prison sentence and works as a masseuse in the basement of a friend’s empanada shop. But when her security is threatened, Roach is driven to extremes to survive.

Season 2 of “Good Omens” also will premiere on Prime Video in July. Arriving July 28, the series focuses on the friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and rare-book dealer, and the snarky demon Crowley (David Tennant). While the Apocalypse has been averted, the pair are back living their lives in London, until the archangel Gabriel shows up. The series is based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

Exclusive: Dermot Mulroney (Scream VI) is currently in production in Tuczon, Az on Last Dollar, an 1880s-set Western inspired by European cinema.

Set during a period of rapid societal change, this tale of love and vengeance is layered with unexpected revelations that push boundaries of the genre. Mulroney plays Dallas Garrett, a former outlaw gunslinger with the wisdom of regret, who serves as a mentor to a young man trying to find his way in the world.

Last Dollar marks the first solo feature for the newly launched Thunderbird Pictures. Carol Locatell, who had a memorable turn as the foulmouthed mother Ethel Hubbard in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning and worked alongside Burt Reynolds in three films, has died. She was 82.

Locatell died April 11 at her home in Sherman Oaks after a long battle with cancer, her husband, songwriter and record producer Gregory Prestopino, told The Hollywood Reporter. They were together for 50 years.

Locatell moved from Los Angeles to New York in the mid-1980s to shake up her career, and from her first audition there she landed a part on Broadway in Neil Simon’s Broadway Bound, which premiered in 1986. She then appeared in The Shadow Box in 1994 and in The Rose Tattoo a year later.

She first met Reynolds when she auditioned for him for a role in Simon’s Chapter Two at his dinner theater in Jupiter, Florida. She worked with him in Paternity...

Carol Locatell was born on December 13, 1940 – a date that happens to have been a Friday the 13th. So it seems very fitting that when she embarked on an acting career, her role in the 1985 slasher Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (watch it Here) would turn out to become the role she was best known for. Locatell delivered a hilarious performance in that film, making the foul-mouthed Ethel Hubbard someone fans have been having fun watching for nearly forty years now. Sadly, Locatell is no longer with us. She passed away recently at the age of 82. Ron Sloan, who played Ethel’s dimwitted son Junior in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, broke the news of her passing on social media last night.

Known to horror fans for her role in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, Bloody Disgusting has learned the sad news this week that Carol Locatell has passed away at the age of 82.

Alongside Ron Sloan’s character Junior, Carol Locatell played Ethel (aka Ma) in the Friday the 13th franchise’s fifth installment back in 1985, delivering a scene-stealing performance that helped make her a fan favorite star on the horror convention circuit in recent years.

While twenty-somethings remain Hollywood’s hottest ticket in town, there’s nothing like when silver-screen legends shine like diamonds on the big screen. Focus Features debuted its Book Club: The Next Chapter trailer, showing what happens when four friends escape to Italy for food, fun, and plenty of frisky business.

Bill Holderman returns to direct from a script he co-wrote with Erin Simms. Book Club: The Next Chapter is the surprise sequel to 2018’s Book Club, also directed and co-written by Holderman and Simms. As you can see from today’s Book Club: The Next Chapter trailer, the sequel finds Mary Steenburgen, Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, and Candice Bergen taking Italy by storm, and getting into trouble in the process.

The film marks the first adaptation of one of Paris’ books and has now started shooting in the U.K.

Jeff Celentano (The Hill, Glass Jaw) directs the psychological thriller with supernatural elements that tells the story of a woman, played by Kelly, who drives by a stranded motorist later revealed to have been murdered. Long the queen of comedy, the actress said she is open to playing “types,” provided the script is good. “I really like working, so I wouldn’t mind doing any types, at this point, it’d be fun,” Keaton said during a recent interview with IndieWire. “I could play some hideous person. Nitehawk Cinema is expanding its programming team.

The chain, which has branches in Williamsburg and Prospect Park, in Brooklyn, N.Y., has hired Cristina Cacioppo and Desmond Thorne to augment its programming staff. They will both report to John Woods, Nitehawk’s director of programming and acquisitions.

Cacioppo most recently programmed for the Alamo Drafthouse in downtown Brooklyn, where she oversaw the repertory programming, and spearheaded new film series and events. She has been a film programmer for the past two decades, having previously headed up the 92nd Street Y’s Tribeca film program. She is the co-director of the New York branch of the Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies, has an ongoing column, “The Outskirts,” for Screen Slate, and has written on occasion for Mubi.

Thorne worked on the programming team at NewFest, New York’s LGBT film festival, for three years, as both a festival programmer and a consultant for their year-round programming.
