Paul Teal, a TV and stage actor who appeared on shows including “One Tree Hill,” died Friday in Raleigh, N.C. He was 35.

Teal’s death was confirmed by a representative for the actor, with the cause of death revealed as cancer. Emilia Torello, Teal’s partner, shared with TMZ that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer in April.

The news was first broken by Torello after she shared more about the actor’s death online.

“You were my soulmate, my soon-to-be-husband, my rock, and my future,” Torello wrote in a post on Instagram. “You were taken too soon, in a battle that you fought bravely without fail. While a part of me died with you, I promise to fight to find joy in life as hard as you fought to live every single day.”

Paul Teal, an actor with a recurring role on One Tree Hill, has died. He was 35.

Teal’s partner, Emilia Torello, shared a post on social media confirming the actor’s death, which happened on Friday, November 15.

“The most thoughtful, inspiring, driven, self-disciplined, loving man passed away,” Torello posted on Instagram. “Paul, you were my soulmate, my soon-to-be-husband, my rock, and my future. You filled my lungs with laughter, my stomach with butterflies, and my heart with love. You were taken too soon, in a battle that you fought bravely without fail.”

Torello continued, “While a part of me died with you, I promise to fight to find joy in life as hard as you fought to live every single day. The world is lucky to have even had a moment with Paul Teal, and I am the luckiest person in it, because I got to call you mine. I will love you forever.

The Notebook is one of those classic love stories that we’re still obsessed with 20 years later, and that’s in large part thanks to the incredible (and very wealthy) cast.

Another Grammy nominations clean-sweep for Broadway: For the third consecutive year, all the nominees for Best Musical Theater Album are for Broadway productions. No West End, Off Broadway, regional theater – or 2022 winner TikTok.

The six 2025 Grammy nominees in the theater category are Hell’s Kitchen, Merrily We Roll Along, The Notebook, The Outsiders, Suffs and The Wiz. Four of the shows are still running, though two of those (The Notebook and Suffs) will be closed when the winners are announced in February so would be unable to benefit ticket-wise from the publicity.

This year’s cast album nominations mean that plenty of performers not typically associated with music, or only music, could potentially tick off a box on the long road to Egot status: Daniel Radcliffe, Wayne Brady, Jonathan Groff, Lindsay Mendez, among others.

The genre of horror films has been around for a very long time. Despite shocking and frightening audiences, this genre is very popular, and some filmmakers have made a living by creating horror films, especially after Alfred Hitchcock took the genre to new heights.

Wes Craven, John Carpenter, and George Romero are regarded as classics, but there are also a number of up-and-coming filmmakers who want to make a career in the genre.

One of them is Drew Hancock, whose upcoming sci-fi horror Companion is set to be released early next year, although we’ve just received news that the movie is being pushed back, although not by much.

Sony’s Venom: The Last Dance, starring Tom Hardy, grossed $2.2m, roughly a third of all ticket sales from Friday to Sunday, at the South Korean box office on its second weekend on release, November 1-3, according to Kobis.

The third instalment in the franchise now has a total gross of $6.6m as of November 4. This is less than its predecessor Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which opened during the pandemic but took $8.8m over its first two weekends.

After debuting in first place on Wednesday (October 30), Cj Enm’s local comedy title Amazon Bullseye fell to second over the weekend with $1.4m.

“Venom: The Last Dance” held on for a second weekend win at the South Korea theatrical box office. It fended off a decent challenge from local comedy “Amazon Bullseye.”

“Venom” earned $2.21 million in its second full weekend of release, down 48% from (a steeply revised figure of) $4.45 million reported by Kobis, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council. Since releasing on Oct 23., “Venom” has built a cumulative total of $9.34 million.

Newly released “Amazon Bullseye” shot $1.45 million over the weekend and $2.37 million over its five-day opening run. Directed by Kim Chang-ju, the film is a comedy about a Korean archery champion who has to learn some humility when a plane crash lands him in the South American jungle and puts him among tribesmen with better bow and arrow skills. The laughs begin when he takes a trio back to Korea.

Teri Garr, the legendary comic actress and singer known for her roles on TV and film, passes away on October 29th.

Her publicist Heidi Schaeffer told The Associated Press that Garr died of multiple sclerosis after struggling with health issues in recent years.

Teri is best known by multiple generations for a variety of projects. Some perhaps know her best as Inga, the sexy assistant in Mel Brooks’ 1974 film Young Frankenstein. The way she greeted Gene Wilder’s Dr.

Horror, much like comedy, is subjective. But even keeping that in mind, it’s hard to be prepared for The Roots’ James Poyser’s favorite scary movie. Jimmy Fallon was blindsided by the keyboardist’s pick on the latest episode of “The Tonight Show.”

In honor of spooky season, Fallon noted that a new survey found 84% of people watch scary movies around Halloween. “Personally, my favorite is the original ‘Halloween,'” Fallon shared. He then asked the members of “The Tonight Show” house band what their favorite scary movies are.

Most were expected. Black Thought listed “Paranormal Activity,” saying “that one really got me.” Questlove mentioned “Jaws” because “that shark messed me up.” Then it was James Poyser’s turn.

Eva Mendes says the only way that she could be convinced to return to acting is if it’s alongside her husband Ryan Gosling.

It’s been a decade since Mendes stepped away from acting. Her last role was a small part in Gosling’s feature directorial debut Lost River. The actress’ last credit, though, was lending her voice to a 2021 episode of Bluey.

“I was never in love with acting. I don’t mean this in a self-deprecating way, but I wasn’t a great actress. I had my moments when I worked with really great people,” she said in an interview with the U.K.’s Sunday Times.

Korean-made crime-comedy-thriller “I The Executioner,” a sequel to 2015 hit ‘Veteran,” continued to top South Korea’s weekend box office. Its victory, however, was a hollow one as Korea’s overall box office slumped to its lowest level this year.

Nationwide, Korea’s roughly 2,500 cinemas together earned just $4.39 million between Friday and Sunday.

In several previous years, the month of October has been weak for cinemas in Korea, but the latest weekend total was a lower mid-October mark than either Covid-blighted 2022 or 2023’s recovery year.

The latest figures are in line with some of the gloomy discussion at the recently-concluded Busan International Film Festival, where the difficulties currently faced by theatrical cinema and the companies that supply and distribute it, were major talking points.

Suffs, a Broadway musical about the women’s suffrage movement, is closing on Jan. 5, 2025, after about 10 months on Broadway.

The musical, which stars Shaina Taub, who also wrote its book and score, had the backing of Hillary Clinton and Malala Yousafzai, who were both named as producers, and won Tony Awards for the best book and score.

Still, the musical, which opened on Broadway on April 18, has seen a gradual decline in grosses since hitting a high of $942,785.35 in the week ending June 23, which is the week following the Tony Awards. Suffs performed at the ceremony, and took home the two trophies, but did not take home the top prize of best musical.

Attendance has been in the 80 percent to 90 percent capacity range for most weeks of the run, but the higher running costs for Broadway shows make it hard to sustain a show without grosses consistently closer to the $1 million level.

Rachel McAdams is in talks to star in Sam Raimi’s Send Help, the horror-thriller from 20th Century Studios, which he is producing and directing.

Sources tell us that these negotiations are in early stages, and nothing is definite at this point. The news follows Deadline’s exclusive earlier in July, which broke the news that Raimi had boarded the project not officially greenlit by the studio.

Billed as a two-hander horror-thriller set on an island, the story is somewhere between Rob Reiner’s Stephen King adaptation Misery and Robert Zemeckis’ classic Castaway. Send Help is based on an original script by Baywatch scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Zainab Azizi will also produce under the Raimi Productions banner, and the film is expected to nab a theatrical release.

The teaser cleverly puts us at ease with the usual romcom set-up, even noting that the movie comes from the studio that brought us The Notebook. We then see a chef preparing a meal for Quaid and Thatcher's characters, who initially seem to be enjoying each other's company.

Things quickly take a dark turn when it's revealed that Thatcher is handcuffed to her chair, and we're then told that "the unhinged creators of Barbarian" were also involved with bringing the film to the screen.

From here, we get some glimpses of sinister goings-on involving the leads (it definitely looks like they're doing their best to kill each other for some reason), but it's still not clear exactly what's happening.
