Live TV comes with certain risks, and Sunday’s Oscars snafu – in which “La La Land,” not “Moonlight,” was mistakenly named Best Picture at first – is a reminder of that. The occasional slip of the tongue or even pranks can lead a few buzzy, unpredictable moments, which may explain why live TV is experiencing a resurgence in popularity among TV programmers.

But there are times though when major snafus take over a live broadcast, causing embarrassment or controversy. It’s in those moments when the networks probably wished there was time for a do-over or edit.

The Alliance of Women Film Journalists has announced the winners for the 2013 Eda (Excellent Dynamic Activism) Awards! And predictably, by now, Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave" took the top honors with McQueen taking home the best director trophy, and Lupita Nyong'o the best supporting actress honor.

The great team of Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto for "Dallas Buyers Club" emerged victorious with their wins for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively.

Nicole Holofcener's "Enough Said" won two for best woman director and woman screenwriter for Holofcener.

Ridley Scott's "The Counselor," on the other hand, did not get love...at all! It won the Hall of Shame and The Movie You Wanted to Love But Just Couldn't awards. Its star, Cameron Diaz took home the Actress Most in Need of a New Agent award. Yikes! But they're true though!

Korea seems strangely averse to raunch. And it's a surprising thing, really. Estimates say that a pretty astounding percentage of South Korea's Gdp goes into the sex trade, which is illegal but ubiquitous, and classy sexual dramas are no issue at all so it's not like censors are prudish about sexual content, but despite the massive success of the Sex Is Zero films the full out sex comedy is largely absent from Korean cinema. Other than, you know, the upcoming effort My Phone Sex Partner, whose Korean title is shortened down to Ps to avoid causing offense. Not that comedies in decades past played not role in movie comedies, but it is really only in cinema’s recent history that screenwriters and directors have really embraced the full extent to which all things that happen ‘in the sack’ can be conducive to big laughs. The sexual content in said films has always presented as something the characters, male or female (although typically the former) want to obtain by any means necessary. Hold, Please: Travis’ Debut an Anachronistic, Hilarious Laugh

Penned by Katie Ann Naylon and star Lauren Miller, For a Good Time, Call… is a surprisingly adept and wantonly gleeful female buddy comedy, and the feature debut of director Jamie Travis. Tedious (and unnecessary) comparisons to Bridesmaids with women in raunchy scenarios will most likely be applied to this material, but Travis and company have assembled a breezy, sweet, and utterly winning comedic vehicle that moves so quick you’ll be willing to overlook some of its clichés and nonsensical qualities.

We meet two young women suddenly finding themselves without means to support themselves in New York City. Lauren Powell (Lauren Miller) has just been unceremoniously dumped by her (extremely boring) boyfriend, Charlie (James Wolk). Meanwhile, Katie Steele’s (Ari Graynor) enormous Gramercy Park apartment is no longer rent controlled, and without a quick roommate, she can’t afford to pay the rent herself.

Luckily the world has Jamie Travis and his indie comedy For A Good Time, Call.The reserved Lauren (played by Lauren Anne Miller) and the irrepressible Katie (Ari Graynor) are polar opposites... and past enemies. The second series premiere of Scott & Bailey returned with more than 6.8 million viewers on ITV1, according to overnight data. The crime drama took a decent 6.82m (25.1%) in the 9pm hour to help the channel secure primetime victory, though it was down from last year's strong premiere. A further 325k (1.9%) saw it on timeshift last night. Empire aired in the same timeslot on BBC One but only managed 2.68m (10.7%). Earlier on ITV1, The Dales managed 3.95m (15.9%) from 8pm.
