This series is based on the book "Donnie Brasco: My Undercover Life in the Mafia", written by FBI agent Joseph D. Pistone with Richard Woodley, about the true story of Pistone's undercover work in two New York City Mafia families as a low-level jewel thief named Donnie Brasco. The book was previously the basis for the movie Donnie Brasco (1997). Pistone's alias in the series was changed to "Joe Falcone" for legal reasons.

I've seen Falcone. I thought that the actors did a very good job presenting the characters. I looked forward to the next evening and what would be on it next. I hope they make it a series, since we truly do not know if Joe continued on the case. The actors made me feel as if I was part of the scene. I intend to purchase Falcone when and if it comes on video. It was a typical mob story but with a twist. One of the best mob stories as far as written, produced, directed, etc that I have seen.
