Typical soap opera story line, but the situation is intense enough to be very interesting. Susan(Gail O'Grady) is a swim instructor trying to hold her marriage together. Her new best friend is Laurel(Lisa Rinna)a psychologist who needs swimming lessons to help rid her childhood guilt of watching her little brother drown. Laurel falls in love for real for the first time, not knowing the man is her best friend's estranged husband. A funeral places all three at the same place at the same time blowing the sordid secret of the husband(Dale Midkiff).
Midkiff plays the two timing charmer flawlessly. Rinna is just plain alluring. O'Grady goes back and forth from needy and frumpy to new found confidence and striking beauty. Also in the cast are Sally Kirkland and Carroll Baker. A good chick flick that a guy can learn from.

I thought this movie was good. I don't normally watch dramas like this one but I thought I would give it a shot! This movie was like any other movie where you have a married couple going through some marital issues. (Spoiler) The guy finds another woman, falls in love in love with her and divorces his soon-to-be ex-wife. However, the two women start to become close friends when they take swimming lessons together. The guy of course lies to the younger looking lady and ends up losing her as well! It kind of surprised me to see Charlotte Rae from the Facts of Life and Different Strokes shows making a cameo! I like the way it ended when the swimming instructor and the student were seen running towards the ocean to get away from it all!
Leaden tale of two women in love with the same man, who frankly doesn't deserve even a passing interest from either of them. Supposedly a "sisterhood conquers all" story the characters were 1 dimensional and the dialogue was at times laughable - but not funny. I'm glad you haven't got the running time on the site as then I would know exactly how many minutes of my life I wasted watching this movie.
there is much to be said about TV. movies, especially this one,, i really enjoyed watching Lisa Rinna, from Days of our Lives,, she is always one of my fav actresses, and paired with Gail O' Grady was a good choice for this movie, i enjoyed this one very much , the only thing i wandered though was it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that johnny and jake were the same person, and why the wife could not figure the whole thing out,, i thought the movie was very well written and acted, Dale Midkiff did a fairly decent job of the bored husband looking for new adventures,, overall i would have to recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a really good chick flick.

You can love or hate a movie, or character, but it's difficult to proclaim any given story, performance, actor, director, etc., the best or worst, your most or least favored, ever, etc. Superlatives are only correctly used for one of anything - and if you discover one anew, it must surpass all others if it is truly a superlative.
Well, honestly, I have several after watching this picture - and all with regard to the Midkiff character Johnny/Jake.
Hands down, he's the MOST unsympathetic, dull, insipid, uncharismatic character I've EVER viewed.
He evokes the LEAST amount of empathy or trace of caring in any regard for what happens to him, or for the trials he might endure as a result of his duplicity. There is no way a character could be more annoying.
The two female leads are both engaging, sympathetic (for the most part), and certainly a pleasure to view. They were both screwed-up in their own ways, but who in this movie genre isn't? And the conclusion brought proper resolution.
(Whenever I watch a film with a character very annoying, like Midkiff's here, I wish the director would have hired an actor resembling Moe from the Three Stooges - and that "Moe" would proceed to bash him with a mallet, poke him in the eyes, and give him hard slaps, the way he would to Curly and Larry.)

has a dual role as a dependent housewife stuck in a relationship with Dale Midkiff, who becomes bored, and strays. Lisa Rinna is the other woman, and does quite well, although it is a bit hard to imagine her as a Ph.D.
Without spoiling the story I will just say that this a movie worth watching. Gail O'Grady used to play the bimbo parts in NYPD blue, but I now have to update my movies with her as another favorite.
She plays a swimming instructor to senior citizens, who is excellent at her job, but has emotional problems within her own life (Sally Kirkland plays her flighty, alcoholic mother). She has failed to value herself as a person, putting all her energy into the marriage with Midkiff.
While the direction is a bit flawed, the story line is believable, and O'Grady's performance is worth seeing. There is a surprise ending.

If you like swimming or hate it, this is the film for you. There are lots of funny and enjoyable Senior Citizen's swimming all around and especially a face from the past, Charlotte Rae,(Betsy) "Facts of Life",'79 TV Series, who gives Gail O'Grady,(Susan Miller),"NYPD Blue,'93 TV Series, lots of smiles and support. Susan and Johnny Miller/Jake, are husband and wife and were childhood sweethearts, the marriage is going sour and Donna Hanover (Psychologist)who adds to the problems with her fear of the water and the hots for Susan's husband Johnny/Jake. This is a very enjoyable film and worthwhile viewing. It was great seeing Charlotte Rae, who was a great star in "FACTS OF LIFE" !
This is a great story about friendship in this case It is Gail O'Grady And Lisa Rinna's friendship. Gail O'Grady's marriage is on the rocks and her husband is always away and Lisa Rinna finds the man of her dreams (which happens to be Gail O'Grady's husband) This is not giving anything away you find this out like 15minutes into the story also in The previews For the movie they tell you that they both are involved with the same man. anyways, Johnnie (Gail O'Grady's husband) asks Lisa to go to the Bahamas with him but she is afraid of water because of a tragic incident that she witnessed and Gail is a swim teacher who Lisa calls for lessons and that is how the two meet. Also Lisa Rinna did not know Johnnie was married especially not to her new best friend. This a powerful story and I loved it. I totally give it 10 stars!!!!!!
This is a great story about two best friends and One slimeball guy who goes back and forth with their love It is one good movie and Lisa Rinna and Gail O'Grady portray their roles very well. This is one of those Lifetime original movies and it was Terrific I recommended it to some friends and they all loved it just like I did GREAT MOVIE catch it on lifetime sometime It's a winner And thumbs up to Gail and Lisa for their great performances Also the unfaithful Husband Did a great job too hope he is not like Johnnie in real life.
I hate for you to watch a good movie you have to put it on your wish list or buy or rent the movie why have on here if you have to pay to watch it.its a great movie to watch.minus the long commercials.its sad that you can't even watch the movie I just hope they figure out a better way to watch these good movies.
