'Kevin & Perry Go Large' is a really successful follow up to Enfield and Burke's original TV characters. There is always an ever present danger with feature length adaptations of TV shows, in that they'll not always transfer onto the big screen with quite the same clout (Think Family Guy).

BUT, K&P have done very well.

So maybe the content is crude, but quite frankly it's a perfect reflection of youth culture abroad (yet obviously within a slanted comedic context). People do go to such destinations as Ibiza, Malia, and Ayia Napa and they DO lose their moral code.

K&P is if not anything else, a depiction of REAL youth culture.

Whether it glorifies that culture or not is up for debate. I'd argue that it doesn't as I feel that Enfield's character rather pokes fun at the naivety of youth, and whilst I've been partial to my own dalliances in nutty behaviour, I can sense a critical undertone in the Kevin character.

The film is funny, and the plot is definitely good enough to keep you watching. As a pre-pubescent teen at the first time of watching, I found the film better then, than perhaps I would do now - but I know I could always whip out the DVD, watch it, and enjoy it time and again.

Enfield and Burke were obviously well versed in their roles, but as always too the Mum and Dad characters played by James Fleet and Louisa Rix, were fantastic. Their uppish standards and typical parental attitudes are thrown out the window in Ibiza, and the denigration of these standards not only shocks, but humours you too.

Eyeball Paul (Rhys Ifans) is a refreshingly crude character, and the relationship between him and the boys is one of the anchors of the flick. Typically Ifans plays the role with precision, taking any subtleties and throwing them straight out the window.

All in all, K&P is a good film, but perhaps nothing but. It's hard to tell whether it's supposed to be a no hold barred comedy, or a tongue in cheek critique on British society. Am I supposed to take the film seriously? Or not? For that reason, I've given it six out of ten.

Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke bring Kevin and Perry to the big screen, and despite my affection for the DVD something is definitely lost in the translation to the movie theatre version of these great characters.

The Kevin and Perry sketches were always the highlight of the TV show for me, i simply love the stereotypical characters, and the exaggerated, yet realistic situations that are portrayed. The short sketches do struggle to fill up the feature length with such hilarity and the characters obviously lack the depth to sustain the entertainment throughout.

I did still enjoy the movie though, it managed to make me laugh enough and the story tried it's best to carry the duo through till the end, and it only missed by a bit. The real saving grace for me was in the DVD - Kevin's guide to being a teenager is a brilliant best of from the TV series, and it certainly makes up for the flaws in the movie.

Currently rated just 5.4, I guess that it's more indication that it's not the kind of humour most reviewers like. There is perhaps s conflict between its viewpoint of adults with experience of bringing up a hormonal mid teenage boy, who are by this stage in life probably more into politely showing off their new kitchens to friends and family than guffawing at painful reminders of their gross male adolescence.

It is very Harry Enfield who no doubt has a very nice kitchen but retains a memory of his own awkward teenage phase and has no inhibitions against lampooning his younger self. Today's (or 2000's) teenagers in contrast probably find its portrayal of them as...So Unfair!

Harry Enfield is very good but Kathy Burke's Perry is inspired: "Sorry Mrs Pa-erson". Our sympathies go out to the film's hero, played by James Fleet as cashier, chauffeur, porter - and father.

It's gross fun in the sun and funny.

Considering the TV show sketches stretch to a few minutes the director actually did a very good job in stretching it to over 80m without it becoming boring.A few good cameo appearances from several well known actors on TV and you`ve got a good blend of stupid,watchable entertainment.My only slight niggle was who was the film actually aimed at.My point being the 15 cert,and considering alot of fans are probably below that age. Rating 8/10.

Kevin and Perry were the appalling teenage lads created by Harry Enfield for his TV show; he's Kevin, Kathy Burke is Perry. This film was an attempt to cash in on those characters by taking them out of their usual setting and putting them in club-land, Ibiza.

Co-written by Enfield and directed by Ed Bye, 'Kevin and Perry Go Large' is perhaps the worst movie of 2000. Endless jokes about erections, zits, porn, sex, and poo do not a good or funny movie make. Now and again a scene might raise a smile - the antics of Kevin's parents, finding Ibiza sparks a second honeymoon for them, and Kevin's horror at realising they are sexual beings while he's still a virgin; the OTT DJ Eyeball Paul (Rhys Ifans) who finally gets his comeuppance on the packed dance floor; and the boys' terrible dance mix.

But the laughs are few and far between. I was left thinking fondly of previous Enfield creations like Stavros and wondering what on earth James Fleet and Ken Cranham were doing in this total trash.

Anyone who grew up in the nineties or early millennium will easily enjoy this. Not quite a great film, but an enjoyable enough storyline, topped off with a lot of funnies and a great soundtrack.

Also anyone who didn't grow up in the era of dance/rave music then I would say you are wasting your time watching this film, as the best thing about it is that a lot of teenagers/young adults can relate to it.

Lets be honest people in their forties or fifties aren't going to listen to Rave Music and go on a holiday to Ibiza to find some sex, pop pills and attend raves.

I would also say anyone who enjoyed the Kevin and Perry sketches in the Harry Enfield programmes should find this interesting also as the film tops any sketch ever featured on the TV programme.

I'm not a huge fan of sketch shows. The UK-wide (and who knows, maybe by now even international) appeal of shows like "Little Britain" and "The Fast Show" are largely lost on me, running with one-joke 'characters' and one-liners ad nauseum. The Kevin and Perry characters, originally from the "Harry Enfield and Chums" sketch show, are no exception - basically a one-joke set-up that 'satirises' Bitish teenage boys. And "K&P Go Large" runs with the one-joke concept full steam ahead.

This movie can be summarised with a counter - I lost count of exact numbers through boredom, but let's say "8 erect penis gags, 2 puke gags, 3 graphic slices of toilet humour, 5 'house-shaking-orgasms'"... and you'll get an idea of whether or not this movie is worth an hour and a half of your life. For me, it certainly wasn't! Certainly, sex comedies should be left to the Americans, who produce far funnier material in the "American Pie"s and "Porky's" of this world.

The only thing to recommend - for fans of dance/trance music - is the reasonable soundtrack. Many users of the message board here associate this movie with "good British humour". Please, please don't take this as gospel - we Brits CAN make good comedies! I just need to go watch one right now, to erase the horrible memory of "K&P Go Large"...

Music on another level film what a cracker eyeball Paul Dave ducker get in

A strange and bizarrely captivating movie that one thinks couldn't possibly be made if the main character didn't already have a cult following.

Sort of like the Inbetweeners movie is they were a cartoon and twice as good (which still isn't amazing quality), Kevin is a boorish parody of youth with delusions of grandeur and Perry is his gullible friend. They are both played with a veteran professionalism by two middle aged actors.

Crude, often excruciating and frequently gross, it's so shameless in its juvenility that it's sort of hard to look away.

I almost had my fill of Kevin berating his parents by the midway point but I must admit it was sweet to see them pursue two girls almost as clueless as them and it all end satisfyingly.

I used to be a hugh fan of the original Harry Enfield show on english television, but after seeing the apalling excuse for a movie of "Kevin and Perry" last night, I'm definitely having second thoughts. The usually hilarious characters are too over-worked, and simply don't have enough depth to move from a 5 minute TV sketch to a 2 hour movie. The erection jokes weren't funny the second time, and got decidedly boring after the 20th attempt. The film often turned to toilet humour for no conceivable reason other than to make the audience cringe, without actually providing the neccessary laughs to make it bearable. Continuity, originality and direction were terrible. I can't think of single reason why I could recommend anyone to see this ... save your pennys, don't go to see this, put it towards a holiday .... ibiza maybe ?

Loved this film when I first saw it upon first release and still love it now.. Great to watch with friends and allow yourself to be transported back to the golden age of clubbing.

I think this movie struggles to be understood in many countries hence the average score, it helps if you're from the UK, are a certain age and have also seen the K&P series on the TV or at least understand what the gag is!

Will definitely be giving this another watch not too long from now.

True British classic, I feel like only the British will find this funny. Classic tunes from the early naughties giving a hell of a throwback. I laughed!

Ok, so the characters were funny in small sketches the Harry Enfield and Chums TV series, but they certainly don't deserve their own movie. It's basically a "How many erection gags can you fit into 100 minutes?" This film should never have been shown at the cinema. It is what the phrase "TV Movie" is for. It's a shame that the British Film industry, which has produced some of the best independent films in recent years, also produces the odd turkey. Save your money - it will probably be shown on BBC1 soon - which is where it should have been shown originally.

I thought that this movie was quite funny. However some of the jokes are stretched out too far. The story sees Kevin and Perry (from the Harry Enfield and Chums sketch show) go to Ibiza with Kevins parents. I would recommend this film only if you are a fan of the Harry Enfield show, or you like gross humour. I give KEVIN AND PERRY GO LARGE a 7/10.

This is a modern version of Carry-On and I thought it worked pretty well. It didn't promise much apart from a lot of smut and sex. And it delivered it fairly well. Although a bit too stretched out in places the film certainly wasn't dull. There's very little story, but why should there be? It's just a vehicle for over-exaggerrated comic acting and knob gags...if that's what you like, you'll enjoy. If not, don't bother.

I don't get why so many have written to slag the movie, but only along the lines of: "I don't like Harry Enfield, or these kinds of film, so I went to see this movie and it was rubbish, see I knew it would be!" Arrrrghh! What did you bloody go for then? If you've got nothing CONSTRUCTIVE to say, then don't say it all!

I'm seriously... HOW CAN YOU FIND THIS FUNNY!?!?? I mean the boner-thing? "oh look, they got a boner, tihihiihihihihihihi" no seriously, I had the same face during the entire movie as I have when I'm in history class... I don't know if you could make this film worse... oh yeah wait, it would be worse if the zit-popping scene would've been like 10 minutes long, and if Kevin's parents would've started partying in end. Anything else, would've made movie better. I don't believe there is a heaven and a hell, but I do believe that if hell exists, the demons are all looking for jobs since this movie was made. Some people obviously seem to think this movie has a good soundtrack (which IMO it doesn't), and I guess that's the only thing I could accept to be good. Their voices, the voices, I hate that voice! This old geezer trying to sound like he's in puberty, I'm surprised no1 on the camera crew didn't shoot him.

On the cover of my DVD it says: "Will make American Pie fade in comparison". What? No way. This is absolutely the worst movie ever. If American Pie is a 100, then this one gets a 2. Please don't go and see this, or the producers might think you liked it and make a sequel. And a sequel might mess up the way we watch movies for generations to come...

Firstly if you're looking for high brow, intelligent humour to watch with your Grandma then this probably isn't the film for you. However if you want to escape all that's going on in the world for a couple of hours, listen to some amazing music and laugh to childish, un-PC humour then this may be for you. I have watched this film countless times - more than any other - and it still makes me laugh and the music helps to put you in a good mood. As I say a marmite of a film but give it a try if like things like the Inbetweeners films etc .

If you're a fan of Harry Enfield and Chums, and the collection of bizarre characters that he creates, then you will find this film to be a wonderful extension of his comedy series. If you've never heard of him you might still have a few laughs at the rye humour poked at club lifestyle in Ibiza in 1999.

If your not into Harry or clubbing I can only recommend that you go and view it with an open mind and low expectations. None of the humour is very high brow, the script is basic/workmanlike and the photographic style is barely above good TV standards.

But that's not what this film is about. Empty your mind of all the important things, set your memory back to your teenage years or simply look around the cinema at the spotty youths before you go in. This film captures those difficult teenage years perfectly. Toilet humour, club lifestyle, slapstick spot on.

My vote? 7/10

Without a doubt the biggest waste of two hours and admission price I have spent in the past year. I could go down to my local beach to see this sort of drivle. The story was 'flaky', the acting was pathetic and anything else to say would be a waste of my energy.

Growing up watching Harry Enfield and chums Kevin & Perry was always my favourite skit so loved it when heard they were doing a film and wasnt disappointed this isnt a brainer high end plot bust a joyful entertaining film that will put you in a good mood and is very rewatchable , so many great club classics beautiful scenery, having rewatched this lately cam honestly say this film has stood the test of time for me. So many of Kevin's thoughts and episodes you cam relate to its hilarious. Can't understand the low scores, other than maybe today's generation dont get it . Definetly give this film a go if you want a mood boost

Harry Enfield's characters are very successful so he decided I'll make a movie. Fair play to him and it was good to see him try but this movie is like a lot of movies that come out now. They are here just to fill up space or maybe for some idiot to say that a film like this is my favorite movie. It is a good film and is pretty funny at times but it just doesn't seem to get through the barrier of getting to be an all time classic. Sorry Harry but hopefully you'll make a better movie soon to show you are funny and let's face it you are funny and Kathy Burke is brilliant. 3 out of 5.

This is without a shadow of a doubt the worst movie of all time, and I've seen at least 30 of the bottom 100 here on IMDb. Manos has NOTHING on this movie. It's sadly unfunny. A craptacular knock-off off Bill & Ted (a master-piece in comedy, in comparison), which honestly is mostly funny because it was made quite some time ago and was sort of creative. This movie however is just extremely sad. THERE IS NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT THIS MOVIE WHATSOEVER! I really tried finding it funny how bad it was, but alas, there was nothing funny to be found. Just give two ACTUAL 15-year-olds an expensive video camera, a crew, and dress them up in "funny costumes", and let them run around and act like douche-bags, and you've got this movie in a nut-shell, except more honest seeing as how they would actually be 15 years of age, instead of being a 30-something sorry excuse of an actor/comedian/whateverthe&"¤¤theyweretryingtobe.

I'm sorry, this isn't debatable, this movie has absolutely nothing going for it. It is the pinnacle of awful. Avoid at all costs, or buy it and burn it.
