Forbidden Territory: Stanley's Search for Livingstone (1997) was a TV historical adventure drama directed by Simon Langton and written by John Pielmeier, starring Aidan Quinn as Henry Morton Stanley, Nigel Hawthorne as David Livingstone, Kabir Bedi and Edward Fox.
Two years previous Simon Langton had directed the TV miniseries Pride and Prejudice (1995) starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle which had been nominated for a BAFTA Award with Ehle winning the BAFTA for her supporting role performance.
EPILOGUE: "The publication of Livingstone's account of the Nyangwe massacre played a crucial role in the British Government's decision to force the Sultan of Zanzibar to close East Africa's most active slave market."

"Stanley traced the Lualaba to the Congo and the Atlantic Ocean, thus proving the theory that Lake Victoria was the principal source of the Nile."
